After the finish coat, one viewing angle resembles water drops and the other looks like moon craters. Very unique. Thank you
@beeble20033 жыл бұрын
Yes, the only difference between a bulge above the surface and a crater into it is the direction of the shadows. Quite often, if you turn a picture upside-down, bulges and craters seem to flip.
Small tip for people trying to cover a surface, as you do in the beginning, with orange.. do not only go left to right. Make one pass left to right, and then one top to bottom.

Did similar years ago on a med blue (toronto maple leafs blue) with a very dark blue and a purple on a goalie mask. Looked amazing. Yrs later did it on a young girls Ibanez dot with a pink base and purple and lilac water drop. Looked amazing as well. I used a garden sprayer to put on the droplets though and distilled water. My first 1/2 attempts was just with tap water but tap water has many contaminants in it and the paint wasnt working the way i expected.

Nice video, never seen this done before. Why or how does the orange panel not turn somewhat black from the black overspray. Is the overspray being controlled, as I heard you are controlling the amount of air, so as, not to move the water droplets.

If you used water based paint I'm curious if the droplets be done with cooking oil? Once thee paint dries the oil could be sucked off the medium
@terrythomas7904 жыл бұрын
I did this effect once on a X Box controller. I used my airbrush to make the droplets super small and hit it with the black and whites! Turned out so cool being that small. Looked like dew was sitting on it. Wish I could post a picture of it.

Why are you lying and just making that up water won't absorb into the control you idgitt
@scifimodelshop2 жыл бұрын
I am wondering why you did not prime that panel with white Vs. all the paint to cover the black? acrylic may work for this if you sealed the paint in? before putting the water drops on. just a thought going to try it on my next car model

If you dont have degreaser will cloth with alcohol work.? And do you always use opaque for base. As you can tell iam very new to air brushing. Thank you.

I am surprised that you didn't go back and add the highlights to the droplets. Looks to flat/faded for my taste. Thank you though for the great videos!

One small suggestion, Sata-minijet 4. Cool vid
@AirbrushAsylum4 жыл бұрын
Definitely a great gun but I personally love the feel of the Iwata , either brand is fantastic I think it’s just what you get used to 👍🏻😉
@billdocos33024 жыл бұрын
@@AirbrushAsylum I love my Iwata but, when it comes to covering such a large area as that panel a Minijet takes no time at all and you don't have to refill the gun. Don't get me wrong though, that was a great tech, you showed us there, I love your channel. I don't often use my Sats as an airbrush, it is great for panel coverage though. I have 6 different brands of airbrush and you're right, nothing beats an Iwata

how do you avoid the white overspray on the panel itself?
@bonnivilleblackcherry9745 Жыл бұрын
Thew angle and the distance. The water drops make anything that doesnt stick "bouce up" and by the time the land again its to dry to adhere or its so minimal it blends in.
@daniloquirozjr36194 жыл бұрын
Hello, I have a question normally when you apply base color if you leave overnight you have sand it before applying clear coat,. How this would work if you let the drops Dry over night. Can you sand it..or you apply clear over it...?

Could you do this with water based paints maybe even candy but heat seal or inter coat first before he water drops
@AirbrushAsylum4 жыл бұрын
Heating it prob won’t work as you would eventually evaporate the water, but using an intercoat clear first may provide a barrier to allow it to be done with water based paints ? 🤔
@uzibagasino28894 жыл бұрын
will there be difference if you started with the white paint first and then the black after?
@radiomanjk4 жыл бұрын
OK, I know it's a stupid question, but you say it multiple times, but I hear 2 different things..... Water Motive paint (which is what I hear mainly) and Automotive paint which I also hear but that just makes more sense in my mind. And I am probably wrong on both occasions.

I can taste that clear coat from here. Hope you covered up your camera during. I wish the water droplets worked on curved surfaces...
@AirbrushAsylum4 жыл бұрын
I know , this is why I don’t clear in my studio lol, just thought it would be interesting to see it with a couple of coats of clear (even though it really needs to be wet sanded and flow coated to really give it a good finish). I know it would be awesome if this worked on curved surfaces 😉👍🏻
