If I could use the Affinity Suite at work, I would gladly switch over. Their software is very elegant and still has Pantone! I needed a Pantone color a few weeks ago while in Illustrator and had to use another color altogether. Ya better believe more people will switch to Affinity, and this would be a good thing! Appreciate your video, new Sub!

Hi there, I was just looking for the Pantone Solid Uncoated swatches but can't find them in Affinity Designer. Is it perhaps named something else? I see a few options but not sure which one to use. Thanks for your time.

if they charge for Pantone colors it will be the end of Pantone. It won’t happen overnight but it will definitely happen.

I don't know, most all print shops still use ink and presses... CMYK is easy to replace, but spot colors not so much. All companies that use specific spot colors in their logos/ products will still rely on Pantone. It is a huge market to overcome.

@@LeeSergent I know what you mean, but they create a huge opportunity for others to try and replace the spot color standard. I’ve seen this happen in multiple industries already. Tell the new generations, and current students they won’t see a pantone until they can afford the 15$/month and see what happens in 10 years from now. I can still use them because I have affinity designer though and I know there’s people coming out with workarounds for Adobe apps which I need to explore.

@@DigitallyFearless After introducing a subscription model where it is not needed and the inability to own a copy, there is always a competitor who sees the pain of the market and the inconvenience for people. The competitor simply does what is more convenient and profitable for people. So they gradually gain trust and take over the market. Adobe is in for a disaster in the future. It is already happening. From them there is a large outflow of customers to alternative platforms. Imho. 😎
