2nd story: yet another example of a man not taking a woman seriously when she says that she is child-free. It was in her profile, at the top of the profile no less, so it’s on him for not taking her seriously or clarifying it with her. Don't shame, don't advice unless asked, just tell them how the situation makes you feel. Let your loved one know it's up to them, but you'll be there for support no matter what. Then you leave them alone about it. And if they get disappointed by their friends later, NO 'i told you so' (your loved one will tell that to themselves anyway), only support, especially emotionally.

The bride story is crazy to me. I communicated with my ladies to make sure we were all on the same page. My only ask was that they pay for their dresses, which I had then pick out and we ask went together. We did the same dress in different colors to suit them in different jewel tones. They all agreed on the dress style. One of them didn't have the $90 up front even though there was a four month heads up before shopping for their dresses. She said she'd pay me back but never did, which, honestly is fine because she is notoriously bad with money and follow through. I didn't mind whatever shoes they wanted to wear, I just asked them to wear shoes they already had so they could be comfortable in them. I just wanted to do a pizza and movie night with them for a bachelorette party and they surprised me with a sweet little beach trip. It was so much fun and so wonderfully low-key. They also surprised us with a honeymoon 4 day, 3 night stay in a condo at the beach when we were just planning on having staycation. We didn't have our hair and makeup professionally done, but another friend helped with makeup and another who loves doing hair did mine beautifully. I let them choose how they wanted to do their hair and makeup because I just wanted them to shine and feel great. They ended up coordinating their hair because they cared more about the esthetic of the wedding than I did. I bought all of the flowers for the wedding at the farmers market morning of and they were gorgeous! I picked out individual small bouquets for each of them that had their favorite flowers and colors. I made their necklace to coordinate with the earrings I bought then. I made all of the decor for the reception months in advance. So many peacock feathers! It was a blast. A friend of my husband is a DJ, who gifted us his services for the day with all his awesome equipment. We had a coordinated potluck style dinner of enchiladas, rice, beans, and salad. We had 175 guests and it was a blast despite my mother-in-law pulling shenanigans. My girls kept my punch heavily medicated with vodka from hidden flasks, so it didn't even bother me when she stomped on my tulle overlay on my dress and tore it. Including my dress and the reception and everything, our wedding cost $2000. We maintained all our friends and they had fun and felt good. The pictures turned out beautiful and we surprisingly ended up with 2 photographers who we fed and asked then to join us in the fun rather than just shoot. It was a fantastic day!

Story 2, the kids conversation is always a fairly early conversation for anyone who really wants, or doesn’t want kids. OP felt she had no need to have this conversation cuz it was clearly stated on her dating profile she is childfree. I wonder if the fiancé thought he could convince her to change her mind once he had her locked into marriage. Even with the update I think he’s lying about not thinking about wanting kids or not. Usually, when you start picturing a life with someone, whether there will be kids or not is typically part of that picture. Plus, he sent his family to try & talk her around. Dude definitely thought he could lock her into marriage & strong arm her, or maybe tamper with her bc, to get the kids he wants. With the update, his rage is a giant red flag to nope right out of that relationship. But him forgetting she doesn’t want kids & can’t have kids was also a red flag. Glad she got out of there & she made the ex and ex.

I still say that OP has a bit of fault for not discussing it at all and just ASSuming that he knew everything from her profile (just because he brought up an odd detail from who knows how many profiles he'd seen at that time). After the update, I'd give OP 0.5/5 ahole score just because that's an EXTREMELY immature way to be in a relationship. This is the type of big decision you need to talk about a couple of times in the 3 years. Don't get me wrong. The ex is 1000% more the Ahole and likely wouldn't have listened anyway. But OP does bear some responsibility, but it sounds like she's learned that for the future. And people acting like "it was in her profile, and thus he should know everything" is silly as well.

Did he just see the "child free" part and thought OP would change her mind, while completely ignoring the "infertile " part. I get that OP assumed he saw that in the profile, but when they started to become serious about the relationship, it something they should have spoken about before getting engaged. I mean I get it, OP put it out their on her profile, but I don't get why at some point OP didn't say something like, "So, are you ok with the fact we can't have kids due to me infertile?" Or something like that. How do 2 adults date for years, get engaged, yet never talk about thier feelings on kids. Even if OP didn't put that in her profile, I would think that the boyfriend would confirm OP has the same life goals as him. WTF. One of the first things my husband and I talked about before we moved in together, while dating, was: 1) Do we see marraige in the future? 2) Did we see kids in our future, if so how many? 3) If we had kids would we both continue working or would one of us stay home? 4) If either of our parenst are unable to live alone once elderly, do we take them in with us, or find a retirement home? And the most important question was 5) Who mops the floors (I hate mopping, lol)? Those are basic thing couples discuss when committing their lives to each other. Edit to add. Story 1. She knew OP had blue hair and tattoos before she asked her to be in the wedding party. Yet, she made her change her hair and cover her tattoos. OP really didn't need to damage her hair more by dying it again. I have blue hair and tattoos, and when a friend got married and we found (thanks to her 6 year old niece's suggestion) a solution for my hair. My friend didn't ask me to change my hair color, I wanted to do it because I didn't want to stand out in her wedding pictures. I bought a bottle of brown temporary dye that came out in one wash and bam brown hair. As for the tattoos, my friend told me they were a part of me, and she loved all of me. Seems to me like maybe OPs friend decided she didn't want OP in the wedding after all, but did want to look like the bad guy by asking her to step-down, so she concocted this big supposed slight OP supposedly did to them have a reason to start a fight and get OP out.

Also, A story recently went viral about a parrot and how OP's brother did not really take good care of it. Luckily for the bird, the sister is now the owner. OP is mot controlling, OP is just doing her best to provide good conditions for lovely pets.

I hate brides/grooms who assume you'll happily take out a second mortgage for THEIR big day. Newsflash: it's their wedding. No one else (besides possibly the parents) is going to be as invested as they are. My sister wanted me to do video for her wedding. OK, no big. I have a rig I use for wildlife videography and a decent tripod. Then it was "can you also do photography?" No. I can't do both, don't have the kit or experience for portrait work, there's like 80 hours that go into editing, and people tend to get big mad if wedding photos aren't Hollywood quality. Then she wanted me to also be an usher and walk my mom up the aisle... dude, I can't do your videography AND all that. On top of that she wanted my wife in a specific dress even though she wasn't in the party (my cost.) On top of that, after walking half an hour to get back to our car, she sent her maid of honor out to tell us that we need to walk back to be in the photos. Whelp, you should have communicated that beforehand, genius. In the end, she started screaming at me at her reception, and I walked out.

Third wheel finally realizes she's the third wheel with her "best friends". The truth is if you have more than one best friend, you probably have none. No two relationships are ever completely equal. Clearly Callie and Amanda are best friends Edit: Just to give an example of what I mean. What if your two supposed "best friends" were to get married on the same day. Which would you choose to attend? That's who you really consider your best friend.

Gotta say -- in the second story, ESH. The man is WAY bigger of an ahole, but OP "assuming" that he read a line in her profile? For a big life decision? That he never brought up again?!?! That's just chilish. To steal the rSlash scale, the ex-fiance gets 3/5 buttholes, OP gets 1.5/5 Sorry, but "you didn't read my profile in an app where you're likely swiping over tons of profiles" is idiotic.
@jimbobjones9330 Жыл бұрын
After hearing the update, I'd go 4.5/5 on the ex-fiance, and drop OP's score to 0.5/5. I still feel that OP shirked some responsibility by not bringing it up at all in 3 years, and just assuming that he'd read a line in her profile... but didn't find it odd at all that he never mentioned it in the 3 years? Sorry, but that's either naive or insane to me. If I was infertile, even if it was in a profile that she likely glossed over while looking at others, I for SURE would have discussed it at least once with my partner relatively early into dating, just to be sure we were on the same page. I'd like to know if OP remembers the second line of his profile. Because it's possible he remembered the carrot thing because it was an odd detail, but glossed over the rest because he read so many other profiles. (And I'm sorry -- but isn't that the _point_ of Tinder? I've never been on it, but it seems like a catalog of potential hookups/slight possibility of partner) Anyway, OP still gets 0.5/5 for ASSuming (and sounds like she learned this lesson for the future), but the ex is 900% more TA.
@user-fg4tn8ot6b Жыл бұрын
Story two: The ex-fianceé is the AH. He knew what 'child-free' and 'infertile' meant. He knew she didn't want children. He had a convo with his ex's father about a future with no children and her surgery, and the f@cker LIED about understanding that it was OP's decision. He's a f@cking idiot for getting together with someone who doesn't want children, and expecting for her to change her mind. And he's even more of an idiot to think he knows more about the medical procedure OP went through that purposefully rendered her infertile (he said she didn't know what she was talking about). And he dragged his own family (who's just as bad, if not, worse than him) into this. *He should've left, instead of staying and thinking he could force her to change her mind the moment they were engaged.*
@aduckofsomesort Жыл бұрын
I do not at all agree with that commentor saying what most people would assume that child free and infertile means it’s not by her choice. Child free and infertile mean child free and infertile. Why would anyone assume that means she is involuntarily not having kids?

Is removing tubes a typical procedure? I know about tying them off, but never heard of complete removal. Is there a reason a doctor would do one over the other?
@BruinPhD2009 Жыл бұрын
Just a guess, but perhaps removing the Fallopian Tubes entirely prevents accidental pregnancy. If they’re tied off, there’s probably always an outside chance that the body could reverse that. However, if they treat tying the tubes like a vasectomy (they cut, burn, and smash those bad boys these days), it’s almost impossible to surgically reverse that procedure.

Ex is unhinged. He says his family doesn't have anything to do with it, yet HE told them and send his flying monkeys after her. He says she doesn't know what she's talking about re; not being able to have kids? OP didn't do anything wrong....she needs to stop thinking any of this is her fault.
