I think you can affirmate all you want, but if is totally different from your core belief, you will never believe the affirmation. Mine was: you should not exist. Not be there. My mother always said that children are one big misery. She constantly made me feel like I was not good enough and should not exist. What made my difference is processing my youth. My therapist detecting lies I believed. Made me give them back to my mother or father. During the session . And then giving myself new beliefs. The therapist remarks were also very healing. Once he said: you are more then welcome here. This was after a session about not being wanted and my father saying to me as a young child he would help me pack my things if it was not to my liking. Another big healing for me is the high five method of Mel Robbins. I started loving myself. Seeing myself as beautiful by doing it every day.

To be battered psychologically as a child goes a long way in ruining one's whole life. To be 'seen and not heard', to not 'give any backchat', to not be 'encouraged in any way', to suffer coldness from a parent, for one parent to be completely 'absent, while being part of the family. This authoritarian upbringing (common in the 60"s) is devastating. Life's pressures ongoing add to this maelstrom of woe. No wonder so many of us are funked up, whilst the high self esteem people run and ruin the planet

I don't think they love theirselfs either..these are the nacisstic personalties who ruin our nature and push the Wars😢. A psychologically healthy human beeing is Loving & Careing.

If I am enough just as I am, why the need for growth?

Because you want to. Not wanting to grow, explore, apply yourself etc. is usually a sign that something has gone wrong in one way or another. You may be too convinced of yourself, or you may be exhausted, disillusioned, depressed, traumatized etc.

Self acceptance and self improvement are different. You are a work in progress not meant for stillness, forever growing towards the potential you hold inside you, and maybe this is not known or forgotten. Movement is good!

I think, "I am enough" and "need for growth" is different context. I think "I am enough" is refer to self acceptance, accept yourself for what happen to you are, your upbringing, and refer to your self worth. But, need for growth is you are evolve as human beings, to growing yourself to better version of yourself.
