Soke Yoshimi Inoue was universally recognized for his immense Karate knowledge, passed on to his students in a practical and entertaining fashion. I hope you will enjoy this video of his class on Suparimpei kata and its bunkai as much as I enjoyed recording and editing it.

@@senbonzakurakageyoshi662 Han getsu one of my favorite kata because i want strong and controlled breathing with my techniques when im still at my 20's; i dont know how many hangetsu and tekki shodan i perfom just for improve myself. In my early 30's i have accident one of my leg broken and back of my knee ligaments cut off other leg dislocate from ankle i cant even stand up 10 moths... After that point i cant perform any moves, started to think "is this all i can do for my karate, is it over?" im not doing it for competition and never have any intend from start, i did for myself so you cant believe how much i lose; still i wanna work on it because its part of my life at this point, after i can stand up with crutches try to do choku tsuki everyday 4 hours, just choku tsuki with thinking how do i improve its really hard when im in so much pain i literally cried everytime in training and after 6 month i reach some point! Something i can hold even with just feeling, its real!! And notice its just begining, mountain so big i cant cant even imagine the top but i can smile at it. Now why i tell you my boring life story? Because as i can see sensei Yoshimi have all the things i found in 20 in those years and can tell you more of it, explain them ,notice your mistakes, make you better at it, give you courage for making them better while he have smile on his face (maybe he have so much trouble inside but you can feel hes smiling all karate ka with feeling were connected) You have to respect THAT in my experience, try to learn from it, try to be better with it!! so please refrain yourself from proposal while having something this polished, im not saying han getsu or shoto kan bad and dont try to belittle you when im just normal average karate ka who loves japanese culture anime games etc. , just dont do it under my post im getting sad enough when watching these videos and think never have a change to meet him so its little hard when you say something like this PS. im not native english speaker so please forgive my mistakes im sure have lot of them but this much all i can. Have a great life!!!

Watching this made me realize that the international kata champions have much more crisp techniques, but they are missing something that this gentleman has, and I cannot quite place it. Yeah, maybe they are better from a technical point, but they don't have something that Mr. Yoshimi has, and I can't figure out what it is. Maybe it's a very casual competence that he has while the kata champions yell and scream. I'm not sure. But they are definitely missing something that he has.
@AlessandroTimmi3 жыл бұрын
I think it has to do with the fact that Japanese practitioners and masters are exposed to original, top quality Karate since very young age and for their entire life. World class international athletes may outperform them from a physical conditioning point of view, however it is extremely difficult to match the degree to which Japanese teachers like Soke Inoue interiorize Karate. It's their game after all, we are lucky to be able to learn from them.

He know what he is doing beyond just going through the movements. Remember okinawans developed these forms primarily as drills for self defense techniques

Though I'm a Hayashi-ha Shitoryu student teacher, we practice original Suparinpei from Goju ryu. Edit: referring to the finger flick on the last part of the kata.

Is it really the "original"? Jesse Enkamp in his "Karate Nerd in China" showcased kung fu masters who demonstrated Chinese versions of Seishan and Suparinpei was more complex than any karate version.

You are a great master of Shitoryu, but what you said about Gojuryu shows that you were really jealous of Gojuryu style. You must know Sensei Higaona of Gojuryu whose only one punch is enough to put you to sleep forever. You eulogize your style, no problem; but you trivialize others', it's bad. the real masters like Soke yoshimi sensei don't exist any longer .the last ones were sensei TORU and Susuki sensei . since then no english senseican match the skill handed down to them . as most are fake artists cash grabber , teaching knife defences to children can cause serious injury because the techniques don't work in real combat . the Wado ryu as we know it like it is taught by the likes of sensei vickerman and others of similar leanage is so flawed that l saw myself as the only technically qualified to teach all of his useless blackbelts .. left .

Unfortunately....your attacker will not attack you like a karate person (being in a forward stance and throwing an lunge punch, etc.) so none of these defenses will work! Such a useless, and impractical, art.
@luisramirez11614 жыл бұрын
Of course you NEVER know where or at what angle any attack may come from , best to be aware of each moment as it occurs you react when you need to not pre thinking any particular technique the katas serve only as a method of learning a variety of techniques and as a way to focus your reaction and power ,techniques can easily flow from one to another in no predetermined sequence ,any kata would be useless to attempt to use in a certain pre practiced pattern ,that's how I was taught , after quiet a few years of study and effort it has made me quiet strong and that knowledge also made me a better and more humble person . Never once have I instigated any negative situations , always attempting to diffuse all situations through a calm and peaceful approach ,yet I can truly say thank God for that knowledge the world being how it is ; the times that I've had no choice but to react , even with multiple attackers , my training sure did work for me and my family , so the art of karate and judo is beyond practical to me , my sensai was also from Japan .
@billslayer11754 жыл бұрын
@goggles789 LOL...yup, it's so hidden it allows all these karate bullshit artists to make up their own moves. It's all crap and you cannot show me any video of a karate master, etc. using any of this in real life.
@raghavendraradhakrishna57864 жыл бұрын
Karate or any martial art does not develops only strength and flexibility, it also trains your mind. If you practice with concentration, Valor and with great respect to the art, your mind and body reacts to it. At the time of attack, your mind and body reacts automatically to the situation and defends in a martial artistic way. It's a kind of reflex. This is the reason most of the Karate masters are philosophers. Examples are Mas Oyama, Bruce Lee, Gichin Funakoshi. The ability that I am mentioning will come after years of practice with concentration.
@blockmasterscott3 жыл бұрын
You might as well say that MMA is useless because no one wears just trunks instead of clothes. Or that boxing is useless because they wear gloves and don't hit below the belt. All combat arts have basic drills and rules that don't pertain to real life, MMA fighters wearing trunks and boxers wearing gloves. Same with karate with the stances. They do that to produce a foundation from physical conditioning. Of course it's not gonna look like that in real life. It's like asking a boxer to hold his hands like he's working on a speed bag when he's in a fight. Same thing.
