Daring to attempt it given the timeframe but a sure thing by the time it was done! Some of the other stuff I listened to from Blacklist I'd call daring, but not particularly enjoyable.

Yes, constantly impressed! Ryan, I think you coined a new word: "Warnified". They were given 8 days notice to give Metallica a song, so they could make printing time for the album. The Warning got the news, got in touch with Producer Matt Squire in LA. He few overnight and met TW the next morning in Monterrey and they all went straight to work. Alessia Cara (Canadian Grammy-Winning pop singer/songwriter) was in Toronto and worked with them remotely via Zoom. They took a metal song, stripped it to it's core elements, rewrote it as a Pop song, then Rockified it (their words) or "Warnified" it, in Ryan's terms. They recorded it and sent it to David Bendeth to mix it. Back to Metallica.... All done in ONE WEEK! It still amazes me.

Don't think having a tight timelime do necessarily have an negative influence on music. It seems musicians have an habbit of digging into details and use endless time on stuff that do not really make result better. Oasis' big hit Supersonic was written from scratch and finished recorded in less than a day. The band were actually in the studio to record an already written song but met problems with that and out of a little jamming grow Supersonic.

*Correction:* Metallica asked Alessia Cara to join the blacklist album. Then someone in Alessia Cara's camp who is also involved in The Warning's camp suggested both artists do a collaboration. Then Metallica was informed and it was a go. The Warning had a week to record & videoed this track with Alessia Cara in Canada & The Warning in Mexico. Also note of interest. The guy who joined The Warning on stage at Lunario DMX for their song *Dust to Dust* was Rudy Joffrey. He directed this video, as well as the *Evolve* music video. And Rudy is also their manager.

Both artists share an International Manager. His name is Chris Smith. He was the person who suggest the collab. Chris was at the Whisky shows in 2020, before he represented The Warning. He had heard about the band, and wanted to witness first hand if what he had heard was accurate. It only took him a few minutes to ask to be a part of the team. The girls won him over almost instantly with their performance. (He was also blown away by the packed house).

I'm a huge Metallica fan and Enter Sandman is my least favourite of all the Metallica songs. This version is absolutely freakin amazing. The girls did this arrangement in a week. They surely did Warnify it Ryan. Alessia did a great job on the vocals and thanks to Alessia the girls got this opp and it was a great collab. But when Queen Dany took over the vocals, chills all over. Dany's voice is just perfect for rock & roll. Best front woman ever in my opinion :)

Interesting take on Dany's singing. Most fans of The Warning point to Paulina as having the perfect rock voice. I don't agree with either. They both just have great voices, but to your thoughts I do like Dany's voice above Pau. I could get into technicalities, but that's useless. I just love how well she sings and Dany has done an amazing job at cultivating her voice. She just gets better and better. I don't really know what a rock singer voice should be, but I know Dany has an amazing voice. I love the way you put it "But when Queen Dany took over the vocals, all over." Ain't that the truth? 🤘🏾

Great reaction guys! Alessia Cara is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star. She has a huge following compared to The Warning so great exposure for the girls! I can't remember who produced the song for them but I do know that David Bendeth mixed the song and TW team produced the video at a local abandoned warehouse. When interviewed, Alessia Cara was asked if Metallica gave any feedback to this cover. She responded “Not directly, but through the ‘team,’ we heard that they really loved it,” she laughs. “So thank God, as long as we got the stamp of approval from them, I’m happy.” Great job by all involved and I hope that TW makes this song part of their tour repertoire.🔥💖

Thanks for another fun reaction. Due to the circumstances (described accurately below in Kevin the Truck Driver’s comment), The Warning had exactly one week to put this together from start to finish. When you really think about it, that is mind-boggling: they had to come up with an arrangement, find a producer, book studio time, connect with Alessia remotely, record it AND mix it. As luck would have it, they’d been working with producer/songwriter Matt Squire on a different project when the official word came down. Thankfully he was willing and able to travel to Monterrey the very next day to produce and co-arrange this interpretation with the band. I think when you factor in those logistics with the creative risk involved with turning an iconic song completely on its head, this might be their greatest achievement to date. I still prefer their original material, of course…but this is pretty damn good. 🙂

Fantastic spot on reaction for a fantastic rendition / re-make of a classic song. Yeah, ES seems trite these days, but TW reminds us why the song is great at the end by crushing our skulls with the main riff. But this is so innovative and beautifully arranged...I'm pretty sure the girls were, ahem, instrumental in how the re-make was composed and arranged and wasn't force-fed to them by any corporate monolith creative voice in the sky. Speaks to their brilliance not to mention how seamlessly they can collab with another artist, even if it's one from a completely different genre.

What a great reimagining of the song. They really changed up the key, tempo, so many things. That said, not sure I’d agree that the point of covers is to gain an audience. It could be, but in the case of The Warning and several other bands, they didn’t have their own songs, and for some folks, the skills and discipline to write a song is beyond their abilities. I have a good friend who plays lead guitar in a cover band and for 3 years now they’ve struggled to write a good song - just not in their skill set. They all play very most, most having 20 years or more but composing an original song isn’t happening. Anyway, enjoy your remarks, guys. Rock on! 🔥🤘 #NumberlyGarfs

You hit it on the head.. tired of the original as much as I love Metallica. I was 16 when the Black album came out and was one of my favorites of the year. BUT 91 what a year for music! so many great albums came out that year! BUT back to today lol The girls did a great job of pulling AC from pop into rock. They did what Metallica could have if they weren't a heavy metal band. This has become my favorite version of this song now. I played it at a family get together and all my cousins (like 8 of em) agreed and enjoyed this version more than the original because it is so fresh and well done. And cant wait to see them on Jan 27th and be right in front between Ale and Dany for the show. will say hi to you as well Ryan and the other TWA cioa for now buds!

Was waiting for both of your reaction to this video. Unlike your reactions to *Martirio* & *Disciple.* Your reactions was a let down considering *Enter Sandman (2021)* was better than *Martirio* & *Disciple.* They took a metal song and made it a Pop/Rock song. The ending was not Metallica but made it The Warning sound. Cause when it was finished. They leave you wanted to hear more. A typical Warning song.

@@torresilk4277 - I personally don't care for Metallica except for the song *One.* And The Warning's 2014 version of *ES* was good. I prefer when they played *ES* live in front of an audience. Plus I get they heard *ES* so many times. Like for me it was AC/DC's *Back in Black.* Your just sick of that song. I get that. But both of these reactors said they ending was the best. Guess it was too much of a change for them. Unlike us when we had that sneak peak snippet that was on the video game trailer. We were prepared for something dark & different.
