Adventure time is the most unique show I have ever seen. It is a symbol of how excellent the cartoons in this decade are. I admire this show for how weird it can be, while also remaining timeless. Finn, Marceline and the Lich are among some of the most enjoyable, entertaining and compelling personalities I have ever seen in media. This is the kind of show that people never forget, the kind of show that sets trends instead of following them, the kind of show that demands to be reflected upon some times, and makes you laugh other times. This is one of the best shows ever created, and it will be missed.

I don't want to sound like one of those "Am I the only one who" kinds of people, but sometimes I legitimately feel like I'm one of very few people who actually enjoy the non-Rebecca Sugar episodes of Adventure Time. I mean, Rebecca Sugar didn't even join the show until season 2, and she even wrote an entire episode based off her feelings of inferiority when comparing herself to the other writers, yet everyone just quotes JelloApocalypse saying it's all horrible except for Rebecca Sugar. I get that everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but proverbial dude, harsh much? If the show is so awful you'd think it would never get a season 2 for Rebecca Sugar to join.

Cameron Hawkins I honestly couldn't tell the Rebecca Sugar episodes from the other ones. Adventure was and is great with and without her. She is doing a tremendous job with Steven Universe, though.

I know Ian-Jones-Quartey's show Lakewood Plaza Turbo is getting greenlit and is currently in production, but I hope Twelve Forever gets greenlit, too. It looks like the perfect successor for Adventure Time while Lakewood Plaza Turbo is the perfect successor to Regular Show. Edit: Also, before Adventure Time, we had Flapjack, which Pendleton Ward (Along with Gravity Falls' Alex Hirsch) were storyboard artists for. So, in turn, without Flapjack, Adventure Time would've probably been a lot different. And that's not even going by what it would've been like, had Nickelodeon not have turned it down in favor of Fanboy and Chum-Chum.

Niklas Universe I'm rewatching the series now, almost finished season 1 and yeah, it wasn't as consistently brilliant as it is now. But I still think it was refreshingly creative, exciting and regularly funny

I loved the episode "Dungeon" It's probably my favourite appearance of Jake in the entire show! "Choose your weapon" "I choose... sandwich!" There were a couple of great episodes that really stick out in my mind, like Dungeon, The Gut Grinder, the pilot episode, Billy, and What Did You Do (the one where Princess Bubblegum tells them to incarcerate the Ice King for no reason, and they wonder if they're the bad guy) but the only one I don't really like is the one with Finn's fear of water, and that's just because it went overboard with the fart jokes in my opinion. Aside from that, the worst crimes of the first season was just being a tad forgettable.

Cameron Hawkins You mean "Ocean Of Fear" right? I hated that episode, it was so gross. After watching it I paused watching AT for like a month just because I thought most of the humor consisted of fart jokes. Then I saw the clip of Marceline's mother which made me want to watch it again.

With how many great shows are ending soon and with some of the new shows CN is coming out with, I have thought of this question: Is Cartoon Network trying to recreate TTG and will this lead to a decline in quality for the channel? Just look at all of the reboots coming out: Be Cool Scooby Doo, PPG 2016, and the new Ben 10 reboot. They are all reboots that are mainly comedy based, no matter how far it goes from the original source material, they all use the same type of cheap, generic flash animation, and they all feel like CN is trying to recreate the success of TTG. Whether these reboots are good or not depends on the person, but you can't deny the similarities between all of the mentioned shows. As for Adventure Time ending, I'm sad to say that I lost interest in the show a while ago and it doesn't help that it and Regular Show didn't have consistent time slots and they barely got advertising, despite giving CN a lot of success. I really wish they treated their shows better; this shit is getting old.

I absolutely loved Seasons 1-4 and the first half of 5, then the show got bland during the second half of its 5th season and it's 6th, but Season 7 as a whole was a BIG improvement.

My thoughts exactly. I felt like Season 7, while still carrying a bit of the baggage from Seasons 5B and 6, brought the show back to its former glory from seasons 2-4 while also trying to correct some of the mistakes made during the weaker seasons. It's been really fun to watch.

I dunno about new shows to Cartoon network in the way of Game changers, right now the only non-reboot show I know anything about is Mighty Magiswords (and Potentially Lakewood Plaza Turbo if thats ever actually coming out). MM is a comedy show, but it has its own thing going for it. (And the Toy potential as a 'collecter' type show). I kinda hope they do cool stuff when the show settles.

I remember being so excited for the premiere of Adventure Time, and I used to get excited for every new episode. Eventually I began losing interest and then I finally stopped watching after the episode that introduced Finn's dad. I hated how slow the show's progress was and I despised how they made Finn and Flame Princess break up among so many other disappointments and letdowns. It's quite sad that I was there for the beginning, but I won't be there for the end.

oh come on finn and flame princess break up was a great way to make flame princess her own character and for finn to finally mature and the whole dad episode was to show finn the sad truth of life and grow from that experience but the show doesn't really disappoint the world is more fleshed out the characters are more multi layered so its all your choice but you should watch the ending because it really doesn't disappoint

I give Adventure Time a lot of credit for kind of starting the "deeper" cartoon trend with a much bigger emphasis on continuity and creativity with outlandish worlds,but I kind of lost interest around Season 5-ish. Call me a baby but I really started to get tired of the writers having no idea how to handle the story arcs for certain episodes. This isn't an opinion I formed while watching JelloApocalypse, but they did so much wrong that they hyped up greatly for views.I wouldn't be surprised if that's what caused the sudden interest to die out. There was so much that was handled so poorly when the show became more story driven. It had really fascinating buildups, but nearly every minor plot arc just stops after it or gets concluded in the worst way possible. Jake's fathership going nowhere, Finn's arm growing back, Betty being introduced with a ten minute episode that *really* shouldn't have been ten minutes, and just having Finn end it with Flame Princess. A lot of this stuff happened within what felt like a short time span and the show not only became suddenly very depressing, but it also really shows that no real effort was placed into actually plotting these story arcs out. Breezy was essentially the episode that broke the camel's back for me and I never really returned to the show afterwards (I think I saw a Fionna and Cake episode afterwards but that's it really). I want to say I like it since it's clear it had a very positive influence on modern day cartoons with some really interesting story progression and art design (as well as being a lot more adult-oriented), but the episodes that do stink hit me *hard* and weigh down the experience as a whole to the point where I really don't care how the series ends at this point. I have no desire to watch the ending because I feel they'd screw that up. In short I'm kind of glad it's ending since it seems Season 5 and onwards wasn't that great. I kind of have the same feelings on Regular Show coming to an end, but it handled a lot of the things Adventure Time didn't handle well at all. I just kind of felt the humor was getting more bland and they ran out of things to do. Gumball ending is horrible though. That was easily my favorite show Cartoon Network had on air right now. Wonderful animation and humor on par with the first three seasons of SpongeBob. It was starting to get more continuity based, but it didn't feel like it overshadowed the rest of the show and still had some pretty okay humor. A really long-winded rant but every time I think about Season 5 and all that stuff they had going on around then it legitimately makes me angry. Very few shows have had that effet on me and I have no clue how Adventure Time manages to poke these buttons just right.

The stories got too out there, some things were rushed, and mysteries set up would take a million years to pay off. I think the best ending the show could have would be one that fits into the show's reincarnation theme, that nothing ever really begins or ends and is just an endless cycle of life, death and rebirth. Maybe the Lich finally get's the last laugh and ends Ooo as we know it. Finn, Jake, PB, Marceline, Ice King, Lady, LSP, and the rest of the gang band together and go on one last adventure to stop him but ultimately to no avail. Every character, from the core cast to minor roles, are destroyed. The realm plunges into darkness. But from there a new light emerges, and from the destruction a new world is created, and all our favorite characters take on their reincarnated forms. We obviously wouldn't go on and see what happens next, but we're assured that even when all hope seems lost, nature always has a plan. The post Mushroom War age has ended, and now a new one will begin. On a second note, we have 2 whole seasons to FINALLY tie up loose ends and set up a grand finale. Let's just hope the creators use their time wisely.

After season 5, AT heavily declined, I mean the problems I have with the seasons 6&7 is still there in season 5 (like having plots going everywhere and not touching until 40 episodes later, having episodes about some random character we don't know nor really care about and becoming way too deep without having some sort of fun with it), however there are episodes where they did break from it, but there are a few episodes (especially the last couple of episodes of the season) that are still really bad that keep the season from being as good as the other 4. But hopefully we will be getting a satisfying conclusion to end such an influential and important shoe for Cartoon Network.

correction season 5 wasn't a bad season and season 7 has none of those problems the plot never really went any where because there is n plot it all just episodic episodes that have continuation,and there weren't a lot of c-list character episodes either,and a lot of the deep stuff in season 6 weren't that bad depressing or try that hard to be metaphorical and when season 7 has that fun and zany stuff that people enjoyed in the earlier seasons in all honesty its a series that only gets better

It's not really that the show declined, it's just that it refused to evolve. Seven seasons in and it's still just as unfocused as season 1. There's only so much of random adventuring a person can take when there are more interesting things AT can focus on. Look at Avatar - I think that's a perfect example of a show that evolved. Season 1 didn't have all that much focus. It was mostly just random adventures in this fantastical world. And that was perfectly fine, for the time being. But then Season 2 came and storytelling in general just improved. The status quo-shattering Season 1 finale was not wasted (Zuko stopped being the main villain, Zhao was killed and in his place came Azula). Compare that to Adventure Time - Season 5 finale introduced Finn's dad and Finn lost his arm. So what did they do with that? Nothing! Fucking nothing! Six episodes later Finn gets his arm back! The father shows up a few more times and then he just fucks off!

I own the first five seasons of Adventure Time on DVD, I need to finish season four, then move on to five. I keep hearing starting with season five things go down hill, but I think they are exaggerating-partly because, to me the show also seemed strange, cute, and of course, adventurous! I love Finn, Jake, and Marceline, but if I gotta say good-bye soon, so be it-it had a good run and will always be favorite among others like Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Legend of Korra!:)

For me, Adventure time will always be known as "The spiritual successor of Dexter's Laboratory'" being that it was the king of CN. While apart of me is sad, I'm more satisfied that it's ending and excited in what the future holds in store for Pendleton Ward. Maybe he'll have another series pitch to Nick, and this time they won't be a dick by not only greenlighting it but giving him creative control, thus leading into Nick experiencing their own renaissance.

My main problem with Adventure Time was that I was waiting for the story or the world to pass a point of no return that never came. The show loves to remain relatively stagnant. Any time something big happens, sooner or later, the status quo goes back to normal for most of our cast. Finn has a girlfriend? Make him single again. Finn lost an arm? It grows back. PB gets overthrown? Back on the throne within a week. Most long-term plots like Betty, The Lich, and Martin have to leave the show in order to keep the status quo flowing. To the point where they have almost no impact on the show aside from otherwise useless development that the characters get over rather quickly anyway. I'm okay with the show becoming less funny as long as it gets more interesting in return, but it never does. It just gets longer. The show has gotten longer, not better.

I never took interest in this show. It was just too... "weird" for me I guess. Like, I suppose the show's fantastical "anything can happen" setting was not something I was a fan of. It's super clear seeing the impact it left though. Regardless of whether the movie is plot heavy or not, I'll probably see it just to have some kind of personal closure to the show.

I have to catch up to adventure time because I stopped watching most of the show around the beginning of season 5. I loved the Marciline episodes mostly. Adventure Time defiantly helped bring Cartoon Network back from the shit zone it was. It also helped other shows that are going to take their place like Steven Universe, Clarence, etc. I think Steven Universe will be the Adventure time's "successor". Also Justin Roiland worker on Adventure Time and that did lead the way for the greatest shows of the 2010s like Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, Steven Universe, etc. I would love to see another Penaldton Ward show. I have seen a couple episodes here and there but I don't think they are too great, so I'm not too upset its ending. But I'm glad the show existed and has been so influential.

gumball is the best cn show ever made WHEN it decides to get serious, its very much like a prodigy with severe attention deficit disorder. some episodes are truly emmy worthy while others are just borderline irrelevant. i dont like the direction that they are taking for su, mainly because the animation quality is getting wonkier and the fandom is nothing but a gigantic hype generator, and as you know hype destroys absolutely everything, with gumball its already very inconsistent to begin with so sometimes i expect something out of an episode i get nothing sometimes i expect nothing and i get episodes like nicole anime fight/parking/darwins origin story ect.......

The show kinda went bad in season 6 for me.There were some good episodes but there were also a lot of episodes that went nowhere.CN's golden era seems to be coming to an end with some of their great shows.It had to come eventually.

Nessie The Lochness Monster This is just my opinion, but PPG2016 is very boring and mediocre, while TTG is THE ABSOLUTE MOST OFFENSIVE, HARMFUL children's cartoon to ever exist, its main goal being to offend fans of the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon and ruin the personalities of the main characters. Mighty Magiswords is decent, but Steven Universe and We Bare Bears are the only truly-great shows left on Cartoon Network.

Guy Simchony Well in my POV, the first two seasons may not have had strong story telling, but it was very simple and straight forward. The plots didn't get too crazy or weird, the first two seasons were very solid and stable. Than when we got to season 3 to now, the whole Jake gets kids, Fin's love triangle, and Ice King went from a villain to a complete joke!
