awesome! I train a lot of soccer players, and unilateral plyos are what I notice to help a lot and give the best results. They worked for me playing in college, and they work for my athletes right now.

How do you train fitness for a goalkeeper?
@PowerLuxFitness4 жыл бұрын
@@ritwikmukherjee3572 If by fitness you mean the cardio aspect, then I'll either do drills with limited rest time or train them with short sprints that work on their acceleration. That position works within 5-18 yards, and they really never need to be able to run more than let's say 20 yards (unless you're Manuel Neuer). So when the training is getting to be sports specific, I'd just work with short sprints and a low-moderate recovery (simulate a game). However, during the off season, if you want to do a little bit of aerobic work to build up work capacity and improve recovery rate, then you can totally do that. But for me, I find that just training within the realm of "position requirements" works the best, and adjusting recovery, length of sprint, reps, etc. is the best bet. Lastly, especially for goal keepers and depending on the age, just doing acceleration drills, change of direction drills, and agility drills, in addition to normal practices, can cover fitness training.

@@PowerLuxFitness thank you. I am a goalkeeper, I play in India 2nd div. I would request one more help. Some advice on gym training to improve my single leg jump and goal kick power .
@PowerLuxFitness4 жыл бұрын
No problem, that’s awesome you get to play over there! To increase single leg strength, I do a lot of squats to build up bilateral strength first, and then you can also do unilateral exercises. I see great results with lunges, Bulgarian split squats, front foot elevated squats, and pistol squats to a bench. I have a bunch of training videos on my channel that show workouts I use with my athletes! And once you increase your leg strength, you’ll see an increase in power as well. Technique and strength are huge for kicking power.
@PowerLuxFitness4 жыл бұрын
Sorry I forgot to add that by increasing your single leg strength and doing some plyometrics to work on force absorption, decreasing ground contact time, and power production, you’ll increase your single leg jump!

Soccer players do a lot of agility work. I like how you broke it down into phases. For younger athletes what is a good to judge how quickly to move onto the next phase.

Great as always) Your videos're really helpful. Do you train soccer goalkeepers? Really wanna see explosive and quickness drills special for this position as there're pretty unusual mechanics of jumping(diving).

Для вратарей ты можешь посмотреть его видосы про explosive movements и 10-40yard dash. Ловить мячей в воздухе это просто реакция и техника.

Would really love ur take on goalkeeper specific training when it comes to football. Seems different from an outfield player since they do less running in a straight line and more quick bursts of power output and a lot of lateral movement
@christopherfowler10102 жыл бұрын
im not a goalie, but id imagine a lot of the stuff that field players do to develop explosiveness and quick feet is also really good for goalies. Just maybe a little more focus on lateral movement with goalies i think
