I had just met my husband in 2007, when he told me I should listen to AFI and Sing the Sorrow (13 years married now), he was working as an artist in LA and hanging around the same clubs as these guys (and actually met Davey as well in LA, told me he was super nice), and at that time I was still going to art school in Finland and barely knew anything of AFI except that I had maybe seen one of their music videos on TV (Miss Murder), the imagery of that video kinda stuck with me. Catchy song too. It's actually a really good fucking song. I love the album as well, Decemberunderground, but for some reason... Crash Love is my favorite. My husband has been telling me that one day he will own this album on vinyl, and... been listening to that vow for a while now. I just bought it for him as a surprise ♥ I don't know when/how I will give it to him though. His birthday is coming up in March, but I don't think I can keep it as a secret for so long. So I think I will just give it to him as a thank you for... being him, and sticking with me for so long and encouraging me to be who I am ♥ And I think I just wanna tell him that year 2020 is the year, when you became the owner of Sing the Sorrow, so something good came out of this wretched time :P And I suppose the title of that album frames the picture of 2020 well too. Hope you have an atomic 2021 ...and time flies, when you're having fun in life ♥ Just an observation.

I saw them in concert for the first time 10 years ago when i was 15 years old. I was OBSESSED with them when i was a teenager. I got to meet Davey(singer) and Adam(drummer) after the concert and got both their autographs(still have them to this day). Anyway when Davey came out i couldn't breathe and couldn't speak because I had a massive crush on him. I mentioned the sign i held up during the concert and he said he saw it and liked it. Btw guys Davey is short. I stand 5'7 and he was maybe an inch or 2 taller then me. After i got his autograph i said to him "I love you!" and he smiled. I will never forget that day and am still stoked i met him.

this band literally saved my life. I wouldn't be here without these guys. in a time of hell and torment, from so called "Christian" family, from the kids at school, from mean Christians at school, from relationships, these guys were literally there to resonate with. I would be able to wake up each morning from listening to bands like them, and other bands who I could feel joy in the pain. I know God allowed or brought these guys in my life, or whatever you want to call it, to support me through times when no one else would, through music as a sense of solace. Forever and always 🔥♥️♠️

I'll lay me down tonight Much further down Swim in the calm tonight This art does drown (What follows) me as the whitest lace of light (Will swallow whole) just begs to be imbrued? (What follows) has led me to this place where I belong, with all erased What follows All insects sing tonight The coldest sound I'd send God's grace tonight Could it be found? (What follows) me as the whitest lace of light (Will swallow whole) just begs to be imbrued? (What follows) has led me to this place where I belong, with all erased I'll lay me down tonight Much further down Watch stars go out tonight On sinking ground I'll lay me down, I'll lay me down (What follows) me as the whitest lace of light (Will swallow whole) just begs to be imbrued? (What follows) has led me to this place where I belong, with all erased What follows will swallow whole What follows will swallow whole

I was 32 when this came out. I remember hearing this on the radio for the first time- instant love. I had missed the DJ announcing who sang it. Man, that used to always piss me off. I repeated it in my head constantly until I got home and jumped on my computer and found it. I remember thinking, “How cool is that? I didn’t have to call any of my friends and try to sing it to them in the hopes that they knew it! Hell! I don’t even have to try to hear again the radio!”, oh ha ha. I grew up before the internet so I remember how hard it used to be to track down a good song before the internet.
