Why reverse is deactivated?

An Aircraft can fly with thrust reversers inoperative.So If a fault occurs before flight and more ground time is required to fix the problem or to acquire spares,to avoid flight disruptions & delays the aircraft can fly for a limited time with that Thrust Reverser not working.This allows operators time to source spare parts and plan some ground time to fix the defect without operation interruption .However there conditions for safely releasing an aircraft with that defect,these are stated on a document called the Minimum Equipment List(MEL).So in this case the MEL required us to deactivate the thrust reverser for us to dispatch the aircraft
