It's a little more complex than that though. The armorer was experienced, Alec himself said she is the daughter of a very famous armorer in the business who had done this job for decades and passed his experience down to his daughter. Alec also said for the last 2 weeks nothing had gone wrong. What I am saying is, costs weren't cut in the armorer department, it was at standard. As for Halayna's justice, I have no doubt in my mind Alec will do what he can to make sure her family get her dues. It's true that Alec should have held silent during the interview, but there's a couple of things to note: Alec is in shock, he's trying to make sense of what happened, he doesn't want anyone to think he is trying to protect himself because it makes him instantly look suspicious; and he's simply trying to be helpful. I know the system eats people like that for lunch, but for some people, integrity comes first.

I don't think this was an accident based on Alec Baldwin's past behaviours. He went off on his daughter on the phone and he also once said "I wonder what it's like to accidentally kill someone". He's never shown any signs of remorse from this incident and he's more concerned about himself and blames others every chance he gets. Everyone else in this video is showing remorse except for him, it's almost like he's not bothered by it or that he already knew this was going to happen because it was premeditated. Everyone on set said they thoroughly checked the guns and for some convenient reason a real bullet only appears in the hands of the last person to hold the gun, who is Alec Baldwin. I personally believe that Alec Baldwin has always been very angry and I think that quote in the past was a clear sign of what goes on in his head. I think he knew he could get away with killing someone on set and play it out to be an "accident". He knew he could get away with it by blaming the other people on set for not checking the gun and everyone's too scared to tell the truth about Alec being the only person possible for putting it in there. The people on set would be too scared to get blacklisted from the industry or get taken to court by a rich celebrity. Alec snuck a bullet in there knowing he could blame it on them so he could finally learn what it's like to kill someone. He saw the perfect opportunity on a western set where guns are everywhere and knew how easy it was to call it an accident. Please let me know if anyone else agrees.
@charlesoutdoors24242 жыл бұрын
Only one problem. The bullets that were live and yes there was several on set were all half power hand loads from the guy that reloads there blanks and also live rounds. The half loads was a special request for another movie set some time back that somehow got mixed in with dummy rounds.

I don't really agree on that. Maybe he's an angry person....maybe hes gone off at his family members and said some things in the past but thats not proof he intentionally would kill someone or did kill someone. The calmest person in the room has been guilty of murder so having an angry personality and saying shit in the past doesn't automatically mean hes guilty. He may not make him look great but doesnt mean hes not innocent. And, unfortunately, a similar incident like this has happened before with the tragic accident of Brendon lee where he was shot by a projictle lodged in a gun that wasn't checked correctly and was handed to a unsuspecting actor. The prop person was found responsible not the actor who fired the weapon. I dont see why an actor would produce a film and star it in only to intentionally shoot someone....to then have that production shut down so he can be investigated and it become public so he can what?...get away with murdering the cinematographer for...some reason...in front of witnesses. From what ive seen of his reaction...he seems very shaken and not happy at all. Take his reaction how you think but everyone reacts differently to death and nothing can prepare you for how you'll feel about. As far as him blaming others...seems more like hes acting lile it shouldn't of even happened tp begin with and in his time of dealing with firearms this has never happened to him. Youd be looking for answers and people responsible. Imagine if you were handed a gun as actor for a scene then you fired it thinking it wasn't a real gun it turns out it was and it hit someone....are you going to assume that it was your fault straight up or are you going to freak the fuck out and try to find out what happened.

"Am I able to talk to them about pressing charges?" Bruh.. YOU are the director. Everyone was acting under YOUR literally direction. IF the person he wants to press charges on is Alec, then no he is absolutely wrong for that because Alec along with be rest of the actors are his responsibility. If he's talking about pressing charges on the Armorer, I agree she needs to be held responsible. She is very young and obviously very immature. Obviously too immature to have such an important job where you CAN NOT make mistakes. It's not a regular job where mistakes occasionally happen, that is the kind of job where you do not get to make mistakes. Every move you make has to be fully and clearly thought through and it is a necessity to take your time because it needs to be done right the first time. She should never have been in that position since she obviously could not handle it.

Funny how you ignore the OSHA investigation and determination. Alec Baldwin's ill-fated movie "Rust" was hit Wednesday with the maximum possible fine by state safety officials in New Mexico for violations on the set that contributed to the death of Helyna Hutchins a cinematographer. A report released by the state Occupational Health and Safety Bureau blasted "Rust" producers for "plain indifference" and noted they "willfully violated" known industry safety protocols in imposing a nearly $137,000 fine for firearms safety failures. During a hasty rehearsal last October, actor and producer Baldwin discharged a replica Colt that killed 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. In particular, the report indicates that the young armorer on the set, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was not given the chance to perform her job. Reed was not in the church on the Old West set when the gun was handed to Baldwin and then went off. "Rust did not provide staff responsible for ensuring firearms safety with sufficient time to inspect ammunition received to ensure that no live rounds were present," the report said. The report can be found by Googling New Mexico.gov/oshbrustreport

Everyone in the chain of custody should be criminally charged, including Alec Baldwin. All failed in their duties and did not follow the basic gun safety protocols. You are not excused from your obligation because someone else also was negligent.
@01nagni2 жыл бұрын
You don't tell children to follow basic gun safety protocols when handling toy water guns any more than you should have told Alec Baldwin, whose duty was to ACT as an ACTOR with a pre-checked unloaded firearm-not be a firearm specialist. While practicing those protocols could have prevented this from happening, that loaded gun should have NEVER been in the actor's hands in the first place and even if he didn't shoot it then it would most likely have been unfortunately used to shoot later. The guilty conscience that stems from the realization that Baldwin has taken a life, even if unintended, should be more than enough of a consequence for him. Hopefully this incident shows that people working in such fields should NOT trust people to do their jobs and check and/or test possible deadly weapons themselves personally in the off-chance this were to be repeated.
@davewave27602 жыл бұрын
@@01nagni This is not comparable to children and water guns. This is about an adult who did not practice gun safety, which resulted in an injury and death. Gun safety is not excused because you are an actor. In fact in the actors Firearms Safety Guide it says: "Treat all guns as if they are loaded and deadly". Feeling bad for a result based on a persons actions is not what the law is about. Most people who drive drunk and kill someone feel bad, but it does not excuse the behavior. Ignoring and/or not knowing gun safety is not an valid excuse for improperly handling a firearm. The act and result speak for themselves.

@davewave27602 жыл бұрын
@@Scypher0th Gun Safety 101: Treat all guns as if they are loaded and never point a gun at anything you do not intend to shoot. Two simple rules that were not followed by Alec. If he had only followed one of them, the resulting death/injury would have been avoided. The Actors Firearms Safety Guide states: "Treat all guns as if they are loaded and deadly". This is Actor specific, which Alec should be aware of and follow, as he is an Actor. Here is what Arizona Law States: AZ SS 13-1102 A. A person commits negligent homicide if with criminal negligence the person causes the death of another person, including an unborn child. The legal definition of "Criminal negligence" in Arizona is given in AZ SS 13-105-10 (d) "Criminal negligence" means, with respect to a result or to a circumstance described by a statute defining an offense, that a person fails to perceive a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the result will occur or that the circumstance exists. The risk must be of such nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that a reasonable person would observe in the situation. If your logic were to apply, a bad armorer could issue 20 loaded guns on set, nobody would need to check them, and 20 people could be killed/injured and only the armorer could be charged. Alec ignored basic gun safety, the Actors Firearms Safety Guide, and was in violation of Arizona law, which resulted in a death and injury. Perhaps his attorney will use your defense and argue that Alec is a 5 year old with a toaster.

I only have three questions; 1. How did a live round get into that gun? 2. Were live rounds mixed with prop rounds on the set? 3. Why were live rounds even on the set? Some actors are given gun safety training. Some are not. It is not usually up to the individual actor to check a gun because the action of rolling a revolver barrel might mix a dummy round used to show rounds in the chamber might get mixed with a flash, smoke, or other type of prop round. Sometimes the actor is a child, or even an animal. Sometimes actors are afraid of guns. The system is simple. The arms expert is required to directly hand any actor the gun and say “hot gun”, or “cold gun”. That did not occur in this case. So who is wrong?

The guy that supplied the armorer the guns and dummy rounds didn't check the box after it came back from another set. Evidently they had some half powder live loads made up for that set. several of those live rounds were mixed back in the box of dummy rounds. She somehow didn't shake that round to make sure it was a dummy. She most likely put the round she checked down when she had to brush out one cylinder and then picked up by mistake a different round than she had checked. Dave then was presented then gun to double check and he said he see 3 dummy rounds, Never checked the other 3. He just gave it a quick half visual inspection and missed the live round.
