For me, I never saw that Erica actually hated Kendall, even after all that she did. I have a lot of my mom's old VHS recordings of this. Even when Kendall was saying that she hated Erica for all of her reasons, Erica never said she hated Kendall. I remember, at most, when she was accused of hating her own kid, Erica said "I hate what she has become". So yeah, I think she hated who Kendall was choosing to be, how Kendall came to be, but there was also a lot of guilt she felt with Kendall too.

I wasn't even trying to comment on what Erica deserved and her treatment of Kendall. All I was saying was I never felt Erica hated her and even after Kendall did what she did, even though Erica disowned her, she still felt guilty. There's a huge spectrum between the kind of love Kendall sought from Erica and hate. It feels like we're having different discussions so I don't want to take over the comments with saying the same thing over. If you'd like to continue, I'd be happy to PM :)

Alia Q well, Sarah was only 16 here and they aged the character to 23. Which made Erica 37 in this clip. Later when Alicia Minshew took over the role, they de-aged Kendall making this time frame 93-95 Kendall a teenager, making Erica much younger. They never said how old Kendall was but she is 14 years younger than her mother. The show started in 1970 where Erica was 15. So when the show ended in 2011, Erica was 56 and Kendall was 42.

Hey :) I've seen all the episodes, including that clip, and I know why Kendall was so angry. Kendall’s definitely my favourite character but I disagree that Erica manipulated it to make her look bad. During all this, Erica was definitely angry, suspicious, and horrified by Kendall, which fueled Kendall’s hurt. Anyway, I was just trying to say that I never felt that Erica hated Kendall. She never said she hated her but hated who Kendall was becoming. I thought it was a nice touch of complexity.

I don’t think she ever hated her, even when she felt she did. She hated what she represented (the rape, and the fact that her father set the whole thing up). She actually felt responsible for what Kendall was becoming. She said at one point that maybe if she had held Kendall and loved her when she was born, that Kendall wouldn’t have turned out the way she did.

........part 2........kendall got bianca away from richard. when she realised what he was going to do to bianca, kendall ran to the bathroom and threw up. after kendall got bianca out of there, mona showed up. richard and mona got into a verbal confrontation and richard had a heart attack. Mona sat and watched him die. not lifting a finger to help him.

Because Kendall thought Erica was lying about her father. She made it seem like he wasn't a rapist to the world so Kendall believed she was lying. Kendal tracked down her father, Richard Fields, and brought him to Pine Valley, Erica forbad it. and When Kendall did it anyway, she "disowned" her. Kendall wanted to hurt Erica so bad for Erica giving her away. but when Kendall left Bianca alone with Richard and he attempted to rape her, Kendall realized her mistake, by then it was too late.

...part 4.....and kendall wanted to take everything away from erica and destroy her. so it ran real deep. but rumor has it, the animosity between susan lucci and sarah michelle gellar was not entirely scripted. susan saw how good sarah was, and was jealous she would get replaced so susan treated her very badly. thats why sarah left the show. to this day sarah and susan are not friends. thats why sarah wasnt in any scenes with susan in 2011.

Please! I’m willing to bet Susan was threatened and made life miserable for her. That’s what many of people have said. She was jealous SMG won an Emmy her first or second try and it took Susan 19 nominations to win one Emmy.

It is apparent you are hell bent against Susan Lucci. SmG has had a trepidation fir being difficult regardless of having some friends. SmG S mother was causing the rift and leaking things to the press to promote SMG. There have been strong SMG fans who like to start trouble. There is no need. Both were great actors and both contributed to the others success. I am not going to argue with some one who calls themselves after a soap character. I can tell that you are a very passionate person and feel very strongly about this. But I only reply because I don’t think Susan or Sarah deserve blame when it was really SmG mother stirring the pot to promote SmG

well i was an avid watcher when sarah was on. and i saw how erica told kendall she was unable to love her because she couldnt get over how she was conceived. i dont blame anything that kendall did to erica because erica deserved it, if for not how erica always treated mona. but mona never did to erica what erica did to kendall. rape or no rape. and the way erica spoke to kendall..no one deserves to be spoken to like that.
