In Cameroon🇨🇲 we call this calaba, it’s normally a craving for pregnant woman and can be used for acne or low iron. It’s so common u can find it in a lot of corner stores. I use to steal them and i haven’t had them in half a decade, they r probably my most common cravings, it’s very addictive to me at least. It’s so addictive that my aunty would scrape the walls of our mud kitchen and lick it 😂

Its an eating "dissorder" called Pica. Alot of pregnant woman have it during the prengnancy bc of the need for minerals. But you can also have Pica without being pregnant. I have Pica and i crave sand. I live in germany and here we have some thing called "Heil Erde" wich translates to "Health Earth" its something you can buy in alot of stores and its cleaned sand that u can eat. Its originally made to help with stomach issues but i take it bc i crave sand.
