We're Back at it Guys! The river is slowly dropping to searchable levels and I managed to get out for a quick evening hunt just a few nights ago. The mosquitoes were TERRIBLE, but we found some really neat agates, jasper, and petrified wood pieces.

Oh my gosh, Fantastic finds, Since finding your videos last week, ive been obsessed in trawling our rivers throughout Dartmoor UK finding some great agates etc but so far NONE as exciting as your finds, Next on my agenda is to buy myself a Tumble.. Wishin' I could go to the river today but it's been raining upstream in Wisconsin and Minnesota for the last 3 days and all my beaches and islands are currently being re-stocked, aka, flooded. I'll wait.

@@AgateAngler it's still pretty high up this direction. Rocks are exposed at places that have really wide beaches with a significant slant. But I did some wading, found a few agates, and some AMAZING jasper!

Before I got sick I would go on rock hunts for my bonsai trees. Never showed them, but know what I like, same with the rocks. Enjoy your videos, thanks for doing them.

I used to live and work in Williston ND. The business was located on a dirt road. I used to walk up and down this road and collect Agates & Petrified wood. I am not sure where the dirt came from, but it must have come from Montana. I would use a gallon size storage bag and fill about half full. Then I would tumble them. Keep on doing what you are doing.

I wanna be there! See so many pretty rocks. I love to find rocks and fossils and do have some nice ones in Tn. Those rocks are way more colorful, I'd have aw many as I could carry. I love finding heart shaped rocks..have hundreds. Thanks for sharing!

How fun to be one of the first to walk along the newly turned over rock bed. You found some goodies, but the waterline agate was my favorite. Yes, sometimes while watching I wish I could reach out through my screen and pick up something I like. 😊 Kip was enjoying the day too. 🐕

You are smarter than me! I hunted a river a few days ago and have about 30 mosquito bites to prove it. It’s always worth it though lol. I was so jazzed watching you find!! You have some great pieces of wood, and those agates are fantastic!!

Thanks for watching! It is hard with those darn "Skeeters", but well worth it. Long sleeves are a must and lots of bug spray. Glad you enjoyed.

Hi Alex I could see leaving the river bank would be hard with all that new exposed rock out there to hunt through . There are sometimes rocks you go by that I would like to see or scoop but the ones you do take are equally amazing :) I do not want to see you getting eaten by mosquitoes though :) Maybe try "bike guards" or just elastics around the bottom of your pants and a mosquito hat with net so you don't become lunch. You and yours have a wonderful weekend too :)

Beautiful finds, but, you forgot... and over there... (heeeheehee) If you listened to us you wouldn't just need a bigger backpack, you'd need a stack of 5 gal buckets every time you go out. lol That waterline is awesome! Have you ever tried Tea Tree Oil as a skeeter repellent? It works for me, and it doesn't take much. I put it in a pocket size spray bottle and re-apply about every 3 hrs. or as needed. I also start taking a Garlic supplement in April, skeeters Hate Garlic. Between the two, I might get 15 bites a year, the skeeters may land but 99% don't bite. Again, Thank You for sharing... Those mosquitoes are horrid! Maybe you're going to have one of thosecloth wrapped torches that you soaked in citronella oil just to be able to hunt LOL. And yes you you don't hear me telling you which rocks I want you to pick up. I always see some in the background that I would definitely to at least look at. But what you did pick up is absolutely gorgeous.

I sculpt driftwood and make different things from the peices and I'd like to check out the driftwood there and I'm wanting to start making stuff from the different stones there like the Jasper and Agate and all of them really I've got to get a trip planned to that place and get some materials for the different projects I've in mind I know where I'm going for vacation thanks for the videos really enjoy them

So besides mosquitoes what other wildlife have you run into while rock hounding? Do you carry pepper spray for bears? Lovely stones!

Thanks for watching Anita. I normally encounter deer, foxes, ducks, woodpeckers, songbirds, muskrats, beavers, and so on. I have only ever seen one bear down on this part of the river so I do not normally carry bear spray.

Personally I'd take bands and fortifications all day over moss, but they both rock in their own ways. How are you doing man? Any good finds lately?
