Lance Reddick who played Charon (the front desk guy) passed away in March. He also did the voice of Commander Zavala in the game Destiny 2. Bungie, the company that makes the game has basically imortalized him and paid amazing tribute to him inside the game. He was a great actor for sure. His role in the series The Wire was great as well.

So Alex, to clarify, being an excommunicado in that universe means that he's like a wanted criminal among all those criminals, so nobody will be able to help him when that one hour passes (it was like the biggest thing Winston could do for him), or they'll be also breaking the Continental rules. Also, that contract on him still remains, and because he's neither gonna get help from anyone nor get a shelter in Continental, he's "free money" for everyone

I think you missed the part at the end where Winston told John that D’antoni’s contract had doubled & gone international. So not only can he not get any help or respite from the Continental, since he’s excommunicado, there’s an international 14 million dollar hit out for him. That’s what Winston was giving him the ‘one hour’ for.

@@rmay16 never saw it in a competition before Keanu started doing it. Now it's pretty common because it ejects mags faster. @singingwolf3929
@singingwolf3929 21 күн бұрын
@@moxbroker I was trained on that in the military 8 years before John Wick came out. The intention isn't to make a "Faster" reload. It is to clear an empty magazine if it doesn't fall freely from the mag-well. We won't get into manufacturing tolerances. The biggest issue is dirt/sand "clogging up" the works. This is part of the reason why the Beretta M9 (92) has a diamond shaped into the magazine, to collect dirt and sand and help to prevent the magazine from sticking in the well because such debris. Regarding it not being seen in competitions, it is 2 fold. 1: Most competitors have their equipment tuned, and are in situations, to make this is non issue. 2: the "Flick" throws off your sight picture. If you're able to keep your sights on the target whilst reloading, you can get your next shots off faster. Now, flicking (even with a magazine that isn't sluggish to fall) will increase speed, however, you need to be able to reacquire you're target just as fast in order to be able to use it in a competition setting. This boils down to the old adage of 10,000 hours.

Another fun fact, when anyone says "oh" on the phone when dealing with John Wick it's a call back to the Matrix when Neo says "Whoa" after entering the Matrix. Also, notice that no civilians are ever killed in these movies, they did it on purpose so it keeps the two worlds separate so you don't have to worry about them getting arrested or caught because it's completely separate. I started competing in practical shooting matches in the late ‘80s and it wasn’t until John Wick that this kind of shooting was used in film. And, just like everything else he does Keanu worked his butt off with pros to achieve the level of skill you see on screen.

The John Wick series is not only a fresh spin on action movies (which has been repeated to hell and back) but it has a new fresh story. JW is a very deeply interwoven story with so many layers. John was forced back in the first one and fought for his wife's memory. In the second, he fought because he fought for Helen. In the third movie, he fights because he killed someone on Continental property, which is sacred because the High Table protected it. That's why you can't conduct assassin business there. It's an extremely well-written story and fun fact, Chad Stahelski is not only Keanu's stunt double from the Matrix but JW is also his first director job. It's extremely rare for a first-timr director to make a giant success their first time out, but he did it. Next spring, John Wick Chapter 4 comes out. LET'S FUCKING GOOOO!

I grew up out in the country in southeast Arizona so small town boy and hated it, I always told my friends as soon as I'm an adult I'm outta here. I joined the Navy and was so stoked to get out of the country, I went to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Dubai, LA, was stationed outside Seattle during the grunge movement so as a older teen/young adult, that was amazing to me. Especially being such a music fan. But now that I'm pushing 50, my wife and I had a house built out back out in southeast AZ 60 miles from the nearest city of Tucson out in the desert in the foothills. So peaceful, but it is funny how as you get older you kinda go full circle. I appreciate the country and the peacefulness way more now

Re: "Did you just cut his *butt* ? It's a fast scene, and I'm watching on my small phone screen, but from what I know of anatomy, I'm guessing John Wick slashed the femoral artery, right where the upper thigh joins into the groin. That is one of the "certain death by *rapid* blood loss" cuts to make; the femoral artery is one of the main blood vessels of the body.

The perfect thing about the John Wick movies is that they fit Keanu Reeve's acting abilities like a glove. That is, looking way cool, saying very little and only in a low gruff voice, except for the occasional psychopathic outburst. The Clint Eastwood school of acting. Bruce Willis followed the same path and it served him well.

"I wanna know what John Wick's wife was like, to have that kind of hold on him - " My read is that the wife simply represents peace. And love. And that John Wick is an inherently troubled man, clinging on to the idea of peace and love, and just being appreciated for who he is, rather than what he does.

Speaking of Keanu doing a lot of range work in these movies, it shows greatly throughout the movies. This shows thru things like him reloading when the gun would actually be out(unlike other movies with their infinite bullets) and the scene in the museum where he reloads the pistol, and then flips it up to check the chamber. The gun he was using at the time is known for having bullets get lodged so him performing this check to make sure it is clear to fire shows the time spent on the range.

The legs are actually great targets in knife fights, the femoral artery is massive and if it gets cut, you’ll bleed out super fast, also where it looked like he stabbed him in the butt, he was probably cutting his hamstring, it’s on the back of the thigh and it’s why he went down on that knee
