They really built the Tumbler for the movie. There were a couple versions for different types of scenes, but the one used for the action stuff is a real vehicle. Had a really cool suspension, similar to what you'd see on extreme off road stuff. And a fairly powerful engine. They ended up destroying them after the last film, but there's an episode of Jay Leno's Garage where he got to check it out and drive it. I really love the Michael Keaton batmobile, but the Tumbler is a close second. It's just badass. In terms of comic book accuracy this one was damn near perfect. The only other comic book movie that gets it this close to the source material is Deadpool. Watchmen was also good, although they did change a few things.

Such an amazing trilogy. The biggest flaw for DC for me is they haven't had any continuity over the years. The franchises and even remakes stand on their own so much. But I think I remember reading that they are going to change that soon. I'm guessing based on the success Marvel had doing it.
@PhantomLantern28142 жыл бұрын
Honestly that is a double edged sword. Yeah sure they don’t have any continuity, but that just means they aren’t anchored down by being part of a bigger universe that they’re obligated to interact with. You can tell a solid Batman story and change things up, you don’t have to worry about maintaining status quo with him because he’s gotta show up in Justice League 4 or something.
@mage14392 жыл бұрын

@@mage1439 While I see where you're coming from, I can't say I agree. A lot of Batman's best moments come from his interactions with other heroes. His bromance with Superman is the best part of any comic they're featured in. Not to mention his... Er, complicated relationships within the Bat Family.
@mage14392 жыл бұрын
@@MandatoryFruit Sorry, I should have clarified. In the movies he's best standalone. Robin is fine, but beyond that, nah. I'll even clarify further. Live action movies, since a lot of the animated ones carry a lot of the wider world. But in the LA movies there's too much to establish. Once again, though, having A Batman in the shared universe is cool but the non-shared movies are usually better, partially because you can jump right in.

PTSD is right. Batman's main origin story is that he refuses to get help for the trauma he experienced at a very young age and uses his Batman persona to let out his pent up hate, fear and aggression on people who had nothing to do with the trauma he suffered. Sure he might justify it by saying he is fighting crime but his methods, actions, relationship with his family, friends and loved ones speak of a man with severe mental illness and anguish almost to the point of sociopathy. I like Batman as a Superhero in a Superhero world but as a person, the man needs help. A lot of it.

I feel like that’s a very bleak way to look at batman that is largely created from the movies. Yes he’s a damaged individual but he’s not some raging psycho who’s only interest in beating on criminals. He genuinely helps people. Both as Bruce and batman. And he has sympathy and attempts to help many of the people he fights against. He’s not just some monster using his trauma to beat on people because they’re criminals. Batman is a man doing his best to help his city, Despite knowing he’s not gonna be able to fully change it no matter what he does. In my opinion batman is all about the small victories. It’s not about ending crime it’s about helping reduce the damage crime causes. Every time he saves a hostage or prevents an assault that’s win. Every time he gets a criminal to go straight and get a job at Wayne enterprises that’s a win. Every child that gets to have their parents alive and healthy is a win. Batman is about helping in whatever way he can, not beating on criminals to relief deep seeded trauma. I feel like this one thing no Batman movie has successfully showed off yet.

Bob Kane created Batman to be basically the polar opposite of Superman, both in physiology and psychology. The Man of Steel has often been referred to as the big blue boy scout, while the only thing Batman has in common with a boy scout is he's almost always prepared for any eventuality.

As Joker and other characters point out (in various storylines over the years) Batman is just as "crazy" as the Joker, it just so happens that his particular brand of crazy involves saving innocent people from harm, so Gordon humors him for the greater good. Some aspects of Batman are methodical, rational, and involve complex planning, but at the heart of it, yeah he has a few screws loose. Fun facts: 1 Cillian Murphy had auditioned for the role of Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Ultimately, Bale edged because of the voice range/ persona he could offer (grisly voice for Batman and spoilt/ poker face/ cocky attitude for Bruce Wayne). However, Nolan was impressed by Murphy that he decided to offer the role of Dr. Jonathan Crane/ Scarecrow. 2. The cracks you hear when Ducard/ Ras and Bruce are dueling on the frozen lake, those are real sound of ice sheet cracking at the location. While shooting, the lake had big cracks and everytime they heard cracking noises, they had to stop and check before continuing. Nolan relies on practical effects and less on CGI (there are some great reports about this for Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk and Tenet). 3. There are several versions of the Tumbler (Batmobile). There’s a road going version, and then there’s one with an actual jet engine and super beefy suspensions to perform jumps. Nolan had the intention of building a batmobile that was a cross between Lamborghini and a Hummer (fast, utilitarian and strong) 4. Certain overhead shots of Gotham city in the movie are miniature sets that were built practical effects and for close up shots, it was in-studio setup. 5. Tech that we see Batman use was developed in reality and in use by the British Ministry of Defense. The idea was to be as close to reality and practicality, WHAT IF there is a real Batman in the world tomorrow (?). 6. Nolan had no plans to write and direct the two sequels. Even though the movie ends with a teaser of The Joker (card), it was a way to give an impression that the world of Batman will continue to new challenges (plus, since the previous Batman movie had ruined the franchise, WB wasn’t sure how Batman Begins would perform). But we are lucky we got The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Sadly, unlike Marvel movies, Nolan had kept a demand that his movies were to remain standalone and limited to Batman universe only. Hence why the DCEU had start of a new universe with Man of Steel in 2013 with the idea of a connected universe, after the release of The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.

"she was...taken from me." (7:05) Isn't that a easter egg? sounds like a reference to the Taken series?

"That gave it away! That totally gave it away!" THAT. WAS. THE. POINT lol :D it's answering her question on 2 levels: 1. "it doesn't matter what my name is", 2. "also, it's Bruce" That's GENIUS dialogue right there!

The dude who you asked what was up with his neck is another Batman villain named Victor Zsasz who is a homicidal maniac that worked for the mob butchering people. He has a scar on his body for every person he's killed, including what you saw on his neck.

I can add some insight to the film, the League of Shadows (or by the comics name, Assassins) is the organization responsible for Gotham's stock market decline that worsened the stability of the city, where Bruce's parents built the monorail to unite the city. The parent's death at Joe Chill's hands inadvertently motivated the rich and powerful to fix the decaying metropolis, which put a halt on the League's plan, so the League was indirectly responsible for killing the parents. This was their first attempt, and with Bruce Wayne, that was their second attempt and look how that went.

I'm a bailiff at my county's superior court house. Our security screening is pretty good, no one's ever snuck a weapon past us in recent memory. For Bruce to get a gun INTO the court house, and for Chill to not have a full police and court security escort while being lead out, either they're incompetent, or they were paid off. Also a group of bats can be a camp, colony, cloud, or flock
