I unequivocally love when the students ask "why". The quintessential question for learning and this teacher has shown the students that they can feel okay by not understanding a concept straight away. Brilliant. I love these videos.

Hey! I wanted to say Thank you so much! I'm in college algebra currently this Fall Semester and my teacher is really hard to learn from. She skips steps and doesn't explain what she's doing half the time. Most nights, I leave the classroom totally lost. But, since I've been watching your videos, I've gotten 96% on my first two tests. Thank you very much, I'd be literally failing without you and that can't happen when you're applying to the Nursing program. Thanks for doing this for us, you're honestly helping tons of people! :)

Every video I've watched is permanently with me now, and my confidence has skyrocketed. If I were selecting teachers for my school, I'd go out of my way to have a teacher like him in one of my classrooms. Superb teaching skills, top class.

After 40 years I can recognize a master teacher. I also view him as a "power teacher." I have said for years, "Plug it in." We were taught that statement in the 60s. He uses rewarding comments and no put-downs when they answer incorrectly. He also makes positive life comments as a sideline. It is nice that he has a positive and focused class. This is not a typical classroom. This was a new topic, and he talked about practicing at home. Great presentation and students understood.

I think what people have a problem with is the fact that they so often just blurt things out without thinking. It's a kid thing. Good teachers are able to just ride that wave of knee-jerk responses and steer them to the correct answers. Think about it. As awkward as it may have seemed to us as adults, the kids seemed to be learning. The best teachers find their own way to get through to kids. This one actively engages them like a maestro.

I don't even think im going to pay attention in her math class anymore and instead im just going to come home and do my own notes on your videos. I wish i had you as a math teacher. So much better than mine, you wouldn't believe the shit she was making us do to get the vertex and the x/y intercepts. It was ludicrous, anyways thanks a lot man.

I totally wish my high school's math classes had had this kind of enthusiasm. I would have probably learned something then. As it is now, when I am planning to go back to school, and having to re-teach myself or completely learn from scratch how to do this kind of math, I am finding that watching these videos is super helpful and lessening my flight urge to run away from math (like I did in the past). These kids are super lucky to have such an entertaining teacher who is patient, informative, and willing to show how to solve this instead of just copying it from a book like the "teachers" I had in the past. Keep up the good work Teacher-man!

I love this teacher's pedagogic methods - he is a great teacher. In retrospect I feel sad classes at my university hardly allow any space for interaction. The professors always come out with the excuse "I don't have the time to answer all 300 students in-depth, so keep it short". I always have many questions but my professors told me to keep my mouth shut because I am 'slowing the class down'. Hooray for university, no? And when I ask them if I can speak to them after class hours they tell me they are 'too busy' and 'not available'. When I go to the student services and ask for help there, they tell me "we don't know any student groups that can help you", while there are at least four fraternities on my campus. I haven't bothered to contact the fraternities and I don't want to join them because most they do is being idiots. I had to shell out $2000 in private professor fees to pass some classes I had a very hard time understanding, thanks to my stupid university's elitist mentality. Discouraging asking questions is one of the main reasons I failed some courses at least three times in a row (but I passed them the fourth time after tremendous amounts of near-impossible effort). Anyway.. great video.

+Leira Andrea T. Ubiña It's as simple as that... so why is my book telling me things about "translates units to the left blah blah blah" and "parabola opens downwards upwards blah blah blah" and a lot more elements that's too confusing to figure?

Thank you! I appreciate your humor, it helps me focus more. I could never focus on math videos this well and now this is my go-to math channel. Your class is also very attentive and ask lots of questions, which is very great! I think you and your class are both doing an amazing job :) keep up the great work.

The atmosphere you create in the classroom makes it comfortable for those who have questions to ask them. Really good... I'm interested in teaching, which is why I'm studying maths again after so many years. I can learn from how you conduct a class as well. Thank you!

Can everyone please stop calling these students stupid? It's rude and uncalled for. They are students. That means they are learning, just like the rest of us here. Now that that is out of the way, thank you very much for this video. I always have a very hard time paying attention during class and this grabbed my attention and was easy to understand.

God Bless, Thanks SO MUCH! I'm struggling so much in Algebra 1 due to my teacher not explaining things very well, even through questions. Every time we learn something new, I go home, go to "KZbin," look for your videos on the subject (which seems you have everything!,) and learn a bit more through your videos! Once again, thanks so much, keep up the great math videos!
