I remember working as a server. Some days were awesome others I would go home madder than who knows what. One time a racist family I served was harassing me the whole time and I even told my manager and he had told me at the end of the shift that I was an excellent server and didn't deserve that. I was blessed to make 90-120 bucks a night. My worst day was 20 bucks. But through it all, it made me understand that people work hard. I may not have had all the money in the world but if I saw a server get stubbed, I would sometimes give a piece of my tip to them. Id tip the cooks too if they helped me with an order that wasn't right (the customer didn't like). All in all, I knew I was blessed to be earning. And sometimes others needed it too. It was an amazing experience. I doubt I'd go back to it, but it was a humbling experience.

I know what it's like to be a waiter, I was a waiter at a busy restaurant for 2 years, I got kicked out of home when I was 15 and had to find a way to support myself, so I became a waiter and kitchen hand, it was a tough job. I've seen a few comments here saying its easy "take food to people and serve them" no that's not all we do. We have a lot more dutys then that. I was struggling with work and school so I know what that's like, not being sexist or anything but guys have it tough too, that's all I've seen is the females getting the money? What about that random guy waiter who is waiting on people with a big smile on his face but in his head is thinking of if he gets enough shifts this week to pay for rent at the motel he stays at? Or if he's passing school? Or if he has a future? Give some to the guys too, cause I would have loved to get that to help pay for rent or a new/second hand car or something to help with my future. Yes females have it tough. But so do males. Think of the males too.
