I tried to see if AI could write my videos, and it failed. It not only got most of the facts semi-wrong, it doesn't really seem to understand how to write a video essay.
AI wrote a video about Gabe Newell and the history of Team Fortress 2. Both are awful.
Valve News Network (VNN) is now Tyler McVicker.

AI isn't going to work independently. It acts as a force multiplier. The AI spews content and people pick out the usable bits. It can be way faster and cheaper than hiring people to create that same content. Sure the quality is lower overall, but the cost is rock bottom.

I think the reason why during the Gabe Newell part the AI suddenly brought up the space metaphors is because ChatGBT has a weird tendency to get stuck on keywords that it uses once or twice. So, once it brought up “space” once, it mentally came back to it over and over again. It’s like the digital version of an intrusive thought that won’t get away for the whole day and once brought up is just kinda stuck in your subconscious.

I mean, in my experience, that’s not just GPT but current AI technology as a whole. If it decides, for whatever (often fucking unfathomable) reason, that it really liked a particular word, phrase, sentence, or idea, the AI will gradually, gradually trend toward just repeatedly spewing it out with nothing else, and I’ve gotten it to that point many times before lmao

This can be understood as the model attending to the context. Which for auto regresssive models is it's own output. The further you go into something like a conversation, the more context it will have to attend to. The less it has to recall from it's learned weights. If it's wrong once, it might acknowledge that once called our. But the relevant passage is still in the history, and will be attended too. Causing the model to repeat it. And making the cycle worse. Current evaluation benchmarks are usually really short context length, and none really evaluate model performance in a true multi turn scenario. It's a difficult research topic.

Yeah thats the kinda thing you will get from AI if you just use a single ChatGPT agent, dump all the scripts on it and tell it to do *something*. It's like pulling a guy from the streets giving him all your scripts and telling him to write a script without allowing him to think about it beforehand. For these kinds of projects it doesn't suffice just giving a single prompt and expecting a good outcome. You need multiple agents with individual tasks, like one agent does the research (ChatGPT can't really do this but other AIs can already search the web), another one writes a basic concept for the video, another one writes the outline for the video, one writes the actual script, one checks for factual errors, one makes sure that the script is written in your style etc. ChatGPT works by predicting what word would be most likely to come after the last one. It basically thinks one word at a time. If you create a system like the one I just described you can get significantly better results. You need to allow the AI to think about and revise what it has written (just like a normal human would do). People have already created such systems for multiple creative tasks. They've done this for creative writing and even for video games. And while the output still sucks ass in comparison to what an actual talented human can do, its soooo much better than what you have shown in this video. And keep in mind that this technology is evolving at breakneck speed. Nobody is able to predict how things will look in just in a few years from now. I recommend the video "How AI Will Make Full On Video Games" by Jonas Tyroller, an indie game dev (ISLANDERS, Will You Snail?, Thronefall). It outlines quite nicely how AI could and will be used to do difficult creative tasks and I think a lot of what is said in the video also applies to video production.

There was actually a huge breakthrough for early cancer detection with AI. They were able to create AI that can detect cancer many many times faster than any of our current methods which will let people live for years or decades longer than they would have since early detection and prevention is one of the most important things for cancer. So a lot of what we think of as AI is influenced by Hollywood I think. It's easy for film and TV to do AI. Just get a human to read a script and have them take away whatever factors you don't want the AI to have (emotion, etc). Instant AI and it's easy. But of course actually making a real-life AI is not as easy. But at the same time we have corporations wanting their new machine learning systems and other things like GPT to sound better and so they call them AI. I don't think this is an accurate label at least for what people tend to think of as AI. It's the same kind of thing with "autopilot" in a movie where you see a car or plane automatically start, stop, pull off ridiculous stunts, and then comparing that to real life autopilot which is mostly just flying in a straight line set by a pilot, maybe with some timed altitude changes, which is the easiest part relatively speaking (or you can see how Tesla is doing with their "autopilot". Once you find out how many problems that has had you should not be surprised to find out the name was pushed by Musk personally). AI is in the same situation. We're not there yet, and all the AI doomsayers are too early and worrying over nothing.
@vibaj16

Machine learning and GPT are AI. It is an accurate label. Hollywood just depicts much more advanced forms of AI. I'm pretty sure most people understand that current AI technology is different from Hollywood depictions of AI, and that the main reason for that is just that our algorithms and hardware aren't yet advanced enough.

why use shit 3.5 when gpt 4 turbo is 100 times better. It's like complaining that a new game is badly optimised while using a gtx 750 ti.

this is basically 2020 ai that just writes a script based around what you give it and looks at google for info and does it in your voice, it didn't look thru your script or writing style just took your voice, clickbaiting even ai videos because you cant pay for the most advanced ai and instead call ai behind what you think it is because you are using free software that is behind current ai

10:33 bro spreading missinfo. The ai in the Beatles song was just to isolate the voice of Lennon from the noise of the cassette tape and the piano. In other words it is Lennon's real voice (just restored by ai).

I mean, he did say something like “I’m sure there are uses” for this technology, so I think he implied that in certain projects, such as the Beatles one, AI is used to do something it’s actually capable of, making the results much better. So I think it was implied that the AI must have been doing something different than what he had it do here, but I suppose you could say he could have been clearer about delineating.
