The news sounds good. The launch payment options seems fine and I would buy it on a monthly basis as a buy-in to the game since its F2P. However, would they introduce more "mandatory" options that you would need then I will just stop playing.

i am an old boomer, subscription model feels right for me. Like FFXIV. What most these games seem to do is remove features from the game, and put them into battle pass. So i will most likely be subscribing to battle pass type thing. Buying lucent, or special outfits is typically something i don't do. I like the idea of buying, and subscribing to a complete game.

Which is why I enjoyed ESO. If you wanted to look cool besides the in game gear you can buy your own skins etc. but you can farm gold and so many other things. You can play that game without a subscription which is a pain in the ass but you can. I’m not sure how throne and liberty is gonna be. It's still completely P2W, there's a little more value for F2P players in that they can access the BP for free and don't have a sub to pay for but game is 1000 percent still giga P2W. Avoid if P2W puts you off.

Battlepass is great. Players should also be able to buy boosters for xp etc and all beneficial in game content. Things like increase storage cap etc.

5:00 no it is not because of how the game is designed at all. It is simply because there's no other ways for them to make any income out of the game. The game is actually that good. It is similar to Guild Wars 2 and the only other way for them to make money would lock content expansions behind pay walls just like in GW2 or ESO but this would kill the population because new MMOs don't have player bases thanks to old MMOs. That was just super unprofessional to say or maybe cuz you don't know that companies have accountants and marketing teams to study such things and give the best solutions for both success and income. This is the best f2p monetization so far. I doubt there's any better unless you kill some devs salaries.

I started with Lineage 2 in 2003 (over 20 years ago and the majority of you weren't even born). At that time there was no pay to win, because access to the game required a monthly subscription. You wanted it and now you can't stop crying..... The MMO genre was destroyed a long time ago, because people no longer know how to Role Play, explore content slowly and gradually. Cross Server Wars will be the Best Content in the game...they'll just have to find a way to serve any returning players with migration tickets and new servers to move to etc....also New Players should never be put in a server that is Tier 2 already and at minimum 4-6 Castle Sieges in..those should be completely optional

Tried the beta thought it was great, but won’t be playing the game because of the P2W elements in PvP. Anything short of making the PvP balanced around the type of weapon you are using won’t be enough to fix this. I can get over PvE pay to win, but not PvP.

I don't hate AGS at all. I think their team are trying to do something good with their games, but TL monetization is just trash. Also, you can create Lucent in game. They have the means to do so, and I bet with you any amount that it's just a checkbox in the higher-level access of the admin tool. Even without the tool, it's a extremly simple thing to add to the game. You made look like it's something amazingly hard to do, and that's not true at all.

My issue is with selling EA already in OBT when many ppl on EU unable to play the game due to fk ton of error, dc, instability servers, server crash, lag spikes, and we already have Lucent seller BOT on EU -,- Also 40 Euro for the smallest pack is overprice also 100 Euro for the highest is LOL. In some country in EU that is pretty much 25% of monthly minimal pay check XD Eat for a month or play early access with probably many issue and QUEUE for 5 days. Hard to decide for sure. :)

It's a huge W, in all aspects. An exclusive server just for Early Access apart from usual servers is a intelligent way to profit without being unfair to players. Seems okay to me. Plus, the 5-day head start for Early Access servers loses significance over time. Within 1-2 months, gear levels will equalize as active players progress faster. Doesn't really matter in the long run, just pick the the server that makes sense to your play style. Large guilds and streamers may prefer EA servers for early competition, while others will select standard servers to face similarly leveled guilds. Smaller servers naturally foster smaller guilds, resulting in appropriately scaled battles.

Here what I know. My first mmo I ever played was ESO. I enjoyed paying a subscription because you get unlimited resources loot bag, all the dlc and other perks. Of course you lose it if you don’t pay that one month for your subscription until you pay again. I’m not sure what the average player would spend on a game like Throne and liberty or black desert online? I just feel like it makes some players lazy if that makes sense? Say you’re in a PvP event and you get rocked and not sure why? It’s probably because this dude or chick has dropped a lot of money into the game and has god tier gear. Is that fair? Doesn’t matter because that’s the style of the game and how it’s designed which is fair. I just hope they don’t try to charge you an arm and leg just to make it through the game. For cosmetics stuff? Sure I would expect a price increase. The reason why p2w mmo’s don’t apppeal to westerners is because they want to be able to grind the game out and know the dedication it took to earn that legendary gear etc. Everyone can take there wallet out and build a op build but how is that fun? Idk. A lot of the gaming companies that make this p2w design just make me feel like they care about the money and not much for the players.

And just because you CAN join a 5 day old server on 'launch' doesn't mean that server won't be LOCKED or something at that point. I'm just wondering, why are Koreans more willing to accept P2W monetizations in games in comparison to Western players? From my perspective P2W games tend to not reward you for your time spent in the game, therefore making the game itself much less fun to play. Do Koreans just enjoy that instant gratification moment from buying something for real money or is there something deeper?

There are many reasons for this, but this is one of them. Koreans are a country where people work a lot compared to other countries. In other words, it's cultural to try to solve it with money because you don't have time to play games. And if you think about it the other way around, in the West, how do people who don't have time solve the gaming gap with people who have a lot of time? Additionally, the monthly fee system or package purchase method is not popular in Korea. Of course, games were developed in this way because there was a strong mentality that they were free.

To be honest Koreans work almost as many hours per year on average per person (OECD, 2017) as people from my country (Poland), but our gaming community generally absolutely despises any traces of P2W mechanics in games. I'd assume it's more cultural after all.

After 5 days on launch day (sept 17) you could join the EA servers as well, only downside is that you'll 5 days behind but let me tell you something... in Korean I started 10 days later and I was top 5 in my weapon-combo in Gate of infinity, in PvE I was able to play smoothly without losing against those players with 10 more days. In PvP I was just your regular bomber trolling around

i didnt reeally follow t&l that much but that blessing think would make sence.. game if f2p right? no subscription .. u can count this blessing as an subscription but buying ingame currency with real money is no thanks for me i might try it for few days if deepends is AoC A2 comes before or after t&l whole market fucked up cuz few whales buying everything..
