Crying through these two episodes because I recognize, finally, the grieving work I was never allowed to do when my dad died when I was 11. Was tranquilized, not allowed to go to the funeral, and angry at everything and everyone ever since and I am 62! Never understood how to let my inner child grieve till now. Powerful episodes. Thank you Alex Howard and Paul for helping countless others through these shows.

Sharing this sensitive content without causing prejudices to any of the parties, but making out of it a method for learning from the experience of other people, is, in my opinion, an art per se, in itself. Thank you!

Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that. I can't really overstate the amount of care, conversation and reflection goes into striking so many delicate balances - Oliver (who leads In Therapy) in particular has become a true master (in my opinion) at finding that :-)

Yes, they did an extremely great job in that respect, it was something we discussed prior to filming

Wow, loosing my daddy at 6 and my husband at 34 I see so many similarities with this. I can't wait to finish the series and find more healing.

Just shows u that kids are just blank slates and whatever is reflected back to them becomes their narrative about themselves. So many parents have no capacity to reflect the true picture to a child. That sets a child up to approach life that actually depletes them of life by paying the price of proving that their picture was wrong all along.

Yes, so much of who we are is shaped in childhood.... and the empowering part is we can heal :-)

@@AlexHowardTherapy absolutely..but very few can afford therapy to understand this dynamic..its very tricky to get to this through self education when u are struggling under various demands this society puts u under on a daily basis.

The "inner critic" can have a valuable purpose, as well as be a pain in the butt.

We are very careful to focus on the subjects story and except in certain circumstances leave those details out.... it is a delicate balance and I do give a little context in a few places in the voice over....
