Great review! The first bag that came to my mind was the Tom Bihn Aeronaut 45. It has nearly identical exterior dimensions but is 45 liters. It costs $300 US and is about a pound lighter. Not sure which one I’d go with. Thanks for the review.

Yep. That’s what I thought too.

Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! and that's a good point, I hadn't really taken a look at the Aeronaut before, but it definitely looks pretty similar! From the images I've seen it seems like the harness system on the capsule pack might be slightly more comfortable, but that's great that the tom bihn bag is lighter, definitely a tough choice between the two!

@@dannypacks The AER version has does look to have a better harness set-up and the additional organization and laptop sleeve are well worth the additional grams. The Aeronaut is a great bag to fit in a ton of clothes, while the AER looks better for the modern digital lifestyle.

Can you kindly compare the smaller version of this the 35L to the smaller version of travel pack? Thanks :)

Nice review! Glad Aer has improved the laptop compartment because the travel pack 2 doesn’t have an elevated bottom to provide enough support.

Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I'm glad the video was helpful and I agree on the laptop compartment, I really like the implementation here and hope to see it in more of Aer's bags in the future! =)

Amazing and thorough review! This bag is another impressive product by Aer, it looks really interesting to me and has a little more space than the Travel Pack, which I like.

Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! and I agree really nice to see Aer continuing to put out really interesting bags and offer something with a little more space for people that like to travel with additional items or maybe for a longer period of time =)

Love the videos. It’s great to see all the nooks and crannies. This one may be my front runner right now, but . . . My question - Is there a one bag carry backpack that doesn’t have a laptop pocket and sleeve? I’m looking at 35 to 40 litres but will never, ever carry a laptop. Maybe an ipad mini or kindle, which you can store here or there. All the padding and extra sections for the laptop ends up wasting a lot of space and adding weight in my view. Any “non-laptop” bags out there? If not, do I just ignore that space or is there a way to use it? Thanks, and keep up the great work.

Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the videos have been helpful! If you don’t need to take a laptop with you there are definitely some good options to check out! One that I really like is the Nomatic travel bag which is about 40l and it does have a laptop sleeeve but it takes up almost no space and the bag is super versatile! Another good option might be something like the incase tracto split duffel or the north face base camp duffels! Those are really durable and have a lot of space they just don’t have a ton of organizational options. One that a few people have mentioned is the Tom Bihn aeronaught which I haven’t had a chance to try myself but it looks pretty good. The last option I’ll mention here is maybe something like the osprey farpoint 40 which has a laptop sleeve but doesn’t really take up much space if you choose to not use it or just throw your iPad in there. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

Traveling Salseros The nomatic is on my list. I will take another look. Tom Binh is not for me. A couple other ideas I will look into. I appreciate you taking the time to answer!

The bag this most reminds me of that I would say would be similar has to be the Tom Bihn Aeronaut. This one does have some slightly different features that I'm digging like the end pockets not being so roomy and cutting into the main compartment as bad and the laptop sleeve. It honestly kind of fixes a lot of the problems I have with that bag including the price point. Of course Tom Bihn is worth What you pay but it's just not the bag I think I'd grab often enough to spend that kind of money. This one is much more economical.
@dannypacks4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and that's a great point on the similarities to the Aeronaut. I haven't had a chance to test that one out yet, but it seems like this could definitely be a compelling alternative for people that were interested in that bag!
@lynnb25624 жыл бұрын
@@dannypacks definitely. I got to say though there is just something about this bag that is calling me more than that one. I don't know if it's the style or just the fact that it feels like the main compartment has more space, but I'm really digging this bag.

Your reviews have been awesome and I narrowed it down between tis Aer capsule and the osprey farpoint 40. Since you tried both, which is more comfortable for an hour + of carrying around?
@dannypacks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the videos have been helpful! Both are really comfortable, I might give a slight edge to the osprey on the harness, but the aer is still pretty comfortable and I prefer the materials, aesthetic and organizational options on it

love the reviews...looking for a few bags. already know my edc (aer daypack for home and tortuga outbreaker daypack for travel) However i am torn between the aer travel pack 2, tortuga divide and tortuga setout 35L. I tend to pack more than a minimalist. What is your opinion for a 5 day 1 bag travel? Comfort is essential
@dannypacks4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! Good choices for your edc and I think any of those travel bag options could work well for that type of trip! I’m also not the most minimalist packer and comfort is super important. Both are pretty comfortable (although I would give a slight edge to the Setout) so I think it comes down to weather resistance and price. If you want something a little more weather resistant and you have a higher budget I would go with the Aer but if you want to save a little and are looking for something maybe slightly lighter the Setout may be the way to go. Between the Setout 35 and the divide I would lean slightly towards the 35 as it’s a simpler layout and gives a little extra space especially if you have the outbreaker day pack with you during your trip. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer!:)

Great videos and very informative! I’m currently trying to decide between the Aer Capsule Max and Tortuga Setout 35L for a trip around SE Asia. I’m looking for a comfortable wear, durability and practicality. Any advice would be really appreciated, as I’m in desperate need of a decision! Haha
@dannypacks3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and tough choice between the two for sure! Both are going to be very durable and comfortable although I would give a slight edge in comfort to the Tortuga since it can be adjusted a bit more and I also think the sailcloth material is a little more weather resistant. As far as capacity I would say the capsule pack can hold a bit more due to its simpler layout. So between the two if you prefer to have more control over how the bag fits you, you plan on walking around with the bag for long periods of time and you would like some additional organizational options I would go with the Tortuga but if you need something that’s going to offer extra space and flexibility for packing than the capsule pack may be a bit better. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

I bought the 35L version and loving it, i saw measurements and passed for an international carry on sizing. My question is can this be my personal then i can carry another carry on rolling luggage?
@dannypacks4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and glad to hear you have been enjoying the bag! Unfortunately I think even the smaller version would be a bit too big to pass as a personal item and would like be considered a carry on bag on most airlines. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)

I do believe the 40L is the MAX carry on size internationally hence the name. 22 x 14 x 9. I have the Peak Design Travel Bag and I’m considering this one for more packing room. I wish AER would make a variant of the travel pack that is 40L because that style would work better for me but for the size I could use this one. Especially like the idea of having load lifter straps and duffle and messenger capabilities.

Hi, which would fit more stuff, the tortuga setout 45 or this capsule 40? Kind of a dumb question but this capsule doesnt seem to fit too many things in its main compartment. Also does this capsule fit much more stuff than the aer travel pack 2? Thank you so much.
@dannypacks3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and good questions! I haven’t had a chance to test out the 45L outbreaker but based on my experience with the 35l I would say it can probably hold a similar amount to the capsule pack. The main compartment in the 40l capsule pack is really pretty spacious and it can hold a good amount more thank the travel pack 2. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

@dannypacks4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! If you wanted to use the suspended and fleece lined sleeve then I think it would be a a littl too tight a fit for a 17 inch especially if it’s a thicker device. Put "Japanese" next to a the description of a bag and it still means this is an unnecessary addition to the Aersf line, with questionable aesthetics.
