Possibly the title refers to Joseph Conrad's book Victory. Here is the quote 'dreams are madness, my dear. It's things that happen in the waking world, while one is asleep, that one would be glad to know the meaning of.' The book itself us about w man living a very isolated life in a remote place, a man willing detached from the rest of humanity. Nevertheless he rescues a woman from a form of slavery and they fall in love but ultimately he cannot overcome his detachment and the story ends violently and tragically. So maybe its that. Also, Freud said 'Dreams are often most profound when they seem the most crazy'. However, I lean more towards the Conrad connection. Conrad's Heart of Darkness realised by Coppola in Apocalypse Now was not the first attempt to film a modern version of Conrad's book. George Lucas was involved in an earlier unrealised project. The connection between Conrad and Starwars is there.

I think the point of this show was introducing Ahsoka/Sabine/Thrawn/Ezra/Hera to the casual audience, and building on what was set up for this time period in Mando. Andor was just filling details in time between two periods we already know well, and I think it's safe to assume most people interested in Andor had already seen Rogue One. It's essentially his backstory, but the show has nowhere to go, since it just leads into RO and ANH. I don't think the aim of the show is 'answer questions', but clearly they have a plan on where this is going, rather than the mystery box nonsense we had with the sequels. We've also got fallen Jedi mercenaries with different ambitions to Thrawn, and the Nightsisters with their own intentions, and the New Republic, a place of apathy and cynicism. This show has developed a lot more than most things from Disney Star Wars, and has a lot more potential to show us new things, and not getting stuck in Original Trilogy nostalgia, like RO and Andor. I do agree that D+ shows generally waste the audience's time and would probably be less disappointing if available to binge, rather than waiting. Certainly these 7 episodes could have been 4 episodes with more impact, and have another 4 episodes more story to get into. I’m calling it… the Padawan, who wears white and is filled with primarily the dark side of the force at the start of their journey, will grow into a Jedi force unseen before. The Master, who wears black and is filled with primarily the light side of their journey, will possibly grow into what every Sith desired to become. Of course his death will be the cost but, to get meta, they’ll be able to theoretically have him look so different no one would know it’s him (like Vader). The opposite of Obi-Wan and Anakin (of course I’m not saying Obi-Wan is anywhere close to being in the top 3 of being a force in the light side of the force but I think y’all understand what I’m saying). Thrawn said they got the most important thing out of the battle which is time. I would think there are two reasons for palpatine's reasoning not to place a minefield around the deathstars. 1) arrogance 2) the unhindered ability to receive and deploy vessels from the space station, given the lack of talent the stormtroopers had maneuvering a minefield would be a costly option. Dreams and madness could be a play on what's happening between Thrawn and the good guys. I kept noticing this contradiction of things working out in Ahsoks favor when we were viewing her perspective, and when viewing Thrawns perspective it felt the same, like everything was working in his favor. So perhaps the title is referencing this dichotomy and its saying that one side is succeeding while the other is mad, they have the delusion of success.

24:27, There’s also the added context of Nightsisters not really requiring lightsabers due to being able to use their ichor (the green substance they use to manifest their abilities, which interestingly is very similar to Scarlet Witch’s red, vaporous energy in concept) to create objects, including weapons (even lightsaber-resistant one’s as demonstrated by Mother Talzin during her fight with Mace Windu using a flaming sword she made during Clone Wars Season 6 and Merrin’s use of a similarly manifested combat staff to she fought Bode with in Jedi Survivor). These three Nightsisters, however, appear content with their use of clairvoyance and the energy threads from those floating orbs they use as their primary arsenal, though their full capabilities may have yet to be shown considering how powerful a Nightsister can be.

It was definitely one of the better episodes for me but I can understand some people feeling disappointed after how enjoyable Ep 6 was. Expectations gets high. I say it's my 2nd or 3rd favorite episode so far. My only complaints are it was only 42 minutes and it didn't give us the answers from Baylan's calling and his unexpected turn. Senator Xiono keeps taking Ls. He's up to something or is working with someone evil. Threepio was a nice cameo and he's never been most people's favorite droid. Same with the Hayden recorded hologram cameo. But I think the strongest character in this episode was definitely Thrawn. We're seeing how he plays chess. My favorite Thrawn reaction wasn't about Anakin but seeing how Baylan is going astray. Anakin is physically dead. It's Baylan who is making things complicated. I think Thrawn's strategy of just getting the hell outta there while he watches the good guys or gals wastes time needs to be emphasized. I enjoyed the Great Mothers having something to do in this episode. They weren't just standing there and doing nothing. And I like some of the reactions and questioning from Morgan as to show how Thrawn's mind really works. I like how Baylan vs. Ahsoka basically went to a draw. I didn't feel Baylan should lose or even die. But I also didn't feel Ahsoka should lose either. The fight wasn't necessary. I did wonder if Shin was going to join Ahsoka's crew. Maybe in the end, she does? Baylan did create friction by basically ditching her there. It's a little weird to see Baylan turn like that in a hurry. Didn't in Ep 2, he told Morgan it would be a shame to kill Ahsoka considering the dwindling numbers of Jedis left? Then when he first fought her in Ep 4, he said, "It didn't have to come to this." Then all of a sudden, he tells Shin to contact Thrawn to kill Ezra and Sabine? He didn't need to fight Ahsoka if he was planning to ditch Shin there unless to stall. Baylan could've just went his merry ways. Then he underestimated Ahsoka. The great question of what Baylan is trying to do and who is calling him remains a mystery. I don't want to assume anyone anymore because I think it leads to high expectations and then disappointment. If I keep watching these SW channels, all these theories will lead to higher expectations which only leads to disappointment. It could be a Zeffo or Bendu or Abeloth. It's Mephisto in WandaVision all over again. I did wonder why Ezra didn't take the lightsaber? Why another reluctant lightsaber user like what happens to Luke in TLJ. He only used the Force and blasters. Shin Hati looked a little weak to me if she couldn't handle Ezra without a lightsaber. Sabine busting her ass as usual with all the action scenes and saying some humorous lines. Sabine keeps growing on me! And she started out as my least favorite in Ep 1 and 2. "She's like you but without the sense of humor." That's a very Han Solo line. BTW, Harrison Ford hates Han Solo because he's not complicated enough? Huh? He started off selfish. An atheist. He evolved to someone better at the end. It's not like Indiana Jones is this complicated character either if Harrison is saying that about Han. But Han's death did add weight to The Force Awakens. I'm all-in for *Billie* *Lourd* as Leia Organa. She already portrayed her in The Rise of Skywalker when she was dueling with Luke. She's taller than Carrie but not so much. I think everyone could embrace Billie being the new Leia moving forward. We accepted Ewan as a younger Obi-Wan. Why can't we accept a different actress portraying Leia? And we got a younger version of her last year. Only makes sense the Leia in her 30s happens to be portrayed by Carrie's one and only child who happens to be 31! We are still 23 years in the timeline before The Force Awakens starts. Overall, I'll give this an 8.5/10. I wish it was at least 10 minutes longer and they gave us the answer to Baylan's calling. We got a little bit of everything in this episode. Not the strongest episode but it gave us a little bit of everything starting with Hera. I don't believe we needed all the scenes with Ahsoka hiding and escaping in that minefield. I felt it stalled the story a little. Just filler moments. I think we needed more Baylan here and I don't mean another lightsaber duel with Ahsoka. Just his purpose being in Peridea. But it did show what a tactician Thrawn is. The stuff with Thrawn and Ezra were all excellent. Enhanced both characters. The Nightsisters or Great Mothers had something to do. Every character got a W except Senator Xiono. Even Threepio got a rare W from me. Hera gave me a laugh and gave one to Mon when she told Xiono, "No, I protected the New Republic by ignoring you." Nice burn, Hera. W for her. Senator Xiono: Easily the worst character in this series. He's either up to no good or he's really, really stupid to not give a damn about Thrawn's return. But we all need our heels and morons. He's only the latter. He's the opposite to how Thrawn is as a heavy. Xiono will have a cheap death and we will all laugh when it finally happens. He actually makes you miss Jar Jar. Xiono is like the greedy lawyer in Jurassic Park. I can't believe we only have 1 more episode to go. I wish it was 90 minutes long like a typical Stranger Things S4 episode but I bet it's under 50 minutes again. After Ahsoka, there's going to be a long drought for SW content. We'll get Loki S2 next week, but expect delays for a lot of other projects that were supposed to come out next year. I'm aware the writers strike (WGA) ended recently but the actors strike (SAG-AFTRA) is still going on and is a separate issue. So expect a lot of projects being pushed to 2025 or later. The only thing I'll be interested next year is House of the Dragon and we're only getting 8 episodes of that for S2. We first hear C-3PO say in this episode, "Oh. How rude." It's one of his catchphrases and he said it in The Empire Strikes Back when the other droid that looks like him but in silver says something to him. So basically Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) from Full House ripped off Threepio with that catchphrase? How rude!! The lighting in this episode was fantastic. Especially the violet tone when Ahsoka and Huyang were talking in the cockpit before hitting that minefield. The special effects when the purrgils went to hyper speed was really well done. This may not be a popular opinion being how much we love to bash the Sequel Trilogy and Disney. But I think SW has never looked better than how they look right now. Top notch high production values. Episode 7 MVP: Thrawn I think Ray Stevenson among all the actors in this series has easily been the MVP. Best SW actor since Sir Alec. I still love Baylan and I was relieved he wasn't killed by Ahsoka, but NGL, I'm confused on how I should feel about him in this episode? It felt really out of character for him to tell Shin to contact Thrawn to have Ezra and Sabine killed. And then to part ways with Shin right there without any warning. Then to tell Ahsoka how she will not defeat him. My biggest concern is if this big Baylan mystery which keeps hanging us like a piñata or a bubble ready to pop that gets so built up that it puts writers in a corner. It happened to LOST. When the mystery is finally unveiled, it's a letdown. Never as cool as the one you had hoped. But it's clear Baylan and Thrawn are the two best and most charismatic characters in this with Shin being 3rd although both Baylan and Shin lost some luster in this episode. Baylan and Thrawn are two of the best characters since Star Wars '77 when Vader, Han, and Obi-Wan had tons of charisma. You're always intrigued on what Baylan and Thrawn are going to say. Ray and Lars are perfect casting for this. I guess Lars might need to carry S2 of Ahsoka if we ever get it. With all this buildup for Thrawn, there's no doubt he's going to be an awesome character like Vader was but in a different manner.

Thron's stormtroopers remind me of the masked legions in "300", particularly the Captain character with the actual face mask. And the little armored aliens seem to be modeled after hermit crabs, which would explain how they can put clothes on under their shells. Also they remind me of the little shelled bad guys in the "Halo" franchise. Sorry, I don't know many of the actual names of these people off the top of my head, but I am really enjoying the series😅. Great breakdowns as always and so happy to see MT on a non maniacal platform! Been a huge fan of him since his original YT channel!

Felt again like a filler episode. There's just not enough story for 8 episodes, but it's stretched out so you have to subscribe for 2 months...

episode 7 was a nothing burger. So much for Ezra being stronger. Little girl smacked him around. I find his lack force disturbing. 😩😩😩

One thing that bothers me is Mon Mothma. Is she the Paul Rudd of the SW universe? They didn't even age her a bit. Anyway, I want to point out that the Noti circling the damaged vehicle is similar to a herd of animals like elephants or bison protecting their young.

What do you mean “didn’t age her”? It’s the very same actress that played her in the 2005 Revenge Of The Sith. She is literally and actually 18 years older than she was back then.

@TalentCaldwell She looks the same in Andor, which is about 10 years or more before Ahsoka. And if you are basing it off ROS, she's supposed to be 30 years older.

Did Ahsoka have multiple lightsabers in her training room drawer? What do we think they are? Just practice ones or things she picked up in untold tales? They all look like they have similar design. Are they Huyangs?

The meeting you adress was not a court marshal as explained in the episode and I admiral Akbar in fact in the meeting? One thing I noted was It was Ahsoka replicating the gesture of help to Shi as Baylan did to Sabine. Cemented the notion of defeat, that she is on par with Baylan aswell as highlighting the strong need that Sabine had in the moment. A panic? A big insult? Whatever happens I think it will have a deep impact. If Shin chooses the "fleeting power struggle" Baylan talked about it means she is also a contender for turning to the light. On Baylans part he did not abandon her or sacrifice her. He made sure she would make it back to the starwars galaxy - Whatever the outcome of Baylans personal mission Shin comes out on top. Assuming she would survive. Baylan seemed concern when Ahsoka left her (Not sure if Baylans wolfrat died by the explosions) but the grimache could suggest he was worried for Shin. Another thing I enjoyed is that the writers actually understand strategy when writing Thrawn. I am impressed since strategy often times is not defined properly.

I personally dont' see the hate on Ezra not taking back his Lightsaber. That's very Ezra though, he always valued the force more, seeing him as a Force Monk was refreshing since most jedi honestly don't utilize the force as much during battle. Honestly the choreography needed work, it wasn't that bad but could of been better. This episode though felt very "rebels" animated series compared to the last 2. Not bad. 7-8/10 for me

In episode 6, Baylan called Peridia "a land of dreams and madness"

The mines also make the same exact noise that they do in Jedi Survivor when they lock onto u & follow u.
