$0 fine. Really. Someone paid it. Why? I don’t understand. My only accidents have been with old people. One was sitting at a red light and legit suddenly decided to drive straight through it and t boned me. Kept saying it was MY fault even when the cop explained based on the damage it wasn’t physical possible. She was so insistent she got a reckless driving fine. That man should not have paid it. She doesn’t think she did anything wrong and blamed the car. She’s just going to drive again. They should need to be retested at a certain age. Cant convince me a 16 year old is a bigger danger then she is.

I agree, but as a disabled person..i can understand why the older folks drive. No one really wants to take the time to give someone a ride and if they do..it sure isnt going to be for free. Public transportation is only in certain areas but i am a hospice patient and have a O² tank, it is tough to get that tank up bus stairs and navigate it. I feel bad for the older folks truly

Bro same here. Telling people for years there should be a driver's renewal test every so often especially for the U.S. since old age can definitely be a harmful factor in driving. Machines keep getting faster and more powerful while we keep getting slower and weaker to the point where some people (just like in this video) can't even control their car.

Lawd, she can barely stand upright with her lil cute self...That was a really nice gesture on that's guys part, but was it truly a car issue or her? Her license was suspended, so why was she even driving in the first place....Stubborn and set in her ways, determined to hold on to some kind of independence, and I get it, but at what cost, a life?
@newyorktitties8954

she probably has dementia. My mom is starting to get it real bad. They lose all considering for others and lack empathy and sympathy. They have no self awareness and tend to do whatever they feel like in the moment regardless of how others feel. The really messed up thing is that they cannot see or admit when they've done wrong , so there's no propensity of correcting the behavior. She'll be driving again and probably kill someone next time.
@bethm5791
@bethm5791 3 жыл бұрын
That’s how I felt. They REALLY need to start retesting the license at a certain age. My ONLY accidents (2) have been with the elderly who were confused. One was sitting at a light and just suddenly decided to run the right light and go straight on through (wasn’t making a turn. Went straight) from being stopped and t boned me. Witnesses stopped thankfully but she legit kept saying I hit her and the cop was like ma’am the way the damage is this girl legit couldn’t have hit you. It’s not possible let alone the witnesses. He gave her a reckless driving charge because she kept insisting. Stubborn as you said. How a 16 year old with a clear mind, likely not on meds that could impair, and solid vision are a larger danger than her is beyond me.

Is she going to get another $100 fine after she kills some kids? Her excuse had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she already had her license suspended. The reckless driving charge itself was completely ignored and she never said she wasn't going to drive again, only "that" car, and probably because it was totaled anyways.

I've told people that if it takes me to age 94 to get my hands on a souped up 72 Nova SS, I'll be racing it. Of course, I know better, but feel sorry for elderly people who feel they need to drive cos they have no one to run errands for them and want some independence. Everytime I hear about someone hitting the accelerator instead of brake and running into a building, I know 9 times out of 10, they are elderly.

I get that elderly people want to hold onto their independence, but realistically, when stuff like this happens, they need to be deemed unfit to drive. When my grandmother was alive, she used to drive a 4 door Galaxy(it was a car). And it was a really long car. As she got older, her driveing got worse. When she was finally moved into an assisted living facility, my mom and my aunts got rid of my grandmother's car.

I seriously think we should have a LAW that makes people turning 65 retake there drivers exam and test... its not blaming them, they are elderly. But most of them loose the reaction time and it’s extremely dangerous for other drivers

At least there are still good people in this country. That was an extremely nice gesture of the man to pay her fine. She needs to stick to cab rides, Uber rides or her Medicare Transportation Services. She doesn't need to be behind the wheel of another car. That's asking for a life to be taken because of her being set in her old ways.

I would feel guilty if I would’ve let my mom - RIP - drive in that age and in that state of mind. I live in Germany in a quite rural area. In many of our villages we have places with benches similar to a bus booth were elderly people can wait for a ride. Prior to Corona it was well used.

Honestly, if you are over 60 you need take a psych evaluation, and various tests to ensure you can still drive. If not, once you turn 60 you get license pulled regardless.
