This interview is another great example of how creepily NORMAL most serial killers and dangerous people look.
@whynotknownow
@whynotknownow Жыл бұрын
It’s sad how you can nearly guarantee that no matter how many atrocities someone commits they could go somewhere where they aren’t recognized. No connection to the past and no knowledge of the danger. There is much less legal intervention than needed or would be assumed. Hope everyone stays as safe as they can out there

@@MikuPinky Yeah... But even looking at pictures people still would trust the killers over the normal people. Not everyone is so observant that you can see the lack of emotions in their eyes. You only get the red flags depending on your interactions. And how they react to it
@MikuPinky
@MikuPinky Жыл бұрын
@@usonohoshi6165 I know, how many people thought Ted Bundy was the good guy (helping suicidal people and all) while he looked like a psycho. Solely his gaze makes me shiver. I guess things like "oh you can't judge a book by its cover" (which is a good advice) kinda tossed out our 6th sense. I mean, we're animals in the end. For this part, I'm divided; some are best at hiding their APD so I agree, you need a little bit of conversation or observation to spot them; whereas, in the case of Nicolas Claux, just look at the photos and try pretend you don't see anything. The one where he's long hair and wearing a camel jacket is hella scary. Left eye is hollow; right eye is pure evil. Takes only one look to get the chills. Same vibe with the japanese one in the video. Seing this I would never want to talk to them, even without knowing what they did. Because their eyes speak for themselves. I don't know where you are from, but in french we have this quote "Les yeux sont les fenêtres de l'âme" ("The eyes are the windows of the soul") and I think it's beautiful because it's true, you can see a lot of things through them, lots of emotions. And since APD people lack of empathy and tend to be sadists and manipulators, these things are also visible. Coldness and sadism...

@katelynbrown98 One thing is doing it to raise awareness of their deplorable actions condemning it and passing condolences to the families, another thing is doing it for the entertainment of the "fascinated" masses. Also you need to take into account the fact that many killers do it for attention, and to leave a mark, so keeping this form of entertainment reinforces it. The main point of abnormal homicidal humans is that, their minds work very differently than most people. This also means that their minds work very different from other abnormal homicidal humans. Just because one coldblooded killer relishes in their actions, does not mean another will the same way. You could have two serial killers working together to kill somebody in the exact same unusual way they've been doing for years, and there's a chance, probably a decent chance even, that they do not empathize with each other. This is because of their own personal preference. They can be meticulous over even the smallest detail, and if that other person neglects that detail, then this causes incomprehension. Think of it like this. Two friends enjoy eating burgers, in fact, its their favorite food. However, one of them hate having mayo on theirs, while the other loves it like that. The one who doesn't like it decides to not eat it just because of mayo being on there. They can't empathize with why their friend can tolerate having mayo on their burger, even though they enjoy the same food. This picky behavior makes even more sense when you realize that these two friends are little immature kids. An abnormal homicidal person has an immature/childish mind that has been influenced by dangerous tendencies. When you think about it this way; the pickiness, the immaturity, the childishness, all of that having been corrupted, it makes complete sense why an abnormal homicidal human doesn't have empathy for another of their kind - they're so similar to us, but completely different to them.

He also goes by "The Vampire of Paris" i find it very creepy that he's so fascinated by cannibals and felons when clearly he is one too, that shows how more messed up his fascination is because it's not just because of curiosity, its also cause hes exactly like these people.

I hate the fact that Japanese entertainment industry monetary supported Sagawa by putting him in a TV program. I was so shocked to find him in a show with Bakusho-mondai, a well known comedian duo (Now I want to cancel them). A monster like Sagawa should have been socially/ mentally more punished. He definitely should have been isolated from society, instead of getting attention from the media, which I think is totally insane.

That's not a bakushou-mondai TV show. bakushou-mondai is just a performer in a video work produced by Terry Ito. At that time, bakushou-mondai was just a young comedian, so I don't think they were in a position to be selective about their work. by the way, in his later years, Sagawa was no longer featured in the media in Japan and was in considerable financial poverty. I think it was Western media, not Japan, that made Sagawa earn money in his later years.

Despite that, he seems so well informed into the topic of cannibalism and serial killers it’s hard to look away or not pay attention to him and he made this video very informative. Like some of the personal letters and arts he received is only available because of interviews like these. It’s like a double edged sword.

I thought it was distasteful. He is clearly not ashamed of being a cannibal. He glamorizes this lifestyle. I read an interview with him and he is basically on the brink of doing it again, that is, if he's not doing it already. Absolutely no regret and continues to fantasize about on a daily basis. He is a deeply mentally ill man and both people like him and Sagawa should be locked in mental asylums until they die because they are a threat to anyone around them.

The fact that aki talked to a cannibal without knowing, but let us know beforehand, made this person instantly scary. thinking about the fact that he basically did similar things that were talked about and shown to aki and us...and that he liked to do those things and most likely wanted to collect those things because he probably gets off on those...and that he was most likely "inspired" to do the things that he ended up doing because of sagawa...thinking about the fact that the mouth we saw talking on camera ate another human being- I actually became sick to my stomach and almost threw up at the end of that video. That person is so damn scary. Humans are scary because they can appear normal and simply have interests like these because we are simply curious af and even want to know about morbid things. I've looked up "how long does a corpse stay in rigor mortis" but because i was genuinely curious and need that info for a manga ive always wanted to make (where the characters die but eventually they reawaken as if they had never died....kinda similar to the manga Ajin (because i have been inspired by it) but with actual real life science and facts stretched to their limits but in the end still being science fiction.) But then hearing about what that one human has done is honestly the scariest shit ever. It's reminding me of that one time where the dog of my sister's friend was so cute and nice to me. And then he chased a cat and killed it on the spot the next day. That dog bit that cat's head off. Literally. Because a friend, of my sister's friend, didn't believe that the dog had to be kept on the leash at all times when walking outside, because he will kill other animals no matter the size otherwise. I was terrified of that dog from that point on. I was just a 12 year old. He couldve done the same to me in a blink of an eye. (but in that case the dog simply had a hunting instinct. Different to the actions of a human that kills other humans.) Imagine talking to someone briefly on one day, and then the next day you see him on the news because he killed a person and ate their face or something. And then thinking about....that victim couldve easily been me....or someone i know or am related to. Or worse you then get to know that a missing family member has been killed by that person you talked to yesterday. And the fact that exactly that has happened and still happens over and over again is so sick. Humans are fascinating but god damn some of them are so damn sick. And need help.

He didn't find it "funny" that he offered for him and his gf to eat him. If he had the opportunity where he could do it without consequences he would have. He is and was fascinated by him bc they are one in the same no matter how he lies to act like he's special and a "different" kind of cannibal and m*rderer. His intent is transparent (to me) in how he fails to try and distance himself and talk sh*t about him like the "but I'm not like that." Its no surprise that he has done the same thing and enjoys being in touch with others like him, feel a connection and normalize his own sadistic behavior in his mind. I see that he is delighted by all of this. He's creep who should be behind bars.

In his interview with Jake, he said that he was considering it but turned it down because his gf was against the idea of it. This was right after he showed the guys a letter (i think) from a guy who had found someone online who had wanted to die this way. As another stated, their is not much information on her. It’s one of the sad things in true crime especially with historical cases it is hard to get that information. Some of it could be due to the overshadowing of the crime, it could be nothing much of note of corse, but also not everyone would go on recounting the life for their family or friends I great detail. It could be not wanting to drudge up regrets in relationship or just wanting to grieve in a way not thrown into the public eye. Of corse it’s important, but sometimes that’s how it goes.

Yeah.. That cookbook was one of the main red flags. Throughout the interview, I observed Aki's behavior(s) and she was definitely uncomfortable. Her body language steadily became closed off as she crossed her arms and leaned against the chair - trying to create distance (even though the interview was done on a video call. I don't blame her, however, as I'd behave similarly). I'll have to rewatch the interview to include timestamps, but if I recall correctly, Aki's discomfort was more visible when Nico was showing her graphic pictures w/out explicit warning. Specifically, the small black-and-white photo that had the cannibal's signature on the back.

My partner thought I was being rude, but I just couldn't shake the horrible feeling I had. I found out while watching this and I'm even MORE creeped out. Spooky side story: I used to have vivid and graphic nightmares when I started sleeping over my partners house, I blessed some of the art and sealed them in blessed frames, it wasn't until I did that and he got rid of a large collection of the art did the nightmares stop. He had a piece from "the Night Stalker" that I hated, and I saw a figure standing in the area near it. I begged him to sell that piece, and he thankfully did. He stopped collecting that stuff early into our relationship, thankfully. Someone in my family was murdered by a serial killer and he saw how it effected me and my family.

I wish some people did not criticize Aki for not knowing this guy is also a cannibal and serial killer, because I didn't (okay, just looked him up, and realize I do know of him, not by his actual name, but by his press name; see the Murderpedia entry on him). I've been into true crime and serial killers for a long time, ever since I was affected by the ones that were active in our state and general area when I was growing up (Night Stalker, Calveras County killers, and Yosemite Park killer). I'm obviously more familiar with serial killers, even some lesser-known ones, from the US, and it's only with the accessibility of information with the internet that I'm aware of the ones in the world. I do think we should be grateful that she has brought attention about this guy, not to glorify him, but to be aware that this world and people like this exist freely in society, and to watch out for it. What kind of world allows people to profit off of tragic killings of this nature, right? If you hear someone talking about these things in the same way as this guy does, take it as a lesson in paying attention to red flags about people. He is very casual talking about these things, he has a huge collection of things he is rather proud of. I'm into information about serial killers and their motives, but I would be horrified to have anything belonging to them, have any correspondence with them, or any merch associated with them. People, particularly law enforcement, who have had to interview serial killers have to be very professional and stoical, as the intelligent ones will take any little bit of info that is mistakenly divulged. I'm personally more worried for Aki, as a public YT personality who did this interview, more than anything else. And as much as I am a proponent of getting people with mental health issues the help they need, if one's issues are the kind that makes you harm or eliminate the overall health and lives of multiple people for whatever reason, then I have no sympathy.

The problem is not that she interviewed a serial killer without knowing it, but that after realizing who he was still went thorough with the video in the same manner as she had before. Giving him a platform and linking his website is basically promoting what he has done. It would have been interesting to see a video re-framing it around how a convicted cannibal is keeping in contact with others like him and selling their items online for profit, without promoting his shop or obsession with cannibals, but this video is not that.
@mynvision

@@EasterWitch True enough. I had missed the end where she linked to the guy's info, and that is absolutely done post-editing with the new knowledge. I think an additional edit explaining things at the end, as well as the what was done near the beginning, would have worked better, as well as eliminating the promo links. Personally, I did a quick look at the website, and pretty much clicked away almost immediately. The casual way all the merch was displayed really did bother me. It does appear to be much more promotional with all that, and I wonder if an edit and re-upload would be beneficial in this case. Honestly, remembering more of who this guy was is not doing my mind any favors, since I'm about the same age as him. Ugh.

Listening to that interview with context has given me this strange sense of dread. Like that was a seemingly normal person and I wouldn't have known otherwise. That he ate somebody... Another human being. An it's strangely humbling, most of us think we'll never meet someone like that. Or that somehow we'd know to stay away. But the reality is we don't. Even the way he talked about it seemed like was just a outsider, like us reading and watching, not understanding. But he does understand, he's experienced it, done it. An honestly I'm speechless.

Nico’s store is called “Serial Pleasures”. The only chance he wasn’t himself a killer/cannibal was if he hadn’t worked up the courage yet, as he clearly fetishizes this stuff. Not remotely surprised.

As soon as you showed the picture of this guy, I was like, “Wait a minute… That’s the cannibal of France I saw some KZbinrs having dinner with!” I watched that video and it was rather creepy. He has an awful lot of oddities in his collection that he’s collected over the years from serial killers and a ton of letters from ones he’s written to, including one of the Manson women! He served them raw mystery meat from a skull served with a spicy mustard from a skull serving dish and asked them weird questions… He was surprisingly nice, welcoming and charming otherwise, showed off his collection with pride… but it was creepy and i wouldn’t have gone there to a strange known cannibal’s house. Nope… The weirdest part is that he seems really nice and friendly, but when you know what he did, you kind of freak out.

15 years ago Gothic-punk me would have thought tht stuff was edgy but these days as an adult with little kids in my care, & having thawed my heart & experienced the magic of life.. all this just gives me a crazy feeling. Humanity is complex; terrible, beautiful and often a little lost. Its a reminder that people still do cling very much to these dimensions of experience even till relatively late in their lives.

so many people are saying that nico looks/acts terrifyingly normal for a convicted cannibal, but i think the sheer fact that the guy was COLLECTING the belongings of serial killers and talking with some of them for literal years should've been an indication that something is off about him. i understand being fascinated with true crime, but at some point you have to wonder if anyone sane would be doing shit like this

It's not that Sagawa's incident isn't terrifying but after reading about Nico I'm even more freaked out.. i have no idea if Aki looked more into the guy, but if she did and only found out these stuff about him after the interview i cannot imagine how freaked out she must've been or maybe still is, although it's been 5 months since the video was published but still im wondering how she feels about this whole situation.

This is honestly so unnerving to watch, but so interesting. I'm sure Aki would have rather not know she was talking to a cannibal or else we wouldn't be able to see this type of content. i feel she would be so scared to even go through with it. How normal he is and how his eyes light up talking about different people who were cannibals. It gave me chills. Also...did his girlfriend know he was a cannibal? And Aki please be safe!

Somehow I feel like Aki doesn't do enough research on the topics she discuss. I love true crime, which is why I still watched it and I like Aki but someone really has to proofcheck her research. It feels kind of disappointing that she had a chance to talk to an actual killer/cannibal and criminal because of the position she's in but can't do a quick background check on the person she's interviewing. This isn't the only time she's made errors while investigating (this is the second time she's made an error about this particular case). I hope she does due diligence next time to give more respect to the victims and people involved. I get it is for entertainment and I was entertained but still a little bit of care goes a long way.

I'm a long-time subscriber from the Netherlands, but I didn't knew about this case as it happened before I was born and for some reason most of the true crime stuff I find on KZbin covers either interesting foreign cultures like Japan or English speaking countries so I don't know a lot about non-English European cases.
