To be honest with myself, I hate my parents. Both have depression, and my father has bipolar disorder with anger issues. They are 75 years old and denied their mistake, still gaslighting and pointing fingers at me. Their thinking is time to heal everything. They moved on now; there is no point in talking about it, so I should just let it go and think about the blessing I have in my life. I am learning and understanding my anger. It is a form of emotion that I was not allowed to feel or understand on my own feelings. I am seeing a therapist now.

This was so spot on for me as I'm in the Reset program and just recently started working on the module, which was Pierre's homework from last session, exploring my feelings. Including anger towards my parents, which is hard but I feel may be easier accessed with the clarification of two parallell truths. Relating very much to Pierre's way of thinking and reasoning as a way to avoid feeling, I find it very interesting and helpful to get to witness the process of Alex guiding him to find and put words on the felt sense in the body. This is such important and valuable work you are doing, Pierre, and I feel deeply grateful toward you for letting us learn from your journey. And toward Alex and team for your dedication and generosity. Thank you!

The clearest explanation, guidance and permission for those of us processing our own inner child feelings of anger and rage (after decades of intellectualizing them away) and at the same time attempting to process the guilt we feel as parents because of the way we parented our adult children. It's a mental/physical load. Thank you Alex.🌻

Can one truly communicate with that inner child? Would you recommend any guided meditation maybe for such thing? Whenever I have tried something similar, I thinking (!) what the younger self would really feel...

@@djVania08 I am not a professional in this field. Pierre's sessions have touch me in a very helpful and relatable way. My personal experience with meditation is that there are two (my favorite) guided meditations in the RESET program that when participating, I have actually been much more in touch with my inner child and I am understanding things I haven't understood for 70+ years. The experience is difficult to put into words but it has been some of the most revealing and healing experiences I have had after years of meditation and therapy. I can't explain it but I am more hopeful than I have been. Also working the RESET program is supporting revelations. and healing.🌻

This is where I am at, trying so hard to process some of my mental and physical abuse but keep getting tripped up with the way my parenting has harmed my child that is now an adult.

Its so tricky to balance the anger and sadness you have towards your parents that the inner child (and even adult you) has, and then dealing with the guilt that comes, and even compassion and understanding you may have towards them.

Thank you for sharing it. It can take a life-time to overcome childhood trauma. It is a constant evolution and work in progress. And it is very important to find the right person. The right mentors. The right support! Because children cannot process emotions how we can eventually do as adults.

I’m not sure about the tech guy asking personal questions to Pierre before the session? If I was the client i wouldn’t like this! 🤔 it must be quite difficult with the camera to not go into being ‘the good client’ this is something that could make me feel a bit self conscious or inhibited! Pierre is a lovely guy!

I trust it's okay for me to ask a question. A family member has absolutely no early memories prior to being aged seven. Should this concern her? Oh, by the way, I am absolutely loving your series and your sessions with Hayley initially and Pierre and for some reason, I am feeling so happy within myself after listening to you Alex. From what I have read and learned from healing from my own childhood - no, you don't actually need to remember the memories themself to heal. In fact, for many, recalling them can be re-traumatizing.

"They did the best they could" , "they loved you the best they could" are cop outs. We need brutal truth not platitudes

do you believe if he is able to give himself permission to feel his feelings and work through those feeling he would come to a place where he could love his parents from a place of compassion and empathy?

I had a therapist tell me that you cannot have compassion and empathy, truly, without feeling the anger (or whatever other 'negative' emotion) first.

I dont agree with this At all! It is the behavior you hate- not the persons. True that there may not be any +ve change in them over time but watching the emotions and releasing is ok but to say its ok to hate the parents- is NOT a healthy approach
