When I used to make homemade bread, after the first rise, I would roll one of the loaves out flat and layer it with lunch meat and cheese and then rolls it up into a large pinwheel to allow it to rise for a few more hours. After it baked it was so good and I could even freeze it and warm it up later. That’s what your ham and cheese egg roll reminds me of. Very fun idea!

Good morning Amy. Sad day for a Pennsylvania family from my area whose mother was shot and died there in North Carolina yesterday while riding in a car with her husband. It was a road rage shooter. They left 6 children behind in PA with the grandparents. A blessing the children were not in the car with them. Asking everyone to pray for the family and those dear children. Thanks for the psalm today Amy. Always a blessing to us. 🙏🙏🙏💙

Such sad things happen to families each and every day. Not trying to "downplay" the seriousness of this terrible incident, in no way. But, I remember, and this was natural causes, when my grandpa (father to 10) suffered a major coronary all while his wife was in his care due to a stroke that paralyzed half her body. After birthing 10 kids, she did not deserve it (but he took such excellent care of her, 24/7, seriously round the clock exhausting type care). Whether natural causes or outside forces do it to us, it is always a shock and just horrible to experience and overcome, try to anyway. This was so many years ago, but... it doesn't go away, does it?

Hi Lori. Love the sweetness in your heart. Could I suggest finding a senior in your neighborhood and popping by with a lunch now and again. 2 benefits, a new friend and broadening social circle. Or make an extra dessert and take it to a womans shelter for the kids. Not that expensive? Is there a large family in the area that might need help? Sometimes schools might be able to give a hint who might need help. Maybe just once a week double your dinner and split it. A freezer meal? A big batch of cookies wouldn't be expensive. I know budgets are tight for a lot of people, but just to know someone cares is sometimes enough. One person at a time.
