I was pleasantly surprised to find that GIMP has pretty similar features in this aspect. Offset, guide dragging, etc. Gimp is free by the way.

I use photoshop. I have the entire creative cloud! What’s so wrong about using it for WORK. It’s what I know and I have others who can teach me. Never EVER say that, because you are making false assumptions about others just because they pay for something you don’t feel is worth the money. I feel very offended and I bet everyone else who has at least one Adobe app feels the same.

One thing is that pixel art is a restraint of resolution, and colors. If there is a way to do this without having too many colors, I would recommend it.

I know this comment is late, but your videos are so helpful! Unfortunately I don't have Photoshop but I did change the instructions to adapt so I used paint.net which worked well and looked really nice! It may not be as detailed and precise a sPhotoshop but it worked for me

Problem with having wood grain curves is that literally nobody cuts wood that way, the long parts of the wood are parallel to the trunk so there wouldn't be any sign of rings. The only time you'd see that is where a branch or knot appears, then it's okay to add them.

A few questions: 1. 1:52 I didnt see anything change in your UI to make the color change, how were you changing color? 2. Instead of variation in the color can we add variation in the opacity? 3. Is it a good idea to make a new layer for adding the color so when overlapping on the separation lines its easier to fix?
