Edited reaction to The Golden Girls (1985) - S4:E16 - Two Rode Together | Canadian Reaction | TV Commentary.
We are back with another THE GOLDEN GIRLS REACTION. Today, we are watching TWO RIDE TOGETHER. I really enjoyed this episode. After another one of Sophia's friends pass away, Dorothy starts to feel like she needs to create more memories with her mom before it's too late. She decides to take them both on a vacation at Disney World! Elsewhere in the episode, Rose and Blanche attempt to write and illustrate a children book together. Will they succeed without killing each other? And who will be my MVP this episode?
I can't wait to see what you guys think of this episode!
The Golden Girls is an amazing AMERICAN SITCOM that follows four older ladies living in a house together and their shenanigans.

I have lost both my parents, and I am still quite young. I love that Dorothy lived with her mom in later years. Most people don't even if their parents are alive. It makes me happy the Dorothy and Sophia moments.

Rose: 'in the magical land of (what she said), then you hear Dorothy whisper 'oh s*it.' there's Sophia: 'it was a kinder, gentler America, I turn to my wife Barbara...' 😂🤣

Episodes like these are why I love the show so much. So touching, so relatable but they can make you laugh at the same time. I too am going through the same thing with my mom, and I love that the show touches on it.

I worry about that too as my parents are getting older. Also, my Dad is battling cancer so it’s even more difficult 😥. But he’s doing well. Love your videos ❤

Treasure the times you have with thw people you love while you still can. There's time to reminisce but if you're stuck in the past you'll miss your chance to make new memories. I lost my mother in 2013 when she was 41 and I was 19. I'm so glad you got to have that trip with your mother and I can't help but be a little envious. Dorothy definitely gets this episode's MVP. And if the girls mention a name and the audience laughs, feel free to do a quick google search on that name. A lot of those jokes are rooted in the popular culture that would've been relevant at the time of the initial writing and recording. It's also a fun way to learn some pop culture trivia on the fly! I am going to be so sad when this series ends because of how engrained into my weekly routine sharing another episode with Alexa and "the girls" has become. I'll be looking forward to what you do next ❤

“On Golden Pond” is an old movie with Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn, and elderly couple who go back to their old summer vacation spot “Golden Pond” n its about family relationships with an estranged daughter n whatever so thats why Sophia referenced it. It was an award winning movie in the early 80s. Sophia or Dorothy deserved the MVP

Also the namesake for the season one episode On Golden Girls (which is a kind of random esoteric title tbh)

When Blanche said something about Marilyn Quayle and you said you don't know who that is she's a lawyer and novelist who is married to the 44th vice president of the United States back in the late 80s. She served as the second lady from 1989-1993.

Ahhh, that sucks that a storm kept you from going into Disneyworld! :( Did the storm ruin your whole trip? But yeah, Dorothy kind of annoyed me in this episode, thanks to how she wasted a perfectly good trip doing things that could (and should) have been done at home. Though I can understand her motives. Though I'm glad you and your mom got have a nice trip! :) And yes, Sophia's George Bush speech was hilarious. XD As for your question, in my case, it's my grandma. During my childhood, I spent a lot of days over at my grandma's house because my mom was single and working. So in some ways, my grandma was almost like a second parent to me. She's currently 85, has dementia, and is living in a (albeit nice and expensive) retirement home. While she's taken good care of, it's hard visiting her, because... sometimes it's like visiting a stranger. There are some glimpses of the person she used to be, but ultimately, I'm watching her slowly but surely "shut down." I've had several dreams about her, one where she was literally falling to pieces, and another where I was trapped in the car while she drove and crashed us. I haven't spoken to any one in my family about this, because like Dorothy (and Sophia), I'm not good at emotions.

I won't be pausing because it impacts how I film my full lengths and screws with the timing of the source recording. Didn't want to bother you with the technicalities, but here we are 😊

You're too young to know Marilyn Quayle. She was the wife of Dan Quayle, the Vice President of the USA at the time this aired. I had to look her up myself as I'm probably not much older than you. The joke was a dig at the Vice President. And Dorothy and Sophia most likely went to Disney World because it is in the state of Florida and they live in Florida. Disney Land is in California, across the country.

We have to remember that her stroke changed her. She has no filter now. So I can't be too hard on her. In the flashbacks you can tell she was much more gentle before.
