In all fairness, malyali Christians tend to not have much of a personal and cultural identity. They are poor and insecure about their situation, so they travel a lot through India and the world for better opportunities. They also have the world's first democratically elected communist gvt that can't deliver on their promises of opportunities and jobs. So I suppose they'll happily take on the vibe of their environment, it's easier to do that when your loyalties are dwindling and the future is uncertain for you. Now take that as you will as it is both positive and negative. They are adaptable due to their flexibility and needs, but also extremely insecure people, at least in India.
