Seems like this one is going to be a good one 😊. OP should feel guilty because she didn't have grandma's back. OP got what she deserved.

Op was incredibly stupid, it's crazy how some people are so desperate for a parental connection they'll disregard everything else, Op directly shortened her poor grandmother's life, how is this person and lawyer and be such an idiot?

This so called Attorney is dumb as a wet rock! How does an Attorney see a video of a woman putting drugs into her food and not throw her out and report her to the police? How does she give a stranger access to her vital legal paperwork? How does a person who had time to go to law school not report a kidnapping? This much negligence on her part is clearly unbelievable!

We are supposed to believe OP is working as a lawyer; but is still so stupid to not inform the authorities about the "drug"in the food. BS

I agree. OP is so blind and is to be blamed for everything that happened to her grandmother, the woman who raised her. She was "easily" fooled by her bio mother and allowed her to take over her life. I have no sympathy.

You couldn’t do good for your grandmother, but you can do better for someone else’s grandmother. Call the nursing home and find out if anyone there needs help with their bill or doesn’t have anyone to visit

I believe that father and grandmother should not have lied to OP at least once she was old enough to understand. Like maybe 12 years old. If she had known that she had been abandoned by Mother, perhaps she wouldn’t have been fooled so badly

I can understand how OPs mom messed with OPs mind. Grief forms a weak spot so people can easily worm their way in. I think her mom knew this and knew this was a good time to strike. When I got to the part about giving 'mom' credit card to buy stuff and an allowance I was 'oh no no no, don't do it!' I had a point in my life were people wormed their way into my good heart while i was suffering from grief.

This was a sad story. One cannot turn back time after life has ended. I wished the grandmother lived long enough to see OP saw the light and was doing all she can to get her back home. I would feel guilty if I was in OP's situation. Trusting a person who you always wanted in your life (mother) and not trusting the woman who care for her. One way to do something for her grandmother and make up the guilt (in time), OP can volunteer at the nursing home once a week or more and visit the elderly who do not have family to visit them. OP could not do it for her grandmother, but in her honor, she can help and be a companion to other elderly who is by themselves. I was surprised OP falling for this scheme her mother did and why she came back into her life, especially after her father died and could not advise you the true story about her mother. I realized it was best her father and grandmother told a lie then telling OP her mother chooses a different life then stay with her child. Knowing her mother died and keeping a better image of her mother. Where was she during these 26 years. She could have come back into her daughter's life, and everyone involved can air out the past and start a new beginning if the mother was sincere. I was surprised that OP was an attorney. I thought because of their job and the many stories the clients come in with, an attorney needs to be open minded and sense when something is not right with a person's story. I assume the situation with her mother and after her father passing away, her mind was clouded, and it probably comforted her to have a parent in her life. I wished her grandmother could have lived a little longer for the granddaughter to apologize and bring her back home. What is the responsibility of the nursing home and not questioning the signed in person who is responsible/next of kin for the grandmother's decisions. How can someone just change the guardianship (without legal proof) of the grandmother and not mention it to the granddaughter? Possibly the nursing home saw the granddaughter bring in her mother (the grandmother's child) to visit the grandmother and felt all was well in the situation of letting the mother and grandmother exit the facility. Possibly the grandmother being sent to the nursing home, the granddaughter only visiting once a week, that her mind deteriorating, and she was giving up on her life. Or maybe her grandmother was being medicated by her own daughter on her visits unknown to the granddaughter. I do not know why the grandmother did not question leaving with her daughter without the granddaughter's knowledge or the granddaughter's wishes. As for the prison term of 14 years for the mother, did that included taking/kidnapping the granddaughter and asking ransom/blackmail for her safety and return, stealing her daughter's money by taking advantage of the trust she gave her mother with her credit cards, running the household and the drugging the food for her daughter (I wonder if the mother had falsified her daughter's will that she be the beneficiary if she passes away). 14 years was not enough. Judging her actions, her past actions, I a sure she is probably wanted elsewhere for wrong deeds. I am afraid this granddaughter will need to seek psychological, help, she probably will have trust issues, help her to understand what happened and how she fell for the story her mother had (and neglecting the knowledge from her grandmother, who raised her, and she was not even her father's mother who would not lie to her because she would want the best for her granddaughter and the grandmother would know the selfishness of her own daughter and the life she lead), to forgive herself and live a happy and good life as her father and grandmother would want her to have.
