Hey up Dan, The instructions are correct for the telescopic magnet with LED, if read correctly. It says to take the batteries out of the plastic container then put them back in in reverse. Then put the plastic holder with the batteries reversed into the tool. Or that's how I read it ATB

@johnwood346Ай бұрын
You made a wise choice with the drill I have the cordless one as a second for home as my primary is at work The cordless is gutless and not worth having as and when aldi have the ferrex twin set in stock I shall be aquireing them as my work zone one is excellent
@alansutton2980Ай бұрын
I only recently discovered your videos Dan and find them unique and very useful. I'm getting back into railway modelling after a long gap but this time in n gauge because of space limitations. I'll need some new tools to get me going and the price of the hammer drill is amazing and I'll be looking for one of these in the near future, the callipers look really good so they'll also be on my list. Excellent video, thank you.
@worstusereverАй бұрын
Popped in for a look at our new local Aldi and grabbed a pack of those clamps for just £3.99! Nothing there indicating the price had been higher, but even 7 quid is pretty good for the biggest ones alone. Cordless tools these days are great but a decent mains drill is handy when you can't justify buying an SDS but have occasional jobs needing a bit of sustained brutality, like pipe run for an outside tap. Yeah, Lidl and Aldi brochures this week are nothing but dull Christmas junk - we need our fix of mad random hobby gear. 🙃
@claptneiАй бұрын
The digital calipers look good and made of metal unlike my plastic ones.
@philkenny2099Ай бұрын
Great value for the drill but no lidl near me and as you say not many tools in aldi at the moment. Great video
@robe-bi2bzАй бұрын
I live about 150 yards from a branch of Lidl and have just returned from shopping there. The drills etc. are all empty boxes as a security measure, which is irritating as I like to handle something before buying. Most of the smaller stuff has been replaced on the shelves by Xmas stuff so roll on January. Keep up the good work Dan.
@JohnHenderson-qv5nxАй бұрын
I agree with your comments about the tools sold without batteries or chargers. They do not even offer a starter pack which would contain a Tool, Battery & Charger which would allow you to walk away with an operable system, you could then add additional items and batteries as required. As you remarked you bought a £20 drill which was plug and play no additional items needed.
@tony5006Ай бұрын
If they put tools complete with battery and chargers on the shelves they would get stolen, no doubt about it. Maybe they should have such a kit where you just have to collect the battery and charger at the till included in the price. Simple enough to do surely?
@neilthompson5217Ай бұрын

£20 for a hammer drill, my LidL is full of Christmas that at the moment. I need to go to your Lidl and Aldi. Cheers Dan
@LawrenceDaley-s2u2 ай бұрын
I agree with you, Dan. When first starting out in life or work, it's what you can afford, and when it finally wears out back track then divide the costs by the months owned, and you'll probably find that they work out better value than a much dearer option. Plus, you tend to use and abuse cheaper products as they seem to be made indestructible!
@pikrickyАй бұрын
I wondered why you removed the plastic sleeve from the telescopic led magnet as it was insulating the batteries from the metal housing,like you said bad instructions,another enjoyable video Dan,congratulations to your latest giveaway winners and good luck to your viewers for the next one 👍

The amount of tools I’ve had from Lidl over the years! They are cheap and surprisingly good. My late father in law was a big fan of them and I inherited quite a few from him. The only items I’ve been disappointed with have been their shop vacuums, none of which have lasted more than a year or two. All the best, Rob

Hi Dan! Love watching these tool review videos! Don't think I've ever commented before, but I had to say that I was shouting at the screen when you were having problems with the Inspection Tool batteries! I too read it that you needed to insert the batteries without the plastic case, but after rereading, I realised that they'd put them in upside down to prevent power drain while in the box! Keep up the great videos! All the best, Ian.

That electric drill seems a bargain. I have noticed how the battery operated tools in Lidl always have separate battery and charger to purchase which really pushes up the price. I have a Powerfix digital caliper that I bought in 2010. Checked now and battery fine and works OK. Yes, fully padded box. Very useful what you do.

Can't fault these videos, Dan. I'm a huge fan of your railway output, but understand why these videos are so popular. I have a set of the Lidl calipers, which are very useful when modelling. I was shouting at the screen when I saw you put the batteries in the extender without the plastic cover, thinking it won't work 😆. I live in France (if I won something I would get you to send it to one of my kids in the UK), we have Aldi & Lidl, but we have 2 other shops that we can get cheap tools. One is called Action who does small things for the home, tools, toys, craft, etc. The other is called Noz, who sell liquidation stuff, you could find anything, a bit like a jumble sale. Great video, thank you.
