@Mr. Popo they do not hold the influence they held at all. None of them work or are associated with the 14th District Solicitor's Office, the Murdaugh name has been removed from the firm, and his only remaining son was booted from law school. Now, it is true that there is still one Murdaugh who works at the firm, and Buster Murdaugh secured a remittance to law school after paying some $60k, but ultimately they don't have anywhere near the pull or respect they've enjoyed for a century. Especially amongst the other elite Lowcountry families.

This is a common tactic employed by covert narcissists. They challenge the most simple question in order to imply that the other party is not articulate or clear and then they engage in circular conversations. It's a form of manipulation and gaslighting I doubt it has anything to do with buying time or gaining clear understanding. Notice his manipulation attempt with the question about him telling the dispatcher and Owen's that he checked pulses before calling 911. The prosecution played the recordings and Alex said, see, that's what I said not what you said. Having been around a close loved one who did this, I can tell you it's exhausting, which is exactly what they intend.

Also note on all other days of the trial, he has a tailored suit that fits and on the days he took the stand he used suits from prior to weight loss that hung on him and were ill fitted. I think he and his lawyers thought they'd pull it off. I think that was Poot's statement to the press..."AM thought he could pull it off." What he did is confirm to the jury that the man on the stand was willing to say or do anything, avoid all pertinent questions pertaining to the murders to avoid accountability.

My God, this is hours of the prosecution being forced to PULL TEETH. This guy must be purposefully and strategically playing dumb to put everyone to sleep, because anyone who's ever worked as a lawyer - as he has - should be able to understand the simplicity ot these questions. (...Or is that why he was disbarred?) The only person who would take every question thrown at him and take an overly exhausting amount of time dissecting them - and creating an overly careful answer for them - is a guilty one.

Never did we once consider blowing each other’s brains out. This is evil (narcissism and greed), not drug related. This dude was NOT taking as many drugs as he said he was. No one knew about his habit except those who found his pills. You can’t hide a REAL opioid problem.
