Regarding the remote mirror, it looks like they haven't changed it, my 2018 Sierra only does it if I hold the lock button down on the remote after I set it in the menu. Or maybe it's a glitch and it is supposed to do it every time. My wife's Mazda stows the mirrors automatically, which I prefer, although you need to be careful in the winter - if it's crusted over with ice it can get stuck.

You might have to take the truck back to the dealer and have them reload the software for the mirror issue. Have you tried locking the truck and then holding down the lock button? I'm curious how well EVs function in cold weather. Will it reduces battery life? What about heating?
@jghall002 жыл бұрын
Cold weather saps the range. My EV is a 2017 with 100 miles of range and I lose around 30% of my range between running the heater and cold temps outside. Keeping the battery conditioned using L2 charger at home mitigates the loss somewhat. For a daily driver, it's not really an issue since new EVs have well over 200 miles of range and will be topped off at home. For road tripping, depends on charging infrastructure, distance, and speed.
@joshuarosen4652 жыл бұрын
Depends on the heating system. With resistance heat you can lose 40% of your range, with a heat pump you lose much less than that. The new Tesla's have heat pumps, older ones had resistance heaters

300 Kw means nothing to most of us, why don't you guys make a video explaining how power and charge is measured on electric vehicles? Thanks for creating awesome videos.
@MatthewHashim2 жыл бұрын
Maybe they can also map it back to a comparison with gasoline fuel efficiency for a modern truck? Especially as real-world MPGe don't seem to match EPA estimates, sometimes half less than predicted. A point of reference, the Hummer EV has more than twice the battery of a Tesla Plaid, nearly 100kWh larger than Rivian, and similar range as both. The Hummer is/was never about efficiency, but massive vehicle, massive power, and massive power usage. 300kW is an incredible amount of energy. Most home level 2 chargers produce less than 10kW, depending on setup and vehicle. An average home central air uses about 4-5 kW of energy, similar to an electric oven.
@tazeat2 жыл бұрын
They do have a number of videos on the subject. But kW is a measure of power, kWh is measure energy which is simply a power for a given amount of time (ie the 215kWh battery of the Hummer could theoretically put out 215kW for a time of 1 hour before it runs out). A space heater usually maxes about 1800W or 1.8kW, so being able to accept 300kW is a lot of power during charging. Many many standard households worth of power while charging.

It doesn’t take “several days” to charge this. That would be like saying if you filled up your duramax truck with diesel through a straw it would take DAYS. Yeah, maybe it would, but what idiot would do that? With the HummerEV, it’s unlikely anyone would be foolish enough to charge it from 0-100% first of all, and if they did, they wouldn’t do it with 120V power.

@@SuzukiKid400 yes, it takes several days to recharge! You’ve also made some false equivalencies there, bud. You just lost all credibility!

I’m surprised that you would say that Tesla does not offer self driving. From the videos I have watched, Teslas can drive themselves on any street, not just a few designated roads. If this is incorrect, perhaps you could explain why all the FSD videos on KZbin are showing the incorrect story.

When do you have to return it for battery replacement according to the recall?

Coming soon to a GM near you

What do you do when RWS breaks? You repair it! Everyone is so worried about it breaking on trucks it’s not a big deal… I have a 20 year old quadrasteer and it still works fine.

1.3 Tons the battery and the range off road or towing is ... miserable. The tech for 4x4 overlanding is not ready. And how you modify a electric vehicle, it will be quite expensive 😔

I have seen 2 of these Hummer EV's here locally. How are they charging them at home if 2 phase residential electricity takes 4 days to fully charge?

The hummer brand is done. Engineers did a terrible job. They rushed to market and it shows in this video.

800V architecture... does that mean the cells in the battery pack are set up to add to 800V.. isnt that like 6-700 cells in series??
@Gmac7052 жыл бұрын
Pretty much, yes. Depending on the I individual cell volt it might me more like half that. But still a ton of cells in series to hit that voltage.
@jjknott15912 жыл бұрын
About 215 in series, assuming 3.7 volts per cell
