Alan Wilder singing compilation | Depeche Mode

A compilation of Alan Wilder singing lead and backing vocals on Depeche Mode and Recoil tracks from 1983-1997.
Alan also sings solo briefly in the last couple of minutes of the 1984 track "In Your Memory (Slik Mix)", a track on which he also supplies prominent backing vocals.

So do I. His musical education and natural talent for creativity and composition was so missed after _Songs of Faith and Devotion._ We'll never know what might have been. But Depeche Mode's _Memento Mori_ is the best since _Playing the Angel._

It only took the longest list of producers in the history of DM to pull it off, and Martin writing nothing by himself. 😂 Seriously says so much about them post Alan. I can only imagine how much better everything would have sounded. Even MM. I will give them this, MM is the first album post Alan that I’ve liked 9 tracks from. I haven’t liked 9 songs in the entire post Alan catalog. You can still hear where his vocals should be and that’s a problem, but I’m actually pleasantly surprised by MM. It’s never going to be a Black Celebration or Violator…

If that's the regular album version of "Enjoy the Silence", I had no idea that Alan sang the lower octave (along with Dave) on "here, in my arms..."... that's him for sure, it's crazy. He blends so well with Martin and Dave he should have been up just a touch more in the mix, imo

Actually listening to that refrain many times, I can hear some hesitation at the end of the phrases ( sweetly, deeply, completely). Martin's sings more in tune and his virbrato is different,. i think it's Alan. @@e.g.348
