This video will show how to adjust the pressure on all AirDog/ Raptor Units.
The pressure will always come preset on your AirDog/Raptor, However engine modifications may determine what your pressure needs to be set at.

I have a 2010 duramax LMM. I just installed the AirDog II 165 5G a week ago. I noticed that if I started the truck immediately after the glowplug light goes out, no problem. If I let the pump run 30 seconds or a minute [I did that checking for leaks] then start the truck, it cranked over for a few seconds before firing. It ran just fine though. Today I put a pressure gauge on the airdog and found it was set for 7 PSI. I turned it down to 5.5 PSI, took it for a drive and checked again engine running. Setting was stable at 6 PSI with truck idling. Starts and runs great.

What are the differences between the AirDog Raptor 4G and the original? Is one cheaper quality than the other?

Where do I get the different springs for my different psi

Great video great info. I can't find where I can buy different springs for the 1st Gen pump and I know it doesn't come in the kit. Any info would be appreciated

just installed the air dog11 g4 ,when i kick it down it blows out black smoke an has no power. do i need to back off the pressure?

I just bought an airdog original and slapped it onto my LLY. The truck would start up almost instantly before the pump but immediately after it takes a few extended cranks for the truck to turn over. Once the truck is running I can audibly hear that the pump is running and the truck is running easier? The starter is fresh along with the batteries. Could this be the pump needing the pressure changed? The LLY just has exhaust and cold air intake...

On an airdog 2 what is the stock pressure that it comes with out the box how could you tell without a gauge

I have on my Cummins a tuner, it says about 18-21, too high for me so I tuned it down

I'm new to diesel truck maintenance, so how would I know what pressure it's at without a gauge will it show on the truck or do I need to buy a gauge. I'm looking @ buying an airdog lift pump for a Duramax LML (2014 GMC Sierra HD 6.6 turbo diesel), I understand how to adjust the pressure, but trying to figure out where to see what the pressure is at. Thanks in advance if you understood my question.

You will need, at least, a mechanical gauge installed in our pumps to adjust pressure. All our pumps, except the frrp, come with an 1/8" npt port to measure fuel pressure.

@@Long_Island_Justin The pumps are preset from the factory. That being said, every truck varies a little bit on how much fuel is consumed and it's never a bad idea to check fuel pressure after installation.

Would a poorly adjusted airdog pump prevent a lb7 duramax from getting the proper PSI at the fuel rail to start?

All of our pumps are tested on a test bench for flow rate, vacuum, and set to pressure before they leave the facility. Check to see what fuel pressure the AirDog is putting out on the truck.

You'll need a gauge to fine tune it.

Absolutely! Above the fuel filter there is a 1/8" pipe thread port that you can thread a fuel pressure gauge into!
