You can't really extrapolate too much about the power levels due to the faulty chrono data. Kinetic energy increases with the square of the velocity, so it's not like 10% more velocity means 10% more energy. Also, if your chrono readings are erroneously low, that's a good reason to suspect that they might also be non-uniform. Maybe one reading is off by 200 fps and the next is off by 400 fps. There's really not much you can infer from bad data.

It compares a long barreled pcp shotgun to a short barreled shotgun and unclear cartridge charge and a broken gauge it measures me on an ad according to google the average velocity of the 12 shot is 1600fpe and energy about 2500J vs 1050fpe on this air rifle and energy of about 1200J

I think your chronograph is way out mate,you might have to get it calibrated to see what the go is. I shoot those federal slugs out of my miroku 12 gauge shotgun and they are moving way faster than what is being projected here. Anyways those air gun slugs are awesome,I sure wouldn’t want to get hit by one of them ! Good video.👍🇦🇺

@@TheDollarSportsmanI bought a LabRadar doppler chronograph which is the best I’ve used,I get it calibrated once a year and I reload my own ammunition so it gets used regularly,I also check it against my local rifle range clubs chronograph to compare data.They are eye watering expensive but the old saying goes “ buy once cry once “ which I think is on point when it comes to anything to do with firearms and accessories. I always shoot off concrete benchrests when using chronographs,any movement can give false data I’ve noticed too.

It’s unregulated so I fill to 4000 psi after 2 shots just to keep consistent. It you filled it all the way to 4500 psi, you could do 3 shots easily.

There real good at sending out free guns I have 2 brand new AEA GUNS and I shit less than 4 mags between both and they tell me to take pictures and I might not be strong enough to pull the firing handle back. I own the AEA T-9 and HP MAX both are non working.

I always thought that Zeus would reach a VO of at least 350ms with 58, 🤣🤣🤣 I think your chronograph is deceiving you. but it's quite a beat, 234 ms with this shot, excellent.👏👏👏 I hunt a lot of mallards, Cotia, and small wild boars, (Brazilian fauna) allowed in hunting with pcps 6.35, I think it would be a gift to have a Zeus, congratulations on Having your time with this beautiful demonstration, I was a little disappointed with the cal12 cartridges. 🤣🤣🤣 like guaranteed.

Yes your a bit to close to your Chronograph. Critical Thinking my friend. What happened at that close distance? Your chrony moved backwards away from gun. Why does it matter? Simple' if your chrony is moving back or with round at 200fps your reading will show 200fps less? Example - a cop chronys you while riding beside you at the same speed. You'd expect his chrony to read 0 mph. - God Bless keep on shooting!

Don't get drawn into thinking the more you fill the tank the more power you get. Too high pressure and you get valve lock. Just enough pressure and your rifle won't be producing as much power than less pressure when the hammer and valve are balanced. Guess this is the reason the British invented pcp's

Air guns are trash for any apocalyptic situation. They only shot one round and take longer to reload. And the results are only close because they're tested at the muzzle. At 50 yards the 12g would be ten times more powerful and at 100 yards it would be like comparing a 22 to a 50 bmg.

These air guns are cool for target shooting or hunting non dangerous animals. But that's about it. Don't ever use one for bear defense. But the shotgun is one of the best bear guns.

You cant shoot cronograph like this. You need space between or you get reading from blow by and bullet, meaning low wrong number. Its pretty common knowledge

That would be the opposite. The shotgun is smoothbore, so the slug will lose energy faster and is more prone to tumbling.

@@StephenDeagle no it's not. A slug barrel is rifled to make the slug spin. Or if you don't have a slug barrel you can get rifled slugs that spin even when shot from a smooth bore.

@@StephenDeagle a slug has crazy knockdown energy even at 500 yards. It drops a lot in that distance but does retain huge power. The air rifle losses far more energy even at closer range like 200 meters it's less than a quarter of the power of the twelve gauge slug.

@@EliteNugz Any shotgun can fire a slug. Some shotguns are rifled, but the vast majority are not, since rifling messes with the distribution of buckshot and birdshot. If a rifled shotgun were to fire a one ounce slug at, say, 1000 fps, it would have the exact same energy at the muzzle and at 10 yards and at 100 yards as an air rifle firing the same. The method of propulsion makes no difference. The only difference is down to whether the barrel is rifled and what the slug itself is made of and how it's shaped, and those changes can be applied to either shotgun slugs or air rifle slugs.
