Love the look of the Texan. The one thing that seems off is the height of scope off the center of barrel. I always like to have my scope as close as possible to stock..but that is just me. Mr HP is the best BTW,,,he is a very nice guy. His slugs kick ass as well.

thanks for the review. I have a texan and I have shrouded it. I will be using it for whitetail in missouri this season. I have been looking for bullets that will do the job. I looks like you have done my work for me. I'll be talking to you.

Mr. Hollowpoint. Thank your for your videos. Interesting and educational. A question. Who makes the air stripper for this rifle? Thank you!
@AnobisBloodwing7 жыл бұрын
A question at 11:22 that dovetail to weaver adapter on the underside. Who makes them? I am looking for a low profile one like that but never found one.

I am loving my Texan. I am using slugs that I cast for my 1858 Remington .44. When I cast them they cast out at .457 and weigh 240gr. So far it is holding very good groups at 50 yards. What was the price on that muffler?

Mrhollowpoint1 I'm having a tough decision maybe you can help. I'm looking at buying the big Texan ss 45cal because its quiet but what ive seen on youtube is to me it looks like I should buy a normal Texan and shroud or muffler it and it would be quieter? is this true

I am thinking of getting a Big Bore Air Rifle. It was either going to be the Crosman 357, or the Samyang 50, because thats the only ones Ive seen talked about on KZbin alot. But, now I'm liking this Texan more and more. So or were can I find this shroud, or suppressor like the one in this vid?

Lately I noticed that when I air my texan up to 3000 and let it sit a few days, my air pressure drops about 400 lbs. I guess it must have a slow leak and I have not contacted air power yet on how to deal with this.
@airgunsyaventuras80588 жыл бұрын
+Josef Venport it must have a leak, if it still under warranty call them cause the air pressure should stay the same as you left it.

Is it necessary to purchase the Airforce Picatinny Rail Adapter? Thank you
@electronicdawg7 жыл бұрын
Yes get the most expensive rail adapter money can buy. Won't improve anything, but it will look cool.
@808Cummins7 жыл бұрын
i have high mounts on the stock dovetail. It is still too low. Mounted on an adapter it'll bring it up ridiculously high but your head angle won't be overcocked to the right or left at extreme angles. So in other words... get it.... or something similar.

My buddy seems to think that the 308 texan is a better rifle than the 457. He tried to tell me that the 308 had better features than the 457. But I know that they are the same rifles only with different caliber barrels so can you tell me which one would have more foot lbs of energy if the bullets had the same grain weight?
@808Cummins7 жыл бұрын
Josef your buddy is partial to the caliber. The twist is too high for slugs making it an inaccurate gun at the moment until someone finds a perfect ammo. As for energy..... the 45 pushing a 255 slug at 850 plus is doing 400ft/lbs. A 308 at 255grain... if it's available... has to be flying close to that speed to get the same fpe. That is a super long and heavy bullet for a 308. Physics included.... you need a longer barrel on the 308 to reach the fpe of a 45. Basically the 308 would be a great light grain target gun or small game killer. A 45 would be a medium to heavy game killer but less the accuracy. I destroyed a goat's brain and blew a bird apart with 143 round balls on a 45.
@Tellin082 жыл бұрын
@@808Cummins Sorry I know this comment is 5 years old but in general, does a lower caliber on the same Air Rifle using the same inner mechanics means its going to be more accurate at longer ranges?
@808Cummins2 жыл бұрын
@@Tellin08 with the previous gen guns...yes. they share similar tank capacity, springs and valve. The availability of slugs at the time I wrote this was very limited. Now they have perfected it. Those smaller calibers with the carb tank and tx2 valves are vicious. With the older 3000psi aluminum tanks and the notorious "lock up" valves of the old you'll be frustrated like me 😂. The newer guns are designed better than the gun I have. With that being said.... I'd go with a 357 for long range and a 50 for point blank pig harvesting.
@Tellin082 жыл бұрын
@@808Cummins Thanks for your reply. It's interesting. So many great choices for air rilfes nowadays especially with AEA coming out with these cheaper Big Bore guns.

Question: Is the barrel rifled or smooth?
@albertqss8 жыл бұрын
These are rifles. so rifled.
@stibbs118 жыл бұрын
not necessarily.
@albertqss8 жыл бұрын
+stibbs11 Yes necessarily. The manufacturer calls the gun "The most powerful air rifle". Look up the definition of the world rifle.
