i love the divine comedy of the absurd as pure entertainment and in the theater where it belongs. you put absurdity out on the street and it can turn into a thug who poisons the american well and gets elected president.

I was thinking about the writer's strike, and how it is rather futile. There is such a huge mass of content out there that can be packaged and consumed who really even notices that we aren't getting anything new? For example there are only a few scripted shows that I miss (Bill Maher and SNL) but there is still plenty to watch. I actually think writers are vastly underestimated in their value to entertainment. Look at how Game of Thrones was great until they started working from an outline. I just don't think the writers have immediacy on their side, and if you don't have that a strike is against yourself.
