When I listen to this, I think of a workaholic business man, who has given his all to being successful, regardless of what he has to do. By hook or crook, so to speak. Only to realize he's been being used his whole life to the point of just being a stranger in his own home. Just remember that line about all the bad blood slowing and turning to stone. Dragging our subject down. It's important, because `the stone` is referred to several times. (Even on other albums.)

My favorite Pink Floyd song. There are also early versions of Dogs and Sheep with alternate lyrics. The concept is basically splitting people into 3 types. A lot of his songs are very funny some are very raunchy some are just instrumentals and even up to the point of being a symphony and some are just plain old rock and roll. He Is the type of musician you will totally love and get it, or hate it and never want to listen to it again LOL. I will say he was known as the musicians musician, and a lot of great musicians wanted to be in his band.
