You should go ahead and get the second Monk & Robot book as well. Psalm for the wild Built was ok, maybe a little unsatisfying but I've heard the second book is more fulfilling. I'm in summer currently, and after this month I'll be in autumn. But there are some reads I do want to get to. There is An Encyclopedia of Faeries which I recently purchased. There is The Wood Wife by Terri Windling. A couple Charles De Lint books which are The Wild Wood, Someplace to be Flying, and Moonheart. I also would like to read some poetry, preferably by Elizabeth Barret Browning and Courtney Peppernell.

(it was my first time reading the author and I'm very curious to see what her thrillers for young readers are like). I don't have anything specific I'm looking forward to reading this spring - just hopefully making a dent in my TBR shelf!! LOL Thanks again!

🌸 Ella and I are currently reading the 3rd Keeper of the Lost Cities book. The books are really great. (On a side note, we've renamed Silveny, the alicorn in the book, Princess Celestia after the lead alicorn on My Little Pony. 🤣🦄) We also read Eva Evergreen...and it totally screams Kiki's Delivery Service. In terms of books that I'M looking forward to reading this spring is anything off of my TBR shelves. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm currently reading Neon Gods, atm, though...so there's a good chance the next books in the series will magically appear on said TBR shelves for me to read. 🤣🤣🤣

I freaking love your videos, Lexi ❤️🦊 You might not see this comment, but that’s okay. I’m going to write it anyway ❤️. I have read One Hundred Years of Solitude many times, and I hope this comment will help someone who feels very intimidated by it finally pick it up. But first, if you really don’t want another stranger telling you to read this book, you can stop reading this comment right here. First, general advice on how to get the most out of it. I hope it won’t make it look like a chore. I just think that this will make the experience more enjoyable overall. 1. Have the family tree on hand and use it as often as you need. 2. It is best enjoyed when you get immersed. So, I would say that it is not the right book for a quick ten-minute reading session. 3. If you are used to reading multiple books at a time, keep doing that. You want to have it fresh on your memory, sure, but you don’t want to overwhelm yourself. 4. And finally, don’t worry, you really don’t need to remember every single thing that happens to really enjoy it. I promise! Before I go on, please know that you are allowed not to read it; you are allowed to DNF it; you are allowed to not like it. There are millions of books out there. A few suggestions to finally read it: 😜 1. This will take less than five minutes. Stop reading this never-ending comment and read the first half of the first paragraph in the book up until it says “…waking up their souls”. You will get a taste of the author’s writing style; that’s all. You won’t regret it. 2. Bonus tip: you definitely can, but you don’t have to do it alone. Do a buddy read, organize a read-along, or find a friend who has already read it and loves it. They can help you with any questions that you may have. None of these are necessary, by the way. You might want to try one, both or none. That’s fine. That’s all. I’m sorry for making it this long. I tried to use the right words and now I’m late for dinner. LOL Lots of love!
@luciamedina1O19 Жыл бұрын
Love the tips! I started reading the book like five years ago on a trip and got halfway and after that I just forgot to keep reading. I read it in spanish since it's my first laguage and it was wonderful, I hope the english translation does it justice ❤️ I'm planning to start it again since I saw Netflix is coming out with a series based on the book. I hope Lexi reads it and makes a review so we can all talk about it ❤️ Buen día to you all 🩵

I love "seasonal" TBRs but for some reason I have trouble identifying a "spring" read. The other 3 are pretty clear what I look for. But one I really want to get to is Sarah Perry's Essex Serpent. I read a couple of chapters a few years ago, liked it, got distracted and never finished. I think the green cover is what gives me spring vibes. One Hundred Years of Solitude has also been on my TBR for years (2008)... it might be time? 🌸🦊
