There is something haunting and moving about Layne and Jerry's harmonies- very addictive. I always have AIC playing in my car - can't get enough of their music. Whenever I hear Layne singing Rotten Apple, I Stay Away, Nutshell it really affects and moves me too. @@maxwellgreen5750

except for the horribly sharp out-of-tuneness of the vocals on the recorded version. This version also lacks the Bb- Bb- Bb- Bb- G - Bb- (b c b) (Eat of the apple so young) bit.. but sing that part along (layne's part) to it, and it sounds awesome!!

This might be the best version of this song ever besides the studio recording. Absolutely Magical. Duvall gets far too much undeserved flack, but he's a legend in his own right. He's allowed for AIC to thrive and live in the modern age while still honoring Layne's legacy. Mad Props.

I'm a 46 year old man watching this in 2023. 29 years and 1 day after Jar of Flies was released. Remembering the first time I heard this when I was 17. I think now, if I was and and AiC show and they played this, I would honestly start crying. This song is both beautiful but sad. Mellow but uneasy. So many memories of that time in my life, but this song and the JoF album never leaves my rotation. Setting myself a reminder to come back and watch this on Jan 25th, 2024 on the 30 year anniversary of JoF.

When they first brought him around as a replacement I was kind of mad but a few years after I accepted that people need to hear this music Still new generations experience how great Alice in Chains is live William does a good job and sometimes the way his vocals blend with Jerry's just feel so right I know Jerry misses layne so much they were brothers pretty much more even at his worst. example during the unplugged show layne was out of it and Jerry had a stomach bug and a trash can next to him and layne messed up a few times and without missing a beat Jerry told him it was okay buddy let's start it from the top instead of getting mad and irritated about it (especially since he was sick) but he really loved him and knew his time with him was short so he cherished every second with him until layne locked himself away from everyone.... my mom was a addict and it didn't make me not love her it made me realize Herion was the devil pretty much and people really need it to get thru the day once they've done it for so long it's just sad how it all played out. I miss you mom every day I think about you and wish you was here still... I'm only 28 and you've been gone 3 years now but feels like eternity but I'll never judge a person for dealing with their inner demons... we all have some you just have to find a way to contain them.. sorry so long guys I just get emotional with AIC because of personal experience... yall be safe and much love brothers and sisterss... we are all in this together

Jerry is using just the wah, for sure...if he had the talk box he would have the straw in his mouth and wrapped up to the Mic Stand...Sounds good enough, and that's how I do it also...

Jerry is such a incredible guitar player!! and though I thought M.S was a great bassist Mike Inez is another level!!! and Sean is underrated , his drumming is spot on always! the reason the unplugged concert was so tight started with Sean's playing.! Will does a damn good job on vocals as well!! Always will miss Layne though. hard to top his vocals.

I have always found this song to be Layne's song, expressing his life and how he feels. I know Jerry cantrell wrote it and he deserves credit as well, but just seems like they should not play this without layne, makes me sad... You will not be forgotten layne. (Just my opinion, no need to comment if you disagree)
