I think you've grown into yourself on these vlogs. A lot of us "photographers" know most of the camera settings etc,... What I really enjoy is the story. And you do it very well. Thank you.

Your videos are just so good. The landscape the emotional engagement and introspection and the music. I so appreciate the amount of effort you put into the music choices you make for your videos. But that sunshine cliffhanger was totally mean! 😁Looking forward to the next one!

The reason we have a human civilization is that we always strive for more. We sometimes believe we'll be happy and can relax when we reach the next goal, but that's of course not how the world works. If we actually stay content and relax then it starts going downhill. Same for people, groups and countries.

The true definition of success is reaching a point where you are truly satisfied with everything you have achieved and to therfore simply do whatever makes you happy.

It always amazes me when I am feeling a certain way and turn on a video on which someone is expressing exactly what I am feeling. I do appreciate the things I have today, they are the things I have wanted in the past. I am frustrated with certain things that I cannot change, but I try to find the happiness in the things I have and look forward to the places and things I am going to do in the future. It's not always easy. But it can happen.

Hello from St.Lewis Labrador. It was a nice surprise to see my little community on this channel. Sorry you didn’t get a good iceberg shot. They seem to stay off our shores more the last few years. Depends on the winds and tides for sure. The price of gas here is ridiculous right? One company has the monopoly. As the saying goes here,” always a little more in Labrador.”

Just found your channel through the silly video about how much you paid for your gear. I kind of chuckled at it because my wife is so patient with what I buy. Aren’t we all just a bit “Gassy”? Any how, I subbed due to your depth of sharing what, and why, rather than the how of photography. Keep up the good work.

Great video! The timing of a talk on happiness and the deeper meaning behind it. Guy Tal talked about two forms of happiness in his most recent book that you might find an interesting topic - hedonic happiness and eudaimonic happiness. That chapter danced right around some of your core topics in this video! Stay safe!

Good Morning Alex 🌈🌈I feel so bad that you travelled all that way to get endless days of crap weather, so I sent an extra rainbow. A hack for making it easier to get out of bed on cold mornings from years of camping in Northern Ontario. It's easier if you are not getting into cold cloths, so put your cloths in the sleeping bag with you and you will have warm cloths to put on in the morning. Looking forward to the next episode.

I like how you video tape the perspective of you holding your camera about to take the picture and then you bring the viewfinder closer so the audience can see what you see (through the eyepiece) and finally you transition to the final edited photograph. It is a quick 5 second portion of your video, but to me it is high level storytelling. Made me feel like I got the best possible perspective of you taking the photograph. Think it would also translate well for some of your instructional videos with regard to composition.

I had no idea "Weather Station Kurt" existed, and I'm likely one of a handful of people that regularly travels to that part of Labrador. Even worse - I was just up there last week working about 8 nautical miles away at a radar site. That region is known as The Torngat Mountains and far more picturesque than southern Labrador. I actually put a video on 5 days ago entitled "Top of the Hill" that shows that area, and you can even see north to where "Kurt" would be. You don't know what you don't know...

Alex, you need a complete change of scenery and environment. If you want to do some great landscape photography and reflect on your life as well, consider the high deserts of the Southwest US, the Big Bend area of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. These areas in the fall are very special (and comfortable) and afford and infinite number of beautiful landscape compositions.
