This episode is my favourite of the series, it contains numerous quotes that me and my family often reference now in everyday life, like when he says "one big happy joke that I started" which we would often say now if one of us has told a joke and the other doesn't quite get it or takes it too seriously!😄😄😄

Oh believe me, if I was to list all the quotes from this episode alone that we still use now I'd be here all night, but Alan saying "you shouldn't laugh at my face" is another one we use, "get the pipers back on!" Is another , and sometimes we also say "you gotta let these things go Alan!" if one of us thinks that the other is dwelling on the past too much!😄😄😄

@@Whytesnake77 This Time is as good as anything that has been done with the AP character. He's so desperate to be accepted by the beeb again and shows that slimy duplicitous hypocrite which was largely absent from Mid Morning Matters. MMM was also a great show as it showed him at his most jaded and complacent, the complete opposite to his frantic desperate presentation on This Time. I'm not just saying this because I'm a fan but everything that's been made for the Alan Partridge character has been solid funny af satire of the highest order. The evolution of the character from the original Radio4 series to the present day podcasts, books/audio and everything in the middle has given us probably the most well developed comedy creation of all time.

@@hb-fc3jj Nonsense, it's become Alan Partridge doing a caricature of Alan Partridge, there was some realism to the character in the early shows like this and the first series of "I'm Alan Partridge" it went down hill after that. The writing has never been as good, "This Time" was a load of shite, there's only so many times you can tell the same joke.

Partridge has a tremendous talent for antagonising all of his guests but he doesn't generally kill them. Strange how I barely remember most of this. I do recall him banging on about some French racing driver being THE SECOND BEST, over and over, but I have not seen it here. Perhaps it was in the Christmas show.
