Good Interview. The sad part is how different we experience politicians that stepped down from their powers in the sense that many suddenly show their other opinions which would have made them more complete politicians. Guess without the political pressures we would have better politicians?!

The interviewee got so defensive when Mikhail has asked him about comparing Poland and Russia! Major turn-off.

Well he's right. Poland was democratically electing kings in 15th century already. Democracy was the default for centuries with small exceptions in Polish history. In Russian history democracy was in total about 15 years out of a few hundred :) In 90s in Poland nobody even considered that Wałęsa could refuse to give up his power after he lost elections, it wasn't a concern.

Poland wasn't a democracy is was an oligarchy, only aristocrats could vote.

@@jamesgarner327 Well, it was more of a democracy by percent of population that could vote than early Great Brittain and similar to the percentage of people with voting rights in 18th century USA :) About 10% of Poland in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth time was nobility, half of them were male so they had voting rights.

@@MrOdrzut Ok, that's called a minoritarian gouvernement, not a democracy.
