@@Luis-de7lf Well, she reached her ultimate goals as a character: She discovered and traveled to Peridea, the homeworld of her people, found and rescued Thrawn, became an official Nightsister, and wielded The Blade Of (Mother) Talzin in a duel against her arch nemesis, a very powerful Jedi. She has become The Pride Of Dathomir and her Sisterhood. In many ways, she's the counter to Sabine, Ahsoka, and Merrin, in terms of realized goals and enlightenment. I truly believe, the first brand new Star Destroyer commissioned under Thrawn's command, will be named, The Elsbeth, in honor of Morgan's sacrifice. Thrawn doesn't take what she did lightly. If it weren't for her natural abilities and successful efforts, Thrawn and the Dathomiri survivors of Peridea would've been lost possibly forever. She will be remembered in the annals of Imperial, Dathomiri, and New Republic History. She was/is a cool SW character.

You can tell, all throughout the episode, that Thrawn was doing everything he could to stall Ezra, Ahsoka, and Sabine until he could escape. At no point did he underestimate them or assume they were beaten. Even after their ship was temporarily disabled and Thrawn himself said their chances of stopping them were near impossible, he still immediately prepared for a ground assault because he knew that none of them, especially Ahsoka, would give up so long as there was even the slightest possibility that they could stop him. He threw everything at them that he could afford to throw at them and still just barely managed to get away. Thrawn has learned from his previous mistakes and refuses to underestimate the Jedi as he once did, making him more dangerous than ever. I can't wait to see what he's going to do next!
@Blitzvonic Жыл бұрын
People seem to not pay attention to this too. Like the biggest complaint is "oh why didn't he just send more fighters, soldiers, blah blah blah." It's because he can't. He needs to keep whatever resources he can. You can visibly see he's upset every time he has to expend more resources every time. And it makes sense. He's going to be going back to a hostile galaxy, with zero clue on what to expect on his return. For all he knows, a whole enemy fleet could be waiting for him. So I can understand wanting to save as many resources as possible.

@consolescrub4031 Жыл бұрын
@@nanashi5139 I feel like this is bait but in the interest of constructive discussion I should note, that's kind of the point of Thrawn. He's much like the Joker in that he's probably never going to beat the protagonists in a physical fight. He exists to challenge them in a dimension that they struggle to match which in this case is large scale tactics. We've also not seen him with any significant resources yet for the reasons explained above. (He doesn't need much as in Legends he started with 6 star destroyers under him and took over half the galaxy in half a year). I'll admit it's hard to get his character to be impressive on account of the fact that most screenwriters aren't space tactical geniuses and thus they need to compensate by constantly proving him right with the writing, resulting in Deus Ex Machina or incredible coincidences but hopefully we'll get to see him pulling out some tricks we've never seen before without destroying all the logic of the setting. Legends had him using interdictors to pull starships out of hyperspace in broadside positions of enemy cruisers and cloaking tech to win multiple battles by misdirection so it'll be interesting if they do something similar or something new. I'm just saying, it's early days yet, let him cook as the kids say.

Nothing about her character was "tossed out". That's nonsensically inaccurate. She had an honorable death and died at a point where her character was most liked and appreciated by the fandom. Rather that her character sticking around for too long and the fandom getting bored of her being a "I'll get you next time Ahsoka Tano!" type villain, she died in a purposed, meaningful way. She had a GREAT arc and died not for The Empire, not being just as another cog in the imperial machine, but for her own agenda, prevented our heroes from messing with their plan to repopulate the planet they were headed towards, for Dathomir. She was loyal to Thrawn, but only as a means to an end. She accomplished her goal and sacrificed herself for her sisters and restoring her culture. I respect and honor the way she went out.

@@YodatheHobbit I didn't mean "tossed out" from a meta perspective but that Thrawn (and maybe the Nightsisters depending on how much they really cared about her) just essentially used her as a pawn and disposed of her. That said, the Nightsisters gave him a LOOK when he destroyed the temple so perhaps there will be tension going forward...(especially if Merrin ends up in the mix, who is currently anti-Empire...or if they resurrect Ventress who is canonically buried on Dathomir).

Thrawn's dig at Ahsoka before he goes into hyperspace is so good, knowing what we know from the second of the new canon Thrawn trilogy (Thrawn Alliances). Thrawn worked with Anakin and he worked with Vader, and he **knows**. He's one of the only people who knew, before it became public knowledge after RotJ. Also, so many have said it, but yeah the statues are the Mortis "gods", the one Baylan was standing on was the Father and the missing one is the Daughter (Who is embodied by the owl, Morai).

19:40 is the mortis god (father) statue. I think it was foreshadowing Anakin being there checking in on Ahsoka telling you that what happened in the world between worlds was real not just in her heard, she died and he guided her soul back to life. I think they showed this because he is now the father representing the past (Light/Dark) Ahsoka is the daughter present (light) and the son will be Kylo Ren/Ben Solo representing the future (dark) and that is why Ben Solo had a connection to Darth Vader not just Palpatine. Plus in Anakin tells Ahsoka she is part of a legacy and then in the info book about rise of skywalker they described Ben Solo/Kylo Ren this way as part of a legacy.

I'm looking forward to seeing season 2 if one opens. I suppose a lot of people already explained but: a) the statues behind Baylan at the end are the Father and the Son (the Daughter is missing), they are some kind of "gods of the Force" that we met in the Mortis Arc in TCW season 3 (and in the paintings outside the Jedi Temple in Rebels, in the episodes about the World between Worlds, season 4). So Baylan is after their ancestral power. b) The blade of Talzin is a sword used by Mother Talzin (the head witch of Dathomir) in a fight against Mace Windu in TCW. So it's kind of a powerful relic.

Everyone realizes what's in this boxes right? I am not the only one that figured it out? They dropped clues in the last 2-3 episodes. Those aren't boxes they are hibernation chambers for night sisters of Dathomir. They went into hibernation to avoid whatever the bad dude with the white beard is looking for. That's especially true since the first place they went is Dathomir. Think the way Thrawn thinks. He is going to need a military and a good one to convince some of the warlords to come to his side. An army of Dathomir Night Sisters who owe them there lives is pretty impressive.

This show honestly could have used a cameo from Merrin and Cal. If they had let Sabin die in the first episode, then they could have used the second to have Ashoka take her body to Merrin and cal so Merrin could have resurrected Sabin. A quick simple cameo to show what the good and bad versions of the witches looks like. Maybe in season 2.

Thought for you regarding the "force comes from the hands" thing. Perhaps it's one of those self-actualisation things where your level of ability has a large component determined by how well you can do the thing. Hands are typically how people interact with the world and feel what's around them so until you get the level of mastery where you can visualise these things in your head, hands serve as a crutch so you can get more oomph for your effort. It's like with most magic systems, you don't need to say the words to cast a spell unless you have a specific association with the words. Example from a different IP would be in the Dresden Files how magic is amplified by using a circle. The circle can be a physically existing thing or it can be an imagined circle if you're good enough at holding a picture in your head. It's like how you could absolutely pick up a cup using the crook of your arm or feel what's around you through your shins but because you're more used to using your hands to interact with things, it's easier, faster and more instinctive to use your hands. It's all about what feels natural and intuitive to you. I just thought of another example while writing this and I'm including it at the end because it gives me the opportunity to talk about ATLA. Firebenders and airbenders have been shown to be able to bend their element using their breath while earthbenders and waterbenders typically have not. This is because air and fire are believed to come from within and therefore it feels natural to breath it out while you wouldn't instinctively move rocks by coughing (even the Avatar doesn't manipulate other elements by breathing despite knowing it can be done with air and fire suggesting perhaps that it just doesn't feel natural). Instead earthbenders typically take a wide stance and earthbend with large pushing and pulling motions like how you would move rocks normally. The exception to this is Bumi who has been shown to earthbend with his head suggesting it is possible, just that it needs additional practice and control and doesn't come naturally to people much like using the force with your head would. With a certain degree of training and practice, it's certainly possible at least in legends (shoutout to Kreia), it's just not instinctive and probably less effective for brute force tasks.

"Wait! We know how he smells..." HAHA I love that snapshot of when you were just getting into Rebels reactions. Out of everything, THAT is what's stuck in your brain.

So the ceremony in which Morgan became a full nightsister, the blade of Talzin, and the spell that the night mothers casted are all ripped straight out of the Clone Wars. 2/3 of which were from a singular episode. And bloody hell was it spectacular. Ik many where extremely mad at the moment in which she was able to connect however I do believe that that moment was earned as it's been built up since the beginning of the series. In fact if you go back and watch certain scenes such as when Sabine fought the Marauders for the first time when she fought the Stormtroopers just after she found Ezra and when she was fighting in the catacombs as they were heading up to the tower she does several perfect blast deflections. Which is not something that you can do all willy-nilly

The statue that Bayain is standing on is the Father and next to him, is the Son and Daughter. The Mortis Gods.

On top of the Mortis stuff this has ties to Jedi Fallen Order/ Survivor. The ancient race that was being researched. The text are around the Witches of Dathomir fortress.

I just picked up on something. When the female dark side force user holds up her lightsaber, it had the same hilt on it as the one that Ezra just made. The droid said he made two of those parts. Is that Kanaan's lightsaber? Also, they giant stature was of the Father, the mortis god from the Clone Wars.

Baylon's reference is straight to the father and the balance, we never know if he is the son or he is after the mother 👀. If you look closely hebis looking at the palace from where the lights shine, and where Anakin went on to find the Father.
