If I may make a suggestion about your jerk Mr. Thrall. It seems as if you stab at the ground with your back foot when you split. this causes your back leg to straighten out, and that in turn causes you to throw the bar forward and miss. one way to correct that would be to emphasize turning your heel out, while landing on the ball of your back foot. also, you seem to be in a rush on your dip for your jerk, this caused you to have bar separation while you dip, which in turn causes the bar to crash down on you when you begin your jerk drive. To correct this, focus on being more patient on the dip, and then be explosive with the drive.
@AlanThrall9 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much
@jacobmartinezsilva42229 жыл бұрын
+Alan Thrall (Untamed Strength) To drill patience in the jerk, a good exercise is to pause at the bottom of the dip, and then aggressively drive the bar. Use moderate-heavy weight as your skill increases.

Hi Jacob, I think turning the hip instead of turning the heel is the key.

I feel that it is very essential to have a positive mindset while doing weightlifting. Almost more than in any other sports. A thought such as "I can't do this" or "I won't make it anyway" is kinda more fatal to think of before snatching 92 kg than in any other discipline. Bad thoughts make you so weak here. Alan, you did awesome!! So freakin' strong. I'm just lifting baby-weights but I always feel very inspired by people like you!! Your videos are so helpful!

Nice video and bad weather. Good form in your lifts. Back in 1967 we did all three Olympic lifts. I was lucky enough to hold seven of the eight state records in North Dakota in the 198 and over 198 classes. We had no 220 or 242 back then. I once had to hitch hike in 30 below to Minot to win the state championship. I always enjoy your videos and you enthusiasm. Thanks.

Im freaking loving your videos man they show what they need to show without being too long and kinda boring nor too short and asking for more. Since you seem so insightful in strenght and muscle building I would love if you could recommend any program that doesn't put the progression standpoint on the Squat and DLs since I can't do those movements too heavy (at least for now cause I have something in my lower back since my childhood that doesn't let me do those excercises with max effort) but with other movements since I love the progression scheme on different lifts to measure your progress. Keep this up friend your channel will explode for sure!!! Cheers from Argentina

He tried Olympic lifting for about 2 months and quit. He says it was because he wasn't use to training that often and it was to different from he was use to doing. Basically he got humbled by not being as good at as he is powerlifting and he couldn't handle the volume.
