Well, I am just starting this hobby, and I have a 6 foot tall, 60 gallon compressor., with a 50 gallon reserve tank (110 gallons total). I need this for painting cars, trailers, boats, etc. I think I will be going for a while.

for anyone just starting Amazon has a stealth air compressor 3 gallon 1.5 horsepower 68 decibel for 200 bucks probably going to be my favorite air compressor for airbrushing

Thanks for the advice but are your pressure suggestions for whilst the airbrush is blowing or resting ?
@AirbrushAsylum7 ай бұрын
Great question, I generally set my psi’s whilst the trigger is pressed 👍🏻 hope that helps
@davepasopton88407 ай бұрын
@@AirbrushAsylum yes that confirms my expectations, thank you so much. As a novice it puzzled me to see the gauge drop when pressing the airbrush trigger and wonder which was the relevant value .

Got any tips for silent spray booths? I bought an oil compressor (SIL-AIR 20A) for noise reduction since we have a small kid at home, but most spray booths seem so noisy, I can't really use my airbrush yet.
@AirbrushAsylumАй бұрын
I run an extraction fan and only really need to switch it on when I am spraying a larger area, that said the small hobby spray booths will work but anything with decent suction will create some noise . Take a look at this vid which better explains safety when it comes to airbrushing 👉🏻 kzbin.info/www/bejne/laesY32GprlkjNksi=wVZ5wE9kybfnTPqT

Can you give tips with airbrushing using inks? They're quite thin already and seem to just get everywhere using a .15 or a .5 needle
@ELPADREAIRBRUSHАй бұрын
Hey fellow airbrusher if your running a 0.5 nozzle your paint is way to thin try 1-1 ratio your ratio is set up for fine detail like a micron or creos ps771 0.81 nozzle just thicken up friend it took me literally hundreds of hours of failures to get the paint right that is the holy grail of questions is how to thin down my paint ! Another question What kind of paint are you using ?? Thats a HUGE QUESTION hit me back and I’ll let you know the spec ratios for all different paints ! Marc ( EL PADRE AIRBRUSHING )

Tattoo artist having a bit of fun. But it’s dawned on me…could you not install a headphone Jack to the on off switch? And use a foot switch? Like we do to turn on/off tattoo machines? Your saying it heats up after an hour and it’s hours cool down which seems nuts..Won’t that just….bypass that problem all together? Only other thing is a led display in % to tell you how much air is in your tank? I know they kick in falling below a certain psi anyway. But would save it being on…constantly. And you just use the compressed air as it stays off till your foot clicks. Random thought
@AirbrushAsylumАй бұрын
Those are definitely great ideas, I guess the best advice is to get a compressor that has the largest tank that you can afford (similar to when you buy a computer, you get the most powerful one that you can afford) this will limit the amount of times the compressor has to turn on to pump up the psi and in turn will not have to work as hard. Having Indicators and also the foot control for the airbrush could work, but would stuff most of us up, as we would need to get used to a totally new way of spraying, that said the battery units work in a similar fashion meaning they only turn on when you press down for air...so maybe this setup on a larger scale would be beneficial. 😉🤘🏻 Take a look at this vid 👉🏻 kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ-UaHVofql1b68si=utf8FQ57Gp6zypgv

Is that iwata compressor reasonably different from the random Chinese compressors with tanks? Or just the cover and two outputs?

My little cheap air gun set I got to start experimenting painting 3d prints, it has a moisture catch thing but it still seems like there’s some moisture in the paint when painting.. water that shouldn’t be there. Is there anything I can do to help cut that down or eliminate it? I don’t have the money to buy any kind of really good compressor or gun
@alexkimmel386 Жыл бұрын
Run a second moisture trap on the airbrush itself. You can get a good one from iwata that threads into the bottom. Itll end up between the hose, and the airbrush's air valve.

As an newbie my problem is that I really dont know what Psi im working with, I use an eclipse with an compressor without an tank and crank it up to about 35 Psi but as soon as I start working on my "piece" the regulator drops to around 20 Psi and gets hesitative if its 35 or 20 that comes out... Is there a good/"easy" way to meassure the actual psi that sprays out from the gun!? Btw! tnx for your tip while ago about illustration colours due to I cant buy trident in a near area from me, it was an game changer for me and enjoy my few weekly hours I have to the hobby much more! Adjust the regulator while holding the trigger down on the airbrush
@AirbrushAsylum2 жыл бұрын
Thank you glad you enjoy the videos and happy you found Createx illustration colors…also keep in mind if you need trident then you can also go to air shot stencils who is now the US distributor 👍🏻 Without a tank makes it harder however also keep in mind you can run the eclipse at a lower psi and over thin your paint for detailing . Also, adjusting your reg whilst the air is pressed down should also help (just like HK Koh mentioned) 😉

My problem with airbrush compressors is if I'm doing even a medium job it can't keep up with volume of air like my quiet 2 gallon compressor can. My Fortress is 60 decibels.

I've used an Airline extension or 2 daisy chained to add extra volume to my line pal surprising what air u can store in a hosepipe style reel to also move it about, to stop the cycle strain on ur compressor, not sure if u already tried this or thought of it by any chance? Hope my remedy to my lack of cash to buy a bigger compressor may help ;)
