The two episodes show that Sabine's connection to the Force is strongest when she is asleep/unconscious. Ahsoka's ability to sense others' thoughts through the Force (Grogu, Anakin, animals ever since she was a baby) is what made her choose Sabine as an apprentice. My theory, anyways.

I like the idea that she is Force sensitive but maybe only a "little bit" and I love the concept that she could sort of "unlock" her limited abilities with training and dedication. It gives hope to those of us, who as kids, wondered if we could somehow be force sensitive if we only had a master to train us, like Obi-Wan did with Luke in Ep 4. When I saw it in 1977 as a wide-eyed 7 year old, I know I wished that I'd find my Obi-Wan Kenobi to train me and "unlock" my abilities. Also it would be cool to have a character that isn't a god-level Force user, like Luke, Obi-Wan, Anakin-Vader, Palpatine, Windu and Rey.

Long video but the observations from Trial of the Dark Saber were spot on, as well as the episode with the Loth Wolves and Sabine being able to hear them. And I think the aptitude part is also spot on as well as her Mandalorian upbringing and her stubbornness. Had fate somehow intervened and kept Kanan or Ezra around, I think under their guidance Sabine would've had a much much easier time learning her abilities; because she loves them and trusts them. In the Ahsoka finale we see Sabine finally break down the barriers holding her back when Ezra's life is in danger. That's what it took for her to open herself up and use the Force. Great video!

People really skip over on what the word « sensitive « means. The force is in all things meaning that everything has access to it in some shape or form. “sensitive” meaning those who have talent in the force but others like sabine have to train harder and longer and actually discipline more than someone who is sensitive. The franchise has never displayed the force being learned this way because usually we are seeing it from someone who is force sensitive. I’m finally glad we got to see another side. “The force is in all living things “

She's A Mando, A rebel , An artist , a fashionista, A Jedi in training , puzzle solver, a speedster, she wielded the dark saber, She even defied gender norms by having a short haired bob look, colored armor and wacky hair like Holdo. Nothing against the actress who was greatly casted, but unfortunately the character of Sabine is Disney's way to "Mary Sue" the Animated series to entice girly type females to be into Star Wars, as a way to overcompensate for the Gender gap that exists between Males and Females in Hero stories, especially SW. Did it work? Instead of just limiting these attributes, they are piling a check list of qualities to put her character above all the others. No surprise that this is the one they will invest in and carry out her story . This is the SW Agenda intended by the scrappy female creators and producers at Lucasfilm. In my opinion, This is the only character in Rebels that seemed out of place and has no vulnerability. She's off to a good start: like Reva she survives a mortal wound and heals rather quickly from it like it was just a scrape. Thats not vulnerability, its preposterous! We can see through this, I like the show thus far 8/10 for many reasons reasons but the Sabine character from Rebels did not make sense in SW wars. Sabine is stubborn to the point a lightsaber to the gut only knocks her out (Girl is too suborn to die). I like the idea that she would be force sensitive if only a little. Her being force sensitive enough could be an interesting plot point. I am one of the few that liked the Mediclorians explanation for the force. In my opinion it was like early science, many things were thought to be understood but were miss-understood or incompletely understood. The me now says Mediclorians are a benchmark for how easy it is for someone to use the force.

I don't want Sabine using powerful force abilities like pushes and pulls or mind tricks but it honestly makes a lot of sense Mandalorians would over the generations cultivate a low level force sensitivity, things like improved reflex time, enhanced strength and minor precognition. It makes me wonder about Tar Visla again, I wonder if he also had a similarly limited connection to the force and was why he ultimately left Jedi. If he was mind controlling and throwing people around with his mind I feel like the Mandalorians would have just seen him as a Jedi to be defeated rather than a Mandalorian like them and fit to rule. I wonder if like Yoda said use the force only for defence, never attack that Tar brought that teaching to the Mandalorians and Bescar, only for armor never weapons.
@ryanscanlon2151
@ryanscanlon2151 Жыл бұрын
@@mackenziebauroth4989 yeah but if high level force sensitivity happened on mandalor with any frequency they would have figured out how to exploit it in some way, like there would be a Mandalorian force tradition even if it had few practitioners. However the force does work through natural selection as well particularly in legends materials, like the ysalimiri that developed those anti force bubbles to deal with vornskers which them selves evolved a sort of force smell or species immune to force mind manipulation. Generations of Mandalorians fighting Jedi only the most successful will propagate likely leading to force augmented reflexes etc.
@justinskywalker
@justinskywalker Жыл бұрын
This actually makes a lot of sense, since having low level force abilities like precognition or enhanced reflexes would provide a pretty serious advantage in combat but might not come across as obviously force sensitive. Considering how much fighting the Mandolorians do and for how long they've been doing it, a natural selection that favors those with even weak force sensitivity could occur.

As a huge fan of Rebels I always thought that Ezra's saying to Sabine "I'm counting on you to see this through" (which is also in the trailer of Ahsoka and heard in the first two episodes and repeated a few times in Rebels) has more information than the picture shows the eye. Maybe Ezra sensed some force sensitivity, some conflict in Sabine, but wanted her to be able to see it through on her own accords, to find her true self. Maybe her force-sensitivity will be the explanation for the given sentence.

@@donramon9723 My guy what? She only became a rebel after running away but she still hold on to her Mando roots, she a puzzle solver because she’s a good engineer as a Mando & it grew when in the academy, she speedster/pilot b/c she’s again a Mando. There’s no Mando that can’t that fly. You split these things into points but they really fall under one category, Mando, as subs. She’s artistic yes but that’s a character quirk. An example would be how Anakin & Plo love tinkering & like personalize the things they make. She wielded the Dark Saber but she never wanted to in the first place & hands over to someone else. She defied gender norms with bob cut hair, colored armor, & wacky hair color? What? Just what? She didn’t defy gender norms by having short hair, which 1st time we meet her was 50% a pixie cut, her like that b/c she’s a tomboy of which there are in SW. Her colored armor has nothing to do with gender norms either, she cuz she expresses herself through art & she personalized her armor to make it her own since it was old. Colored hair to defy gender norms? Bro she is an artistic teenage tomboy, changing of hair color pretty normal. And Mary Sue?!?!?!?? Captain Marvel from the MCU is a Mary Sue. Rey from the sequels is a Mary Sue. Sabine is not a Mary Sue. We seen her struggling, running, & losing in Rebels. If she was a Mary Sue none of that would be there & she wouldn’t have lost the times that she did. If she was a Mary Sue, she’d be a full blown Force user right now. If she was a Mary Sue she wouldn’t have gotten stabbed. You are applying the term Mary Sue incorrectly here. “No surprise that this is the one they will invest in and carry out her story” ? They are literally continuing where we left off at with her story in Rebels. “Scrappy female creators and producers at Lucafilm”? Rebels got created by 2 men & 1 woman & as for writers they only had 1 woman outta 13 & all the executive producers of the show were men. Sabine had no vulnerability….did we watch the same show? She had several moments of of vulnerability. A prime example is her being ostracized by her mother. I don’t like Reva, I will proudly admit that b/c her whole character was awful. A lot of characters do not work in Kenobi. However, Sabine is no where close to Sabine. As for Sabine’s wound, they make it very clear by pointing it out for all to see with their eyes where she was stabbed. The wound was straight through the under of her right ribs. No spine damage & severe organ damage unlike say Qui Gon. Reva should’ve 100% died cuz she got it in the gut & at a deadly angle & she isn’t trained to degree of Darth Maul to survive. Hell even the Grand Inquistor should’ve gone out in Kenobi, but this just goes to show the writing problems with that show. That part of about the actress, what did it do for the poor argument? Why? It creepy as hell

Grogu being a prodigious force user youngling that lost his home in the war now being raised as mandalorian by his somewhat of an outcast father figure; and Sabine, being a prodigious mandalorian that lost her home in the war now being trained as a Jedi by her somewhat of an outcast , maybe not mother figure, but certainly a big sister or mentor. In spite of her impulsive nature, she doesn't really know how to be in the moment because she's so conflicted. That'll likely change when she's had the rematch that's coming up.

I could go either way as well. I do think a lot of Ashoka's personality (or lack there of) now is because of her guilt around Anakin. We never really got to see her reaction or how she dealt with the fact of him now being Vadar after she learned it in Rebels. It's been many years, but she obviously is still carrying that guilt. Which is why I would SO love it to find out if Luke told her that he was redeemed in the end. Seems like he would have? Doesn't Ahsoka take place after Book of Boba Fett when Ahsoka and Luke are together?

I honestly think everyone is missing the verbiage used. Aptitude is your ability to use it, not how force sensitive you are. Same in real life, or dnd. Intellect vs wisdom. Knowledge you can learn, and ability to use the knowledge at your disposal. I think she's actually very strong in it, but lacks the capability to unlock her own capabilities. But will . Anyways... yea Aptitude is different from how sensitive to force she is. Just her ability to use it. Also to addon i think even if shes lightly force sensitive it sets up her and grogu perfectly. For us old folks, freak and the mighty. Someone strong physically vs mental and someone mentally unique but physically frail. Both mandalorians. Both force sensitive. One my physical mandalorian, one more force jedi. It really is a perfect balance. And just enough force ro make them a team who can communicate through creeds.

Remember, the Jedi always says everything is “From a certain point of view.” Maybe she just hasn’t unlocked her full potential in the Force, yet. Remember, the Jedi council only took initiate with a certain level of “M” counts. We really don’t know if she was tested for the “M” counts. Just like when Obi-Wan Kenobi turned himself off from the force and had to turn it back on maybe it’s similar for Sabine to do. Not exactly like Obi-Wan, but in similar ways. In the Obi-Wan series, 10 year old Princess Leah was not trained, but we do know she has a high level of “M” count because we all know who her biological father is. She was untrained, but she could read the mind of her cousins, I believe is the second chapter. Or maybe Asoka is not a good teacher like Caleb Dun was to Ezra. Honestly, it could be several different things, and I don’t think we will find out in this series, but probably would find out in a book or comic written between ROTJ and the Asoka series. Anybody has any thought about theories that I propose? Did I miss something? Am I wrong about something?

I'm fine with it, but I enjoy most of what Disney has added to the canon, Episode 9 not withstanding. If Lucas wanted to make these films for kids, I've got no idea why he turned it into a family soap opera with the Prequels. Broom boy from Last Jedi was the first step in fixing the force so that every kid with a stick can play Jedi. A mysterious, all encompassing force is a lot cooler than midichlorians. Sabine working hard to do some minor force moves should ultimately be good writing and lead to a good show, provided Filoni doesn't screw up on the Thrawn stuff.

Ive always preferred the idea that there's no "zero" on the force sensitivity scale. It connects everyone. I like the idea that there are "ones" and "twos" who just seem "lucky" or who "trust their gut". It helps that Mandalorians are basically super-human in a more mundane sense. Having their "super soldier" reflexes, strength and afility goes a long way toward closing the gap with the literal psykers.

Maybe this is Dave Filoni's way of introducing the idea that you don't need midichlorians to use the Force? After all, there was a (very hard to find) interview with George Lucas and Irvin Kershner where they expand upon the Force (I think you might be able to find it in the book "The Star Wars Archives 1977-1983"), and in this interview they explain that ANYONE can use the Force, kind of like how technically ANYONE could learn martial arts. The Jedi are the ones that focus on it and hone the skill to the point where it is useful. They also explain that Yoda is not really a Jedi, he is more like a guru, someone who studies the Force but does not use it to fight.

Because those are powers that people can use without the push and pull type force. And they are all passive abilities. That wouldn’t change much. But sky-walking stands out. They are heading into uncharted space without a map. The original intent from Lucas was apparently that Midichlorians are essentially Mitochondria, which exist in real life: they're symbiotic organelles that live inside of our cells, but have their own DNA. For Lucas, the Midichlorians played a vital role in a person's connection to the force. I like your interpretation however - that it's not because of them - they are attracted to strong force sensitivity. It avoids the highly problematic eugenic undertones of Force sensitive bloodlines.

Filoni is the Easter egg king. He even said that episodes dismissed by viewers might be the most interesting/important. He encouraged that we keep watching bcoz there's always a payoff down tne line as the story progresses (may not be verbatim, but that's pretty much the gist of it). Anyway, Sabine is a descendant of Tarre Vizsla. And if I learned anything watching star wars, force sensitivity doesn't always get passed down from one generation to the next. Unless you're the direct offspring of the chosen one, Anakin Skywalker, or from the Yoda species. Otherwise the force sensitivity gene seem to skip generations. That's why it's rare from almost all other races/alien species, like Mandalorians & Wookies. It seems those inducted into the Jedi Order are dominated by the human species from various races/planets. So if Tarre Vizsla's "force gene" skipped hundreds of his lineage and decided to reappear during Sabine's conception, then it makes sense. Now I'm wondering, is Kanan & Hera's son, Jacen force sensitive? I'm looking forward to finding out.

Anyone could be haunted by dreams of something they believe to be a failure on their part, such as her feeling she didn't save Ezra. If they make her force sensitive all the sudden I think it will take away from her awesomeness as a bad-ass Mandalorian. I really hope they don't give her force powers. Qui-Gon said, and Kanan reinforced, that the force resides in every living being, that doesn't mean she can wield it. At best she'd be able to feel things and have a strong sense of what's happening like someone who has a premonition that comes true. I'd really prefer if Sabine weren't Force sensitive. I kind of love the idea of Ahsoka taking on a non-Force sensitive Padawan. It's new, something unexpected. I just don't know why she would? I think it's just a done-deal that Sabine has the Force, but "very weakly connected" - at this point the reveal would be if she wasn't, since they've all but come out and said directly "She has the Force." None of what happened in Episodes 1 & 2 of Ahsoka really makes sense if she's not sensitive. I will say, I think most of the "hints" from Rebels are extremely far reaches. The Bindu's glance and the Space Owls landing are probably the strongest - everything else requires a lot of supposition and unconfirmed theorizing about how the force operates. But I honestly think if the Rebels "hints" are in any way real, it was more of a "leaving the door open to explore later, potentially" than a master plan culminating in the Ahsoka series with Sabine being Force Sensitive. The way it was handled in Ahsoka was just so out of left field that it strikes me as a later decision that people are working to retroactively fit into the pre-existing shows.

Those who have more find it easier connecting and using the force whilst those who have minimal may require years of training before they can even do a simple trick with the force.

I trust that whether or not she is force sensitive, Filoni will do her character right. Loving the show so far.

Remember people Sabine is just a bit more force sensitive than Han. Aka she got the stat boost but not much else

Honestly, I've been screaming at all these people that say she isn't and shouldn't be force sensitive. Pretty sure if you watched Rebels, you seen all of this stuff.

I think the placement was different for Qui-Gon, it went more in the middle where it bisected the lower vena cava and lower aorta and likely spinal column , Sabine's looks more off to the side damaging intestines, and other organs.

I 100 percent agree with you on many of what you have said. I could not have put it so eloquently. She could have a minor aptitude for it, which could be Ahsoka intent on taking her on. Someone who with little to no real power and doesn't crave or seek it will truly value it through earning it with blood and sweat (not entirely literal).

This theory makes the most sense. During the Dark Saber saga I felt Kanan was not only training her to use the saber, but open her up to the force. This Ahsoka series is amazing!!

Ok let's say she's force sensative. wth happenned to sabine, ahsoka, ezra and heira/kanan's son during the events of episodes 7-8-9 ? are they coming back for the new Trilogy ? are they all dead ? rebuilding an order with a few known character would be interesting. so yes i think she is force sensative

Tbh I doubt any of these were intentional back during rebels. Also I'd much prefer they go the direction that anyone can use the force, it's just a question of dedication and opening yourself to it - rather than being genetics or whatever

So I only see two options: either Kanan and Ezra couldn't tell one of their closest comrades whom they spent loads of time with was force sensitive or they just didn't feel like she (again, one of their closest comrades/friends) was worth the effort to train. Either way doesn't quite sit well with me honestly, but oh well

If someone doesn’t actively use the force like manipulating someone telling they are force sensitive is impossible unless you are solely focused on them. So it make perfect sense if there are already two force universes

Well, at first I thought all of those times Sabine was performing all of those inhuman acrobatic moves, jumping 10ft in the air, landing on the ground just fine after falling from heights that would shatter your bones - like she does all throughout Rebels - was because it was a cartoon. But apparently this was all foreshadowing her force sensitivity, so she must have been drawing upon the force for those feats, right? But agree to disagree, I guess. Hell, it's also possible the show will explain this itself later, which I would appreciate.@@ked49

Good video, I agree with you Ryan. Not to mention that with her artistic and mechanical aptitudes, Sabine would be considered "gifted and talented." And often times in Star Wars, GT = force sensitive
