It does. Jerry & Sean said in a recent interview that they put LS and MS on the drum kit so everyone knows that Layne and Mike are with them in spirit during EVERY show. Never to be forgotten.

Duvall doesn't deserve ANY of the hate he takes from people. He was hand picked by Jerry Cantrell, firstly just to fill in when Layne couldn't perform because he was high on smack 24/7. Duvall hasn't ever been disrespectful of Layne in any way shape or form. I love the original AIC as much as any fan, but Duvall didn't come in with his goal being to replace Layne, because Layne chose heroin over the band and left on his own accord. I'm not judging the man because I'll eternally love what he did with these guys, but I'd rather have them as they are now than not have them at all. And they're still excellent now, and a breath of fresh air compared to the shit that constitutes music these days.

Steve Em I agree, William is great. I mean obviously nobody could have replace Layne. But you'd have to be out of your mind to hear William, and see him do a song like this and say that he doesn't do the old songs justice. He absolutely does justice for this song and any other old AIC song he does.

Duvall can never do the impossible like replace Layne but he has done wonders with what he has been given. He has carved out a name for himself in the annals of Alice in Chains while being respectful of Layne's legacy. Ultimate respect to him.

Stop arguing over a legacy of complete beauty, Layne spoke to me like a brother, the memories I have attached to this song are a HUGE part of my youth, and I will never forget what it means to me, William speaks to me in the same way only differently if that makes any sense, I had the pleasure of meeting William and he is a lovely man humble and gracious. He's telling me my story again, and for that I'm grateful.

Layne would smile at this and be happy seeing his brothers carry on. They've all let go, it's time the haters did too. They didn't make him waste his life. He wouldn't want them to stop.

gasmaskboi19371945 Those are two completely different circumstances. Layne said that in 1999 when he was done singing altogether, he wasn't coming back even with AiC. Also. MS was more of aside project, not an actual band.

Got to respect Duval. Laynes shoes can't be filled but AIC"s sound has evolved. Kudos for continuing to rock! You can tell Jerry and Duval work hard to harmonize together, its very very hard to sing like Layne! And pull off these songs at a high level like this.

@ JAGGED62. You're absolutely right! I saw AIC on their last tour opening for Metallica, before they left the tour. I hate saying it, but they really down-staged Metallica. Their interaction with the audience, their stage presence, their sound! And even though Layne was in bad shape, AIC put on a blistering three and a half hour show. Metallica came out, did what they were paid to do and left.

Before Layne passed away, he was not on speaking terms with AIC, he was also very dope sick and dying I think he would be happy that the band moved forward, to please the fans, even though I agree, the new singer is good, but will never replace Layne's beautiful haunted voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@67woozy 2 жыл бұрын
Dope sick is a term used to describe the early symptoms of withdraw that Heroin addicts experience when they can’t afford or find Heroin. Layne had a net worth of 5 million dollars when he died. I seriously doubt he had any issues sourcing Heroin or other drugs in Downtown Seattle. As a matter of fact there were needles and spoons with Heroin residue found at the scene of his death. In my opinion Layne had, had enough and fixed himself a lethal overdose on purpose.

Great job, guys. Watched most of the videos, your dad should be proud. I'd like to buy your CD. Sign one and leave it in your dad's garage, I'll pick it up next time I head to Egypt to work on the Tomcat. Did you guys know I used to play bass, and sat in with Shotgun Wedding, End Zone, and Dirty Blond? (You'll have to ask the old timers.) Early to late 90's. Last century!. Best of luck.

I think that they are not properly displaying Williams talents. He himself is an excellent songwriter, guitarist and singer. If you have any doubt of that check out madfly or comes with the fall. What disappoints me is that Jerry sings most of the leads now and plays lead guitar on almost all the songs. What they could do is have Jerry and william work more together on the song writing, have Jerry sing 50% of the songs and William sing the other 50%. They should also have Jerry and Will have dueling guitars where they both have a chance to play lead.
